  If I have a customErrors section in my Web.config that says to redirect to Error.html, then putting code in the Application_Error method in the Global.asax to redirect to Error.html is redundant is it not? Technically, I could bypass the Web.config by redirecting to a different page in the Application_Error method if I wanted to, but since I don't want to go to a separate page I don't think I need the code.

My current .htaccess file does the following redirect: ErrorDocument 404 http://imgpls.localhost/includes/404.php So the url looks like: mysite.com/includes/404.php . Basically I need a double redirect: 1) 404 eror page to mysite.com/404.php (so the url looks nice) 2) mysite.com/404.php to mysite.com/includes/404.php where the file actually is.   Hi, I'm using htaccess rewrite engine to make urls look nice, from www.mysite.com/index.php?pag=home to www.mysite.com/pag/home it works fine with this rule RewriteRule ^pag/([^/]+)$ index.php?pag=$1 [L,QSA,NC] but when I go to www.mysite.com it redirects me to www.mysite.com/index.php is there a way to redirect to www.mysite.com/pag/home? I tried redirect 301 /index.php http://www.mysite.com/pag/home but when i try to go to www.mysite.com the browser gives my "page do not exsist error"

  I have a VPS and a domain name registered with the provider. When I enter www.example.com my site is displayed correctly, but entering example.com does not work. I am able to ping www.example.com. I added the following line to my apache2 default vhosts file: ServerName example.com ServerAlias www.example.com But this did not work. The VPS is a Debian5 OS. Any ideas? Note: There is no option via a provided control panel to add this, it's a basic package I purchased I know this post answers it but there are no extra comments and I'd like to know if it's the best way: way to redirect page to www using virtual host configuration in sites-available for apache2?   I have a server, (Server A) Windows Server 2003 that I was hosting some sites on. Now they are hosted on a different server (Server B). I recently switched the DNS at godaddy to point to the new nameservers. Is there something I can do on Server A to point all requests to Server A to Server B (basically a redirect from Server A to B)? What type of record would that be? This is while I'm waiting for the DNS changes I made to fully resolve. edit To further clarify. test.com may still be resolving to Server A, I'd like a DNS record on Server A that tells it to go to the new server.   I have a lan of maybe 20 - 30 computers, and a Windows server 2003 server on hand (I can also run any x86 Linux distro). What I am trying to do, is to redirect users to a webserver inside the LAN the first time they visit certain domains. For example, the first time a user visits "google.com", they will be redirected to 192.168.1.2 (a webserver, where they will be shown a custom webpage), attempts after that will go to google. Pretty much what I am trying to do, is to provide a captive server like service, showing people a custom webpage the first time they try to access certain websites (but not others). I'm pretty flexable on how this can be done, as long as it works. Can you guys give me an idea on how to approach this problem? I am looking for (hopefully) a free solutions. Thanks

  Hi, I just installed and partially configured nginx on a dedicated server of mine. But I've got some trouble understanding the regexp. I would like to make nginx redirect www.mydomain.com/forum/ AND www.mydomain.com/forum (note the missing trailing slash; case-insensitive; same applies for "forums" instead of "forum") to forum.mydomain.com/. This is what I came up with: location ~* ^/(forum|forums) { rewrite ^/(.*)/(.*)$ http://forum.mydomain.com/$2? permanent; } ... but for some reason it works with trailing slashes only. :-/ Please help me! • Getting HAPROXY to redirect http to https in users browser session

  We are currently using a Internet cloud provider to host our SaaS platform. The platform consists of a Firewall - Cloud Provider SLB - - Apache Web Server - HAPROXY SLB - Liferay Platform We have had to use HAPROXY because of an issue with the cloud providers SLB that meant we were unable to use it for load balancing the Liferay platform applications. I have implemented HAPROXY in our secure tier and that seems to do the trick of load balancing the requests quite adequately. However during testing we encountered a functional issue whereby selecting a sub-menu from the web portal resulted in the application hanging, using an http analyser we saw that the request being passed back to the users browser was in http, from discussing this with the software vendor it transpires that the Liferay application has some hard-coded http links, and that other customers have worked around this by using physical NLB's such as F5 and redirecting the http traffic to https.
