• Choosing routing.yml based on user culture?

  In my Symfony application I would like to choose the routing.yml based on the current user's culture; 'en' => routing.en.yml 'no' => routing.no.yml and so forth. Any suggestion to how this can be done? Edit: I am not trying to do i18n this way - I use Symfony's built-in methods for that. I simply want "static" urls to reflect the user's language: /en/projects/internal/project-name /no/prosjekter/interne/prosjektnavn /fr/baguette/champs-elysee/foux-de-fafa Where "projects" is a module, the category "internal" and "project-name" are stored in the database.

• Grabbing random object from ArrayList is not random.

  I am creating a method where if you pass in a parameter of type Random, then it will return a random object. Here is basically what I am trying to do: public T choose(Random r) { int randomInt = r.nextInt(randomList.size()); // randomList is just a instance variable return randomList.get(randomInt); } The random list has this the following strings:[2, 2, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, c, c, c, a, a, a, a] Then I made a driver with the following code for (int i = 0; i < 10; i++) { System.out.print(rndList.choose(rnd)); // rnd is initialized as a static Random variable } However my outputs are not coming out random. I used the debugger and found out that my choose method generates an integer that is relatively low, so it will always print out either 2's or 1's but never c's or a's. I can't figure out why this is happening and help would be greatly appreciated.

• How to parse a string into a nullable int in C# (.NET 3.5)

  I'm wanting to parse a string into a nullable int in C#. ie. I want to get back either the int value of the string or null if it can't be parsed. I was kind of hoping that this would work int? val = stringVal as int?; But that won't work, so the way I'm doing it now is I've written this extension method public static int? EDIT: Thanks for the TryParse suggestions, I did know about that, but it worked out about the same. • PHP anonymous functions scope question

  Hi, I'm trying to sort an array of objects by a common property, however I cannot get my $property parameter to register in the inner function (I can use it in the outer one OK). The way I read the documentation, it sounded like the parameter would be available, have I misunderstood something?   I'm currently working on a pinned website tile for my website and instead of using a static XML file i'm linking the tile to a web api that returns user specific XML. My question is: Is it possible to secure this tile so that a user needs to be logged in before the data loads? • Watching a variable for changes without polling.

  I'm using a framework called Processing which is basically a Java applet. It has the ability to do key events because Applet can. You can also roll your own callbacks of sorts into the parent. I'm not doing that right now and maybe that's the solution. For now, I'm looking for a more POJO solution. So I wrote some examples to illustrate my question. Please ignore using key events on the command line (console). Certainly this would be a very clean solution but it's not possible on the command line and my actual app isn't a command line app. In fact, a key event would be a good solution for me but I'm trying to understand events and polling beyond just keyboard specific problems. Both these examples flip a boolean. When the boolean flips, I want to fire something once. I could wrap the boolean in an Object so if the Object changes, I could fire an event too. I can maybe throttle it back with a sleep or compare the elapsed time since last update but this is not event driven. It's just less polling. So how can I do this smarter? How can I watch a POJO for changes without polling? In C# there seems to be something interesting called properties. • OutOfMemoryError calling XmlSerializer.Deserialize() - not related to XML size!

  This is a really crazy bug. The following is throwing an OutOfMemoryException, for XML snippits that are very short (e.g., <ABC def='123'/>) of one type, but not for others of the same size but a different type: (e.g., <ZYX qpr='baz'/>). public static T DeserializeXmlNode<T>(XmlNode node) { try { return (T)new XmlSerializer(typeof(T)) .Deserialize(new XmlNodeReader(node)); } catch (Exception ex) { throw; // just for catching a breakpoint. } } I read in this MSDN article that if I were using XmlSerializer with additional parameters in the constructor, I'd end up generating un-cached serializer assemblies every it got called, causing an Assembly Leak. But I'm not using additional parameters in the constructor. It also happens on the first call, too, so the AppDomain is fresh. Worse yet, it is only thrown in release builds, not debug builds. What gives?

• Browser caching issue on a https site pressing f5

  i am working on a website where i have content entry form. This form contains a tiny mce control. The control is composed of some 40-50 files. The testing reported that the entry form loads slow and evertime shows up 50 files loading to completely load the page. Is there a way i can decrease this time. I have taken help of browser caching by setting the expires header of static content to very far date. When i access the form through its link second or later times it loads fast without saying 40 files remaining. but when i do f5 it reloads the entire page. I m confused as to how is f5 different from clicking on the link. Just to add my url is https.Any suggestion to increase the performance of this form will be great.

I have a class which is having attribute "DataContract" on it but the method is not working with this attribute. I think "DataContract" is also a type of serializer but maybe different than that of "Serializable". Can anyone please give me the difference between the two? Also please let me know if it is possible to create a deepclone of an object with just 1 attribute which does the work of both "DataContract" and "Serializable" attribute or maybe a different way of creating a deepclone? Please help!

• cant populate cells with an array when i have loaded a second UITableViewController

• MySql UDF using shared library won't load

  I am attempting to create a mysql UDF which will match a fingerprint using Digital Persona's free linux SDK library. I have written a trivial UDF as a learning experience which worked fine. However, when I added a dependency to Digital Persona's shared object I can no longer get MySql to load my UDF. I added includes to DP's headers and compiled my UDF using: gcc -fPIC -Wall -I/usr/src/mysql-5.0.45-linux-i686-icc-glibc23/include -shared -o dp_udf.so dp_udf.cc I also tried adding the -static argument, but whenever I restart MySql, I get the error: Can't open shared library 'dp_udf.so' (errno: 0 /usr/local/mysql/lib/plugin/dp_udf.so: undefined symbol: MC_verifyFeaturesEx) MC_verifyFeaturesEx is a function defined "dpMatch.h" which I included, and is implemented in libdpfpapi.so which I have tried placing in the same location as my dp_udf.so and in /usr/lib. Am I doing something wrong with my call to gcc (my C++ skills are rusty) or does MySql not allow UDFs to use additional shared objects?

  In Java, you can make an enum having multiples values. In objective-C, this cannot be done easily. I've read many pages about this but I didn't found anything satisfying that would allow me to use enums by a simple way and to keep the enum declaration and their different values in the same file. • PerformanceCounterCategory.Exists is very slow if category doesn't exists

  I have kind of library which uses a bunch of its own perf counters. But I want my library works fine even if that perf counters weren't installed. So I've created wrappers aroung PerformanceCounter and on the first use check if PerfCounter exists or not. If they exists then I'm using native PerformanceCounter instead I'm using a wrapper which do nothing. So to check perf counter existence I use PerformanceCounterCategory.Exists The problem is that if there isn't such category then PerformanceCounterCategory.Exists call takes (on my machine) about 10 seconds! Needless to say it's too slow. What can I do? • Thread Proc for an instancable class?

  Basically I have a class and it is instincable (not static). Basically I want the class to be able to generate its own threads and manage its own stuff. I don't want to make a global callback for each instance I make, this doesnt seem clean and proper to me. What is the proper way of doing what I want. If I try to pass the threadproc to CreateThread and it is the proc from a class instance the compiler says I cannot do this. What is the best way of achieving what I want? Thanks

I'm building a template system and I really would just like an object variable to simply be there in all functions. • Auto-hide JMenuBar

  When i run the code above the frame's menu bar come up when the mouse moves to the upper part of the window.
