• wcf - maximum array length quota

  Im writing a small wcf/wpf app to resize images but wcf is giving me grief when I try to send an image of size 28K to my service from the client. The service works fine when I send it smaller images. I immediately assumed that this was a configuration issue and I've trawled the web looking at posts regarding the MaxArrayLength property in my binding configuration. Ive upped the limits on these settings on both the client and server to the maximum 2147483647 but still I get the following error: {"The formatter threw an exception while trying to deserialize the message: There was an error while trying to deserialize parameter http://mywebsite.com/services/servicecontracts/2009/01:OriginalImage. The InnerException message was 'There was an error deserializing the object of type System.Drawing.Image. The maximum array length quota (16384) has been exceeded while reading XML data. This quota may be increased by changing the MaxArrayLength property on the XmlDictionaryReaderQuotas object used when creating the XML reader.'. • deadlock when using WCF Duplex Polling with Silverlight

  Hi all. I have followed Tomek Janczuk's demonstration on silverlight tv to create a chat program that uses WCF Duplex Polling web service. The client subscribes to the server, and then the server initiates notifications to all connected clients to publish events. The Idea is simple, on the client, there is a button that allows the client to connect. A text box where the client can write a message and publish it, and a bigger text box that presents all the notifications received from the server. I connected 3 clients (in different browsers - IE, Firefox and Chrome) and it all works nicely. They send messages and receive them smoothly. The problem starts when I close one of the browsers. As soon as one client is out, the other clients get stuck. They stop getting notifications. I am guessing that the loop in the server that goes through all the clients and sends them the notifications is stuck on the client that is now missing. I tried catching the exception and removing it from the clients list (see code) but it still does not help. any ideas?   Last time I create WAS profile and WASService then I try to config and run many script for learn how to config WAS, Finally it crash so i use wasprofile delete this profile and forgot delete WASService. Now I found IBM Webphere Application Server service display in services.msc list, so I tried to delete it with WASService.exe -remove command and windows SC command but I got message C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\bin>sc delete "IBMWAS61Service - DEV" [SC] DeleteService FAILED 1072: The specified service has been marked for deletion.

  Deploying ASP.NET 3.5 Web Service to local IIS (on Windows 7) I get this error message... The account 'ASPNET' does not appear to be valid. The account was obtained from this location: 'AspNetWorkerProcessIdentityName'. Some or all identity references could not be translated. Publish failed to deploy. I've tried making the site use a specific Application Pool, and the Network Service user (which also has full rights to the deployment folder) but to no avail.

Is there anyway to ignore this error, and continue. It seems the remote certificate is not signed.   Hello, I am using Flex 3 and make a call through a RemoteObject to a Java 1.6 method and exposed with BlazeDS and Spring 2.5.5 Integration over a SecureAMFChannel. The ActionScript is as follows (this code is an example of the real thing which is on a separate dev network); import com.adobe.cairngorm.business.ServiceLocator; import mx.collections.ArrayCollection; import mx.rpc.remoting.RemoteObject; import mx.rpc.IResponder; public class MyClass implements IResponder { private var service:RemoteObject = ServiceLocator.getInstance().getRemoteOjbect("mySerivce"); public MyClass() { [ArrayElementType("Number")] private var myArray:ArrayCollection; var id1:Number = 1; var id2:Number = 2; var id3:Number = 3; myArray = new ArrayCollection([id1, id2, id3]); getData(myArray); } public function getData(myArrayParam:ArrayCollection):void { var token:AsyncToken = service.getData(myArrayParam); token.addResponder(this.responder); //Assume responder implementation method exists and works } } This will make a call, once created to the service Java class which is exposed through BlazeDS (assume the mechanics work because they do for all other calls not involving Collection parameters). My Java service class looks like this; public class MySerivce { public Collection<DataObjectPOJO> getData(Collection<Long> myArrayParam) { //The following line is never executed and throws an exception for (Long l : myArrayParam) { System.out.println(l); } } } The exception that is thrown is a ClassCastException saying that a java.lang.Integer cannot be cast to a java.lang.Long. I worked around this issue by looping through the collection using Object instead, checking to see if it is an Integer, cast it to one, then do a .longValue() on it then add it to a temp ArraList. Yuk. The big problem is my application is supposed to handle records in the billions from a DB and the id will overflow the 2.147 billion limit of an integer. I would love to have BlazeDS or the JavaAdapter in it, translate the ActionScript Number to a Long as specified in the method. I hate that even though I use the generic the underlying element type of the collection is an Integer. If this was straight Java, it wouldn't compile. Any ideas are appreciated. Solutions are even better! :)

  I receive an error message when exposing an ADO.NET Data Service using an Entity Framework data model that contains an entity (called "Case") with an internal setter on a property. If I modify the setter to be public (using the entity designer), the data services works fine. I don’t need the entity "Case" exposed in the data service, so I tried to limit which entities are exposed using SetEntitySetAccessRule. This didn’t work, and service end point fails with the same error. public static void InitializeService(IDataServiceConfiguration config) { config.SetEntitySetAccessRule("User", EntitySetRights.AllRead); } The error message is reported in a browser when the .svc endpoint is called. It is very generic, and reads “Request Error. The server encountered an error processing the request.   I have a WCF service used mainly for managing documents in a repository. I used the chunking channel sample from MS so that I could upload/download huge files. Now I implemented reliable session with the service and I am seeing some strange behaviors. Here are the timeout values I am using. this.SendTimeout = new TimeSpan(0,10,0); this.OpenTimeout = new TimeSpan(0, 1, 0); this.CloseTimeout = new TimeSpan(0, 1, 0); this.ReceiveTimeout = new TimeSpan(0,10, 0); reliableBe.InactivityTimeout = new TimeSpan(0,2,0); I have the following issues. 1. If the Service is not up & running, the clients are not get disconnected after OpenTimeout. I tried it with my test client. Scenario 1: Without Reliable Session: I get the following exception: Could not connect to net.tcp://localhost:8788/MediaManagementService/ep1. The connection attempt lasted for a time span of 00:00:00.9848790. TCP error code 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:8788 This is the correct behavior as I have given the OpenTimeout as 1 sec. Scenario 2: With ReliableSession: I get the same exception: Could not connect to net.tcp://localhost:8788/MediaManagementService/ep1. The connection attempt lasted for a time span of 00:00:00.9692460. TCP error code 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:8788. But this message comes after around 10 mintes . (I believe after SendTimeout) So here I just have enabled the reliable session and now it looks like the OpenTimeout = SendTimeout for the client. Is this desired behavior? 2: Issue while uploading huge files with ReliableSession: The general rule is that you have to set a huge value for the maxReceivedMessageSize, SendTimeout and ReceiveTimeout. But in the case of Chunking channel, the max received message size doesn't matter as the data is sent in chunks. So I set a huge value for Send and ReceiveTimeout : say 10 hours. Now the upload is going fine, but it has a side effect that, even if the Service is not up, it takes 10 hours to timeout the client connection due to the behavior mentioned in (1). Please let me know your thoughts on this behavior.

  I have an document/literal Axis 1 service which I'm consuming with an Axis 2 client (ADB databinding, generated from WSDL2Java). It receives a valid XML response, but in parsing that XML, I get the error "Unexpected Subelement" for any type which doesn't have a namespace defined in the response. I can resolve the error by manually changing the (auto-generated by Axis2) type-validation line to only check the type name and not the namespace as well, but is there a non-manual way to skip this? This service is consumed properly by other Axis 1 clients. Here's the response, with bits in ALL CAPS having been anonymized. Some types have namespaces, some have empty-string namespaces, and some have none at all. Can I control this via the service's WSDL, or in Axis2's WSDL2Java handling of the WSDL? Is there a fundamental mismatch between Axis 1 and Axis2?   i have sandbox user code service running in MMC and in CA as well. It gets deployed from vs 2010 without any errors.Still when I try to add a sandboxed web part I get error message like " The sandboxed code execution request was refused because the Sandboxed Code Host Service was too busy to handle the request." I am using windows 7 proffessional OS and sharepoint 2010 rtm version. please help me to resolve this.
