  • The Application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142)

    - by Guy Thomas
System = Windows 7 64-bit Various programs, notably Regedit, won't start. Instead I get: The Application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Strangly, at least to my thinking, I can launch them via Task Manager. I am also grappling with AVG errors or over-activity, e.g. reports of Broken digital Signature. I am also having problems with Excel Update KB978474 I mention these just incase anyone thinks there is a connection, rather than expecting people to solve 3 problems at once.

  • WPF to XPS in landscape orientation

    - by Felix
Hello, i am trying to to generate a XPS Document from a WPF Control. Printing works so far, but i cannot find a way to create the XPS in landscape mode. My code to create the XPS file, mostly taken from another SO page public FixedDocument ReturnFixedDoc() { FixedDocument fixedDoc = new FixedDocument(); PageContent pageContent = new PageContent(); FixedPage fixedPage = new FixedPage(); var ctrl = new controlToPrint(); //Create first page of document fixedPage.Children.Add(ctrl); ((System.Windows.Markup.IAddChild)pageContent).AddChild(fixedPage); fixedDoc.Pages.Add(pageContent); //Create any other required pages here return fixedDoc; } public void SaveCurrentDocument() { // Configure save file dialog box Microsoft.Win32.SaveFileDialog dlg = new Microsoft.Win32.SaveFileDialog(); dlg.FileName = "MyReport"; // Default file name dlg.DefaultExt = ".xps"; // Default file extension dlg.Filter = "XPS Documents (.xps)|*.xps"; // Filter files by extension // Show save file dialog box Nullable<bool> result = dlg.ShowDialog(); // Process save file dialog box results if (result == true) { // Save document string filename = dlg.FileName; FixedDocument doc = ReturnFixedDoc(); XpsDocument xpsd = new XpsDocument(filename, FileAccess.Write); System.Windows.Xps.XpsDocumentWriter xw = XpsDocument.CreateXpsDocumentWriter(xpsd); xw.Write(doc); xpsd.Close(); } } Any help is appreciated.

  • Is there a way to make a zenity dialog modal?

    - by math
How can I make them modal? With modal I mean: The dialog should block the desktop so the user has only two options: Either cancel the dialog or enter text into it. (I want this basically because new windows might popup and can steal focus and additionally that other programs can access configuration files inside that container) Background: I want to ask a passphrase after login for an encfs container. So either entering a pass, or continue with cancellation of this dialog. Note: This is not a duplicate of modal dialog popup alarm, as I am interested especially in a solution to Zenity dialogs.

  • Django 1.2 + South 0.7 + django-annoying's AutoOneToOneField leads to TypeError: 'LegacyConnection'

    - by konrad
I'm using Django 1.2 trunk with South 0.7 and an AutoOneToOneField copied from django-annoying. South complained that the field does not have rules defined and the new version of South no longer has an automatic field type parser. So I read the South documentation and wrote the following definition (basically an exact copy of the OneToOneField rules): rules = [ ( (AutoOneToOneField), [], { "to": ["rel.to", {}], "to_field": ["rel.field_name", {"default_attr": "rel.to._meta.pk.name"}], "related_name": ["rel.related_name", {"default": None}], "db_index": ["db_index", {"default": True}], }, ) ] from south.modelsinspector import add_introspection_rules add_introspection_rules(rules, ["^myapp"]) Now South raises the following error when I do a schemamigration. Traceback (most recent call last): File "manage.py", line 11, in <module> execute_manager(settings) File "django/core/management/__init__.py", line 438, in execute_manager utility.execute() File "django/core/management/__init__.py", line 379, in execute self.fetch_command(subcommand).run_from_argv(self.argv) File "django/core/management/base.py", line 196, in run_from_argv self.execute(*args, **options.__dict__) File "django/core/management/base.py", line 223, in execute output = self.handle(*args, **options) File "South-0.7-py2.6.egg/south/management/commands/schemamigration.py", line 92, in handle (k, v) for k, v in freezer.freeze_apps([migrations.app_label()]).items() File "South-0.7-py2.6.egg/south/creator/freezer.py", line 33, in freeze_apps model_defs[model_key(model)] = prep_for_freeze(model) File "South-0.7-py2.6.egg/south/creator/freezer.py", line 65, in prep_for_freeze fields = modelsinspector.get_model_fields(model, m2m=True) File "South-0.7-py2.6.egg/south/modelsinspector.py", line 322, in get_model_fields args, kwargs = introspector(field) File "South-0.7-py2.6.egg/south/modelsinspector.py", line 271, in introspector arg_defs, kwarg_defs = matching_details(field) File "South-0.7-py2.6.egg/south/modelsinspector.py", line 187, in matching_details if any([isinstance(field, x) for x in classes]): TypeError: 'LegacyConnection' object is not iterable Is this related to a recent change in Django 1.2 trunk? • OutofMemoryError: bitmap size exceeds VM budget (Android)

    - by Chrispix
Getting an Exception in the BitmapFactory. Not sure what is the issue. (Well I can guess the issue, but not sure why its happening) ERROR/AndroidRuntime(7906): java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: bitmap size exceeds VM budget ERROR/AndroidRuntime(7906): at android.graphics.BitmapFactory.decodeFile(BitmapFactory.java:295) My code is pretty straight forward. I defined an XML layout w/ a default image. I try to load a bm on the SDCard (if present - it is). If not it shows the default image. Anyway.. Here is code : public class showpicture extends Activity { public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { /** Remove menu/status bar **/ requestWindowFeature(Window.FEATURE_NO_TITLE); final Window win = getWindow(); win.setFlags(WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_FULLSCREEN,WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_FULLSCREEN); Bitmap bm; super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.showpicture); try { ImageView mImageButton = (ImageView)findViewById(R.id.displayPicture); bm = Bitmap.createScaledBitmap(BitmapFactory.decodeFile("/sdcard/dcim/Camera/20091018203339743.jpg"),100, 100, true); parkImageButton.setImageBitmap(bm); } catch (IllegalArgumentException ex) { Log.d("MYAPP",ex.getMessage()); } catch (IllegalStateException ex) { It fails on the bm=Bitmap.createScaledBitmap any thoughts? I did some research on the forums, and it pointed to this post I just don't know why it is not working. Any help would be great! Thanks, Chris.

  • resizing row's height in QTreeWidget/QTreeView

    - by serge
Hi everyone, I have some problems with sizing row's height in QTreeWidget. I use QStyledItemDelegate with QPlainTextEdit. During editing text in QPlainTextEdit i check for changes with a help of: rect = self.blockBoundingRect(self.firstVisibleBlock()) and if text's height changes i resize editor size and need row in QTreeWidget also resizing. But i don't know how to inform TreeWidget or a Delegate about changes. I tried to initialize editor with index, that i could use in a future, but Delegate creates new editor every time and i failed to use signals. Also I used following function to catch resize event, but it' doesn't: bool QAbstractItemDelegate::editorEvent ( QEvent * event, QAbstractItemModel * model, const QStyleOptionViewItem & option, const QModelIndex & index ) How can i bound editor's size changes with TreeWidget? And one more thing, by default all items (cells) in TreeWidget have -1 or some big value as default width. I need whole text in cell to be visible, so how can i limit cells width only by visible range and make it expand in height? I want for it the same behavior as in instance a table in MSWord. Thank you in advance, Serge

  • Sharepoint Lists.GetListItems Method rowLimit problem

    - by Linda
In SharePoint I am using the default view of a list. When I use GetListItems method I can pass into it the following: public XmlNode GetListItems ( string listName, string viewName, XmlNode query, XmlNode viewFields, string rowLimit, XmlNode queryOptions, string webID ) I am passing in "" for the viewName and am passing a rowLimit of 1000. By Default view only returns 100 items. 100 Items are still being returned not 1000. Can you use the rowLimit when not specifying a view? Is it possible to bring back 1000 items using the query instead? I do not really want to use a GUID for the viewName as I would have to look it up for each list and perform a big refactor. Update I am now using the guid of the view and my list still returns the incorrect number of items. I know the guid is being used as I sued an incorrect one and it errord out. Any ideas what could be wrong? The code that is being sent to the service is as follows: <GetListItems xmlns='http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/'> <listName>Media Outlet</listName> <viewName>{2822F0D9-A905-44B5-8913-34E6497F1AAF}</viewName> <query><Query><Where><Eq><FieldRef Name='Outlet_x0020_Type' /><Value Type='Lookup'></Value></Eq></Where><OrderBy><FieldRef Name='Title' /></OrderBy></Query></query> <ViewFields></ViewFields> <RowLimit>10000</RowLimit> <QueryOptions></QueryOptions> <webID></webID> </GetListItems>

  • Split WPF Style XAML Files

    - by anon
Most WPF styles I have seen are split up into one very long Theme.xaml file. I want to split mine up for readability so my Theme.xaml looks like this: <ResourceDictionary xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"> <ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> <ResourceDictionary Source="/PresentationFramework.Aero;v3.0.0.0;31bf3856ad364e35;component/themes/aero.normalcolor.xaml"/> <ResourceDictionary Source="Controls/Brushes.xaml"/> <ResourceDictionary Source="Controls/Buttons.xaml"/> ... </ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> </ResourceDictionary> The problem is that this solution does not work. I have a default button style which is BasedOn the default Aero style for a button: <Style x:Key="{x:Type Button}" TargetType="{x:Type Button}" BasedOn="{StaticResource {x:Type Button}}"> <Setter Property="FontSize" Value="14"/> ... </Style> If I place all of this in one file it works but as soon as I split it up I get StackOverflow exceptions because it thinks it is BasedOn itself. Is there a way around this? How does WPF add resources when merging resource dictionaries?

  • Trying to make a custom Arch-based Linux distro with larch

    - by strangeronyourtrain
I'm all set up with a spiffy Arch installation in a virtual machine, and now I want to turn it into a live ISO. When I heard about larch, I thought it would be the perfect tool to turn my existing installation into something I could distribute. However, I can't get larch to install properly. I followed the installation instructions on the website, which said to download and run the larch-setup script. When I run it, though, it installs the larch profiles and libraries but doesn't install the executable programs. Here's a screenshot of the errors I get when larch-setup tries to install the executables. I'd greatly appreciate any clues to what is going wrong here, or suggestions for alternative ways to turn my customized Arch installation into an ISO! Thanks!

  • "The specified view is invalid" in call to LimitedWebPartManager.AddWebPart in SharePoint 2010

    - by Lee Richardson
This code used to work in WSS 3.0 / MOSS 2007 in FeatureReceiver.FeatureActivated: using (SPLimitedWebPartManager limitedWebPartManager = Site.GetLimitedWebPartManager("default.aspx", PersonalizationScope.Shared)) { ListViewWebPart listViewWebPart = new ListViewWebPart { Title = title, ListName = list.ID.ToString("B").ToUpper(), ViewGuid = view.ID.ToString("B").ToUpper() }; limitedWebPartManager.AddWebPart(listViewWebPart, zone, position); } I'm trying to convert to SharePoint 2010 and it now fails with: System.ArgumentException: The specified view is invalid. at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPViewCollection.get_Item(Guid guid) at Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.ListViewWebPart.EnsureListAndView(Boolean requireFullBlownViewSchema) at Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.ListViewWebPart.get_AppropriateBaseViewId() at Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.SPWebPartManager.AddWebPartInternal(SPSupersetWebPart superset, Boolean throwIfLocked) at Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.SPLimitedWebPartManager.AddWebPartInternal(WebPart webPart, String zoneId, Int32 zoneIndex, Boolean throwIfLocked) at Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.SPLimitedWebPartManager.AddWebPart(WebPart webPart, String zoneId, Int32 zoneIndex) Interestingly enough when I run it from a unit test it works, it only fails in FeatureActivated. When I debug with Reflector it is failing on this line: this.view = this.list.LightweightViews[new Guid(this.ViewGuid)]; list.LightweightViews only returns one view, the default view, even though list.Views returns all of them. I have no idea what LightweightViews is supposed to mean and I'm running out of ideas. Anyone else got any?

  • Windows Vista language text service problem

    - by Azho KG
Hi, All I'm using English version of Vista and having problems with using programs that display Russian characters somewhere. For example dictionaries doesn't work for me, since they display Russian character. Also I see just "magic" characters in text editor (notepad) when open a Russian text file. I tried to change whole Vista Interface language to Russian, but it still didn't solve the problem. I CAN read any web page from browser, that's not a problem. Also adding "Russian" in "Text Services and Input Languages" doesn't solve this problem. Does anyone know how to solve this? Thanks. My System: 32-bit Windows Vista Home Premium - SP2

  • ASP.NET MVC 3: RouteExistingFiles = true seems to have no effect

    - by Oleksandr Kaplun
I'm trying to understand how RouteExistingFiles works. So I've created a new MVC 3 internet project (MVC 4 behaves the same way) and put a HTMLPage.html file to the Content folder of my project. Now I went to the Global.Asax file and edited the RegisterRoutes function so it looks like this: public static void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection routes) { routes.RouteExistingFiles = true; //Look for routes before looking if a static file exists routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new {controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional} // Parameter defaults ); } Now it should give me an error when I'm requesting a localhost:XXXX/Content/HTMLPage.html since there's no "Content" controller and the request definitely hits the default pattern. But instead I'm seeing my HTMLPage. What am I doing wrong here? Update: I think I'll have to give up. Even if I'm adding a route like this one: routes.MapRoute("", "Content/{*anything}", new {controller = "Home", action = "Index"}); it still shows me the content of the HTMLPage. When I request a url like ~/Content/HTMLPage I'm getting the Index page as expected, but when I add a file extenstion like .html or .txt the content is shown (or a 404 error if the file does not exist). If anyone can check this in VS2012 please let me know what result you're getting. Thank you.

  • WPF Ignoring ProgressBar Style

    - by Nidonocu
Following a problem in WPF 4 where the default ProgressBar template has an off-white highlight applied causing it to dull the foreground colour, I decided to extract the template and manually edit the values to white. After doing this, I put the template as a style in App.xaml for global use and the Visual Studio designer began to use it right away. However, when I run my app, the default style is still being applied: I then tried setting the style specifically using a key, then even having it as an inline style and finally as a inline template without a wrapping style for the specific progress bar and it is still ignored. What's going wrong? Current Code for progress bar: <ProgressBar Grid.Column="1" Grid.Row="2" Height="15" Width="355" Margin="0,0,0,7" IsIndeterminate="{Binding ProgressState, FallbackValue=False}" Visibility="{Binding ProgressVisibility, FallbackValue=Collapsed}" Value="{Binding ProgressValue, Mode=OneWay, FallbackValue=100}" Foreground="{Binding ProgressColor,FallbackValue=Red}"> <ProgressBar.Template> <ControlTemplate> <Grid Name="TemplateRoot" SnapsToDevicePixels="True"> <Rectangle RadiusX="2" RadiusY="2" Fill="{TemplateBinding Panel. Background}" /> ...

  • Can any web-based email program let user paste an image (not link) as part of the email instead of a

    - by Jian Lin
I think back in the old days, some email programs let users Paste an image right inside the email content. (maybe WinMail or Outlook?) So for example, we can write some text, embed an image, and then write some more text, and embed another image. The recipient will get the email content in the above text-image-text-image order (instead of having all images attached at the end of email) Can any web-based email program do that? Note that the image is not just a link, but a complete file. For example, Gmail lets us paste an image, but it is actually just a link to some web location. Can the actual file content be embedded instead?

  • ASP.NET MVC2 Routing Issue With StructureMap

However, if I use that, I get an error about not finding the controller for default.aspx when the controllerType is null at startup of the web app. If I force the use of the Home controller, I get the site to appear. What am I doing wrong? Is it a problem in routing?

  • How do I style buttons in a LinearLayout like a ListView

This is my current status of the stylesheet. The CKButton style gets applied over the Activity Theme. <style name="CKButton" parent="android:style/Widget.Button"> <item name="android:textSize">21sp</item> <item name="android:layout_margin">0dip</item> <!--<item name="android:background">@drawable/button_background</item>--> <item name="android:textColor">@color/button_text_normal</item> <item name="android:padding">10dip</item> <item name="android:gravity">left|center_horizontal</item> </style> As you see I tried to draw the button background myself, but depending on the system default theme the background-color changes and therefore defining a static color is not an option. Is there a way to inherit the default ListView Row background within that buttons?

  • W3WP crashes when initializing a collection

When I instantiate this collection, w3wp.exe crashes with the following two incomprehensible entries in the event log: Faulting application name: w3wp.exe, version: 7.5.7600.16385, time stamp: 0x4a5bd0eb Faulting module name: clr.dll, version: 4.0.30319.1, time stamp: 0x4ba21eeb Exception code: 0xc00000fd Fault offset: 0x0000000000001177 Faulting process id: 0x1348 Faulting application start time: 0x01cb0224882f4723 Faulting application path: c:\windows\system32\inetsrv\w3wp.exe Faulting module path: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\clr.dll Report Id: c6a0941e-6e17-11df-864d-000acd16dcdb And: Fault bucket , type 0 Event Name: APPCRASH Response: Not available Cab Id: 0 Problem signature: P1: w3wp.exe P2: 7.5.7600.16385 P3: 4a5bd0eb P4: clr.dll P5: 4.0.30319.1 P6: 4ba21eeb P7: c00000fd P8: 0000000000001177 P9: P10: Attached files: These files may be available here: Analysis symbol: Rechecking for solution: 0 Report Id: c6a0941e-6e17-11df-864d-000acd16dcdb Report Status: 0 If I remove the instantiation of the collection, the application starts normally. If I leave the instantiation, w3wp crashes. If I modify the interface, w3wp still crashes. I've tried every variation I could come up with on the theme of keeping the instantiation but doing everything else differently, but w3wp still crashes. My biggest issue here is that I have absolutely no idea why w3wp is crashing. It's not a StackOverflowException or anything concrete like that, all I get is the unintelligent junk cited above. I've tried to use DebugDiag and IISState to debug the w3wp process, but DebugDiag is only available for post-dump analysis in x64 (I'm running on Windows 7 x64, so the w3wp process is thus 64 bit) and IISStat says the following when I try to run it: D:\Programs\iisstate>IISState.exe -p 9204 -d Symbol search path is: SRV*D:\Programs\iisstate\symbols*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols IISState is limited to processes associated with IIS. If you require a generic debugger, please use WinDBG or CDB. They are available for download from http://www.microsoft.com/ddk/debugging. This error may also occur if a debugger is already attached to the process being checked. Incorrect Process Attachment I've double-checked 10 times that the process ID of my w3wp process is correct. I'm suspecting that IISState too only can debug x86 processes. Setting a breakpoint anywhere in the application does absolutely nothing. The break point isn't hit and w3wp crashes as soon as the request comes through to IIS from the browser. Starting the application with F5 in Visual Studio 2010 or starting another application to get the w3wp process up and running and then attaching the VS2010 debugger to it and then visiting the faulting application doesn't help. I've also tried to add an HTTP module as described in KB-911816 as well as add this to my web.config file: <configuration> <runtime> <legacyUnhandledExceptionPolicy enabled="true" /> </runtime> </configuration> Needless to say, it makes absolutely no difference. So I'm left with no way to debug the w3wp process, no way to extract any information from it and complete garbage dumped in my event log. If anybody has any idea on how to debug this problem, please let me know! Update My collection was initialized based on RouteTable.Routes which might have thrown an exception (perhaps by not being initialized itself yet in such an early stage of the ASP.NET lifecycle). Postponing the communication with RouteTable.Routes until a later stage solved the problem. While I don't really need an answer to this question anymore, I still find it so obscure that I'll leave it for anyone to comment on and answer, because I found no existing posts on this problem anywhere, so it might be of good reference in the future.

  • Installing trunk Mono on Ubuntu

    - by kalvi
I am quite new to linux. I have to install Mono on a linux machine from souce code. I know the general method: read-instructions, install-dependencies, ./configure, make, make install. However this approach doesn't fit into the general Ubuntu package management routine. Other programs I install from .debs won't be able to notice the version of Mono. Also I can't remove Mono using standard Ubuntu package management tools. Is there an easy solution? I have seen that Ubuntu actually has several separate packages for the Mono project. Should I build packages from Mono? How can I follow the same conventions as the ubuntu packagers? Where should I look for info on packaging? Can you give step by step instructions? Thanks!

  • JQuery tools.scrollable conflict with navbar Ajax in CakePHP

    - by user269098
In our views/layout/default.ctp file we have an element that's used to implement a cascading combo select box which uses JQuery ajax to update the fields. This selector is part of our navbar and is loaded on every page of the site. The default.ctp has these includes in the : <?php echo $html->charset(); ?> <title><?php echo $title_for_layout; //if(Configure::read('debug')) //echo "cake: " . Configure::version(); ?></title> <?php echo $html->css('style'); echo $javascript->link('jquery', true); echo $javascript->link('jquery.form', true); echo $javascript->link('jquery.url', true); echo $javascript->link('navbar', true); echo $html->script('tools.expose-1.0.3.js', array('inline' => false)); //echo $scripts_for_layout; ?> On the views/cars/index.ctp page we have: echo $javascript->link('tools.tabs-1.0.1', true); echo $javascript->link('tools.overlay-1.0.4', true); echo $javascript->link('jquery.form', true); echo $javascript->link('tools.scrollable-1.0.5', true); The issue is that on every other page the navbar combo box selector works. However, on the cars/index.ctp it doesn't work. It only works when we comment out the 'tools.scrollable' include. Any ideas why there is this conflict? We have been stuck on this problem for months...

  • Windows 7 Starter Screensaver Program Original Files

    - by Mark
Dear Sir or Madam I used the program by Sopan and Javier to change the wallpaper in Windows 7 Starter Edition on my laptop and it worked fine. I have now upgraded to Home Edition but there seems to be remnants of the program still lurking somewhere as when I set photos up for the screensaver they are always stretched no matter what I set the picture position as, ie fill, fit, stretched, tiled or centred. Can Sopan or Javier or anyone else supply original copies please of the files the program modified so that I can over-write the modified files back to the original ones? I know I can re-install the full windows 7 software but I want to save the agony of that along with the re-installation of all my programs and drivers! Many thanks for your help. Mark
