  I am trying to set Thread Affinity using SetThreadAffinityMask function imported from kernel32.dll in C # code of mine. This is how I import SetThreadAffinityMask function from "kernel32.dll" in my C# .net code [DllImport("kernel32.dll")] static extern IntPtr SetThreadAffinityMask(IntPtr hThread, IntPtr dwThreadAffinityMask); I am creating 3 threads Thread t1=new Thread(some delegate); Thread t2=new Thread(some delegate); Thread t3=new Thread(some delegate); I wish to set Thread affinity for t1,t2 & t3 for which I am using SetThreadAffinityMask function.   I am trying to create a deep clone of an object using the following method. public static T DeepClone<T>(this T target) { using (MemoryStream stream = new MemoryStream()) { BinaryFormatter formatter = new BinaryFormatter(); formatter.Serialize(stream, target); stream.Position = 0; return (T)formatter.Deserialize(stream); } } This method requires an object which is Serialized i.e. an object of a class who is having an attribute "Serializable" on it. I have a class which is having attribute "DataContract" on it but the method is not working with this attribute. I think "DataContract" is also a type of serializer but maybe different than that of "Serializable". Can anyone please give me the difference between the two? Also please let me know if it is possible to create a deepclone of an object with just 1 attribute which does the work of both "DataContract" and "Serializable" attribute or maybe a different way of creating a deepclone? Please help!

• cant populate cells with an array when i have loaded a second UITableViewController

• PerformanceCounterCategory.Exists is very slow if category doesn't exists

  I have kind of library which uses a bunch of its own perf counters. But I want my library works fine even if that perf counters weren't installed. So I've created wrappers aroung PerformanceCounter and on the first use check if PerfCounter exists or not. If they exists then I'm using native PerformanceCounter instead I'm using a wrapper which do nothing. So to check perf counter existence I use PerformanceCounterCategory.Exists The problem is that if there isn't such category then PerformanceCounterCategory.Exists call takes (on my machine) about 10 seconds! Needless to say it's too slow. What can I do? • MySql UDF using shared library won't load

  I am attempting to create a mysql UDF which will match a fingerprint using Digital Persona's free linux SDK library. I have written a trivial UDF as a learning experience which worked fine. However, when I added a dependency to Digital Persona's shared object I can no longer get MySql to load my UDF. I added includes to DP's headers and compiled my UDF using: gcc -fPIC -Wall -I/usr/src/mysql-5.0.45-linux-i686-icc-glibc23/include -shared -o dp_udf.so dp_udf.cc I also tried adding the -static argument, but whenever I restart MySql, I get the error: Can't open shared library 'dp_udf.so' (errno: 0 /usr/local/mysql/lib/plugin/dp_udf.so: undefined symbol: MC_verifyFeaturesEx) MC_verifyFeaturesEx is a function defined "dpMatch.h" which I included, and is implemented in libdpfpapi.so which I have tried placing in the same location as my dp_udf.so and in /usr/lib. Am I doing something wrong with my call to gcc (my C++ skills are rusty) or does MySql not allow UDFs to use additional shared objects?

  In Java, you can make an enum having multiples values. In objective-C, this cannot be done easily. I've read many pages about this but I didn't found anything satisfying that would allow me to use enums by a simple way and to keep the enum declaration and their different values in the same file. • View Animation (Resizing a Ball)

  hi, i am trying to do this: 1) user long touches the screen, 2) a circle/ball pops up (centered around the user's finger) and grows in size as long as the user is touching the screen 3) once the user lets go of the finger, the ball (now in its final size) will bounce around. i think i have the bouncing around figure out from the DivideAndConquer example, but i am not sure how to animate the ball's growth. i looked at various view flipper examples such as this: http://www.inter-fuser.com/2009/08/android-animations-3d-flip.html but it seems like view flipper is best for swapping two static pictures. i wasn't able to find a good view animator example other than the flippers. also, i would prefer to use images as opposed to just a circle. can someone point me in the right direction? thanks.

• Thread Proc for an instancable class?

  Basically I have a class and it is instincable (not static). Basically I want the class to be able to generate its own threads and manage its own stuff. I don't want to make a global callback for each instance I make, this doesnt seem clean and proper to me. What is the proper way of doing what I want. If I try to pass the threadproc to CreateThread and it is the proc from a class instance the compiler says I cannot do this. What is the best way of achieving what I want? Thanks

• Auto-hide JMenuBar

  When i run the code above the frame's menu bar come up when the mouse moves to the upper part of the window. • Why do I get Code Analysis CA1062 on an out parameter in this code?

  I have a very simple code (simplified from the original code - so I know it's not a very clever code) that when I compile in Visual Studio 2010 with Code Analysis gives me warning CA1062: Validate arguments of public methods. public class Foo { protected static void Bar(out int[] x) { x = new int[1]; for (int i = 0; i != 1; ++i) x[i] = 1; } } The warning I get: CA1062 : Microsoft.Design : In externally visible method 'Foo.Bar(out int[])', validate local variable '(*x)', which was reassigned from parameter 'x', before using it. I don't understand why do I get this warning and how can I resolve it without suppressing it? Can new return null? Is this a Visual Studio 2010 bug?

  I've created a test suite in NUnit that references several distinct unit test fixtures in various assemblies. But when I try to load the DLL in NUnit's GUI I get this: What am I doing wrong? I'm using nunit 2.5.0.9122.

  Consider an ASP.NET MVC application using the Salt parameter in the [ValidateAntiForgeryToken] directive. The scenario is such that the app will be used by many customers. It's not terribly desirable to have the Salt known at compile time. The current strategy is to locate the Salt value in the web.config. [ValidateAntiForgeryToken(Salt = Config.AppSalt)] //Config.AppSalt is a static property that reads the web.config. This leads to a compile-time exception suggesting that the Salt must be a const at compile time. An attribute argument must be a constant expression, typeof expression or array creation expression of an attribute parameter type How can I modify the application to allow for a runtime loading of the Salt so that the app doesn't have to be re-salted and recompiled for each customer? • JavaDoc to (Doku)Wiki conversion / doclet

  Our company has a very large public Java API which is currently being released standalone and online using (of course) JavaDoc. It is surrounded by product documentation which links into the API. We are moving our static documentation to DokuWiki - which works pretty good - and want to keep the links. Now it would be good to have a method (or doclet) that exports the JavaDoc directly into DokuWiki - or a very near alternative. Question: Is there something like this or do you know a method to do just that?
