  • How can you tell if an HTML dropdown is displaying the list of options

    Is there a way to determine if a given drop down is currently active and displaying it's list of options? I am currently binding to the mousedown event of the dropdown and populating the options when the user clicks on it. Unfortunately the mousedown event fires when the user selects the option as well. If I can determine if the drop down is already displaying it's options, then I can skip populating the options.

    Hi people. I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out how to do this one. Here's the scenario. My e-commerce site has a blog with a lot of content, promoting the products I sell, reviewing them etc. 99% of the posts on the blog link back to the products they are talking about. I'm going to be changing the URL where my ecommerce system is located. Therefore my blog is going to end up sending people to a lot of 404 pages. The idea I've had is to be able inclue a JS file which will on load, scan the document for existing links then, if found, swap them out with ones which are now correct. I hope this make sense.     Hello! Couple of questions regarding Twill and Mechanize: 1) Is Twill still relevant as a web-automation tool? If yes, then why is not currently maintained? If no, has Mechanize matured further to support Twill-style simple scripting? Or is there another package that has stepped up to fill the gap? 2) I was able to very quickly setup a couple of test suites in python using Twill, but I'm a little confused on how to access the information that Twill spits out in my python program. That is, I can do showforms() and see the form values neatly listed and I can use fv to update the form values and submit. But how do I access one of those form values as a python var?     Hi all: I've been trying to do as the client requested : redirect to campaign page then to destination page once a customer clicks on the top banner in swf format. You can check what's been done at :http://ausdcf.org If you are using Firefox, Chrome or Safari, I suspect you can reach the destination page. However, if you are using IE or Opera, I doubt it. The simplest solution to this I can think of would be to use a tool to minify all static content so that (after encryption) only a small number of result sizes exist so as to minimize the information available to an eavesdropper. Are there any tools for doing this?

  • GXT/GWT html content reloads when switching tabs

    I am working on a GXT/GWT project. I have two tabs in which content is set based on selections from a drop down menu. The content in one tab is an embedded video (Google Video or youtube video) The problem is that when switching tabs, the video reloads and starts from the beginning again. What I would like is to be able to switch tabs and have the video continue to play or pause when the focus switches to another tab. Any ideas, as always, are greatly appreciated. Cheers, Ben
