  • How use the google maps hand cursor in Python?

    Hello, I want to use the google maps hand cursor in Python but I don't know how to do it. I've downloaded the cursor but I only get to use the hand open, I also have a event that "closes" the hand when clicked but I don't know how can I change the style cursor on it. I say this because the google maps hand cursor has two style (the open and the closed hand). If you don't know how to use the other style you can also tell me how can I create another cursor where the close hand is the default style. If I have that, I only change the cursor and it's done.   • Worth it to use jQuery UI hosted by Google?

    Hi So I heard good reasons why to use the jquery hosted on google because of caching. But I am not sure about jQuery UI though. I am guessing that the jQuery UI file hosted on google has every single extension and plugin (such as Draggable, etc). So is that not kind of a waste if say your only using only jQuery UI tabs? to get all that other stuff with it. Also I see they have some of the templates up for the css files. I am guessing the caching would be the main advantage of using the hosted file.

    I'm not familiar with Google Analytics but I think you can use it to see how many people get to your site using different search strings. But if you don't yet have the site, can you simply ask Google how popular a search is? For instance say you're choosing a new product name/slogan/etc. First of all, you want to see if that is already very crowded, which is easy through just Googling it. But now you might want to see if anyone is actually searching for this... an ideal situation would be to find a search-string lots of people are using, which doesn't put your competitors on the #1 spot. Is this possible? Not exactly programming-related, but closely related to web-development IMO... please vote to close if you disagree, I won't be offended!

That is why I want to edit/patch the source of only that single kernel module to add some extra debug output. The kernel module in question is mvsas and not necessary to boot.   • Why are my Google and Bing search result pages locking up?

    I've got some really weird behavior going on. I can't do any web searching using Google or Bing because when the search result page shows up, every single link on the page is completely unresponsive. That is, every link to a search result. The links to page functions other than search results work fine. This happens in both IE9 and FF13. It doesn't happen to Yahoo! results, though. Any ideas?

While trying to test the site, there was an index.html file with a malicious script which had an iframe to another site's jar file. Kaspersky antivirus blocked it. I browsed via ftp to find the file and I deleted it. I also disabled directory listing. Maybe the ftp details of the site owner would have been hacked. I want to report this site to Google, Microsoft, Mozilla, and other antivirus providers. How do I do that?     The address bar background color in Google Chrome is black. I cannot see what I'm typing. What's going on? This is a problem when you're typing in a URL you've never used before (so there's no matching history). Type in a URL you've never used before. Imagine someone is giving it to you over the phone. Make a typo somewhere. Use the back arrow to go back and correct it. You cannot see where the cursor is. This just started happening yesterday. I'm on WinXP Pro.

    I needed my script to email admin if there is a problem, and the company only uses Gmail. Following a few posts instructions I was able to set up mailx using a .mailrc file. there was first the error of nss-config-dir I solved that by copying some .db files from a firefox directory. to ./certs and aiming to it in mailrc. A mail was sent. However, the error above came up. By some miracle, there was a Google certificate in the .db. It showed up with this command: ~]$ certutil -L -d certs Certificate Nickname Trust Attributes SSL,S/MIME,JAR/XPI GeoTrust SSL CA ,, VeriSign Class 3 Secure Server CA - G3 ,, Microsoft Internet Authority ,, VeriSign Class 3 Extended Validation SSL CA ,, Akamai Subordinate CA 3 ,, MSIT Machine Auth CA 2 ,, Google Internet Authority ,, Most likely, it can be ignored, because the mail worked anyway. Finally, after pulling some hair and many googles, I found out how to rid myself of the annoyance.   • When I ping Internet addresses like yahoo or Google, I get 2 reply packets and 2 lost packets.

    I have Airtel broadband and a Tata broadband connection. i have around 50 PCs connecting through an airtel broadband connection. Both are dsl connections with my phone line going into dsl modems and an Ethernet cable going from dsl modem directly into a switch. Currently, only airtel connection is connected with static IP on my private lan and using the airtel ISP DNS servers as DNS IP address and the default gateway is 192.168.1.1 (IP add. of the dsl modem). All PCs are connected in a work group. When in full use, my users complain of certain web pages are not opening. When I ping Internet addresses like Yahoo or Google I get 2 reply packets and 2 lost packets. I suspect that a single broadband connection is not able to sustain 50 simultaneous downloads/browsing. Is there any device which connect to both DSL and make one line so that its give me high speed simultaneous browsing. Help needed urgently. Thank you all to those who reply.

    Hi everybody. I'm working with gwtai to integrate a java applet into my gwt - project. Basic communication from my main application to the applet (such as invoking simple methods that return int or boolean values) works. But the main reason why I need to integrate this applet is, that I need it to connect to another server and receive a answer and pass it to my gwt-application. So there's one basic method in the applet: public String SendAndReceive(String host, int sendPort, int receivePort, String query) that connects to the server, receives an answer and returns this answer as a string. When I now try to invoke this method like this: applet.SendAndReceive("0.0.0.0", 9099, 2000, "show streams;"); I constantly run into following error (full error message at the end): com.google.gwt.core.client.JavaScriptException: (String): Error calling method on NPObject! [plugin exception: java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.util.PropertyPermission * read,write)] I couldn't find a solution (for gwtai is a quite uncommon topic), what I found out (and what the Exception let's one assume) is, that there's a security problem - maybe because I'm connecting to another server.   • Flow-Design Cheat Sheet &ndash; Part II, Translation

    In my previous post I summarized the notation for Flow-Design (FD) diagrams. Now is the time to show you how to translate those diagrams into code. Hopefully you feel how different this is from UML. UML leaves you alone with your sequence diagram or component diagram or activity diagram. They leave it to you how to translate your elaborate design into code. Or maybe UML thinks it´s so easy no further explanations are needed? I don´t know. I just know that, as soon as people stop designing with UML and start coding, things end up to be very different from the design. And that´s bad. That degrades graphical designs to just time waste on paper (or some designer). I even believe that´s the reason why most programmers view textual source code as the only and single source of truth. Design and code usually do not match. FD is trying to change that. It wants to make true design a first class method in every developers toolchest. For that the first prerequisite is to be able to easily translate any design into code. Mechanically, without thinking. Even a compiler could do it :-) (More of that in some other article.) Translating to Methods The first translation I want to show you is for small designs. When you start using FD you should translate your diagrams like this. Functional units become methods. That´s it. An input-pin becomes a method parameter, an output-pin becomes a return value: The above is a part. But a board can be translated likewise and calls the nested FUs in order: In any case be sure to keep the board method clear of any and all business logic. It should not contain any control structures like if, switch, or a loop. Boards do just one thing: calling nested functional units in proper sequence. What about multiple input-pins? Try to avoid them. Replace them with a join returning a tuple: What about multiple output-pins? Try to avoid them. Or return a tuple. Or use out-parameters: But as I said, this simple translation is for simple designs only. Splits and joins are easily done with method translation: All pretty straightforward, isn´t it. But what about wires, named pins, entry points, explicit dependencies? I suggest you don´t use this kind of translation when your designs need these features. Translating to methods is for small scale designs like you might do once you´re working on the implementation of a part of a larger design. Or maybe for a code kata you´re doing in your local coding dojo. Instead of doing TDD try doing FD and translate your design into methods. You´ll see that way it´s much easier to work collaboratively on designs, remember them more easily, keep them clean, and lessen the need for refactoring. Translating to Events [coming soon]

I really don't know all the million ways that a hacker could try to insert the dangerous tags. I have a rich html editor so I need to keep non dangerous tags but strip out bad ones. So is this script missing anything? I actually like the idea of whitelisting but never actually did it because no one can actually tell me how to do it in C# and I can't even really find tutorials for how to do it in c#(the last time I looked. I will check it out again). How do you make a white list? Is it just a list collection? How do you actual parse out all html tags, script tags and every other tag? Once you have the tags how do you determine which ones are allowed? Compare them to you list collection? But what happens if the content is coming in and has like 100 tags and you have 50 allowed. You got to compare each of those 100 tag by 50 allowed tags. Thats quite a bit to go through and could be slow. Once you found a invalid tag how do you remove it? I don't really want to reject a whole set of text if one tag was found to be invalid. I rather remove and insert the rest. Should I be using html agility pack?

    Hi there: I am working on getting parameter from a function string. For example, my function is named "translate". So all I need to do is to get everything inbetween "translate(" and ")". Is there a way that i can use regex to do that? So far I have something like: "/translate\((?<keyName>*)\)/i" Unfortunately it's not working. Can anybody help me with this one? Thanks a lot!

  • d3.behavior.zoom jitters, shakes, jumps, and bounces when dragging

    I am using the d3.behavior.zoom to implement panning and zooming on a tree layout, but it is exhibiting a behavior I would describe as bouncing or numeric instability. When you start to drag, the display will inexplicably bounce left or right until it just disappears.
