• rdlc - phantom page break, what to check?

  I have a RDLC report which has some controls on the first page, which are inside a rectangle and which display ok. Beneath the rectangle, i have a matrix, which spans more than one page both in width and in height. I want the matrix to start rendering on the second page. If I enable "insert break before" on the matrix, there is an extra blank page before the matrix(in print layout), which is my problem. If I reduce the amount of data, so the matrix does not span more than one page in width, there is no blank page, and all is well. I checked the Page and Body sizes, they are ok. Any tips? This has been driving me crazy all day, what can I check? Thx

  Given a EF-Code First CTP5 entity layout like: public class Person { ... } which has a collection of: public class Address { ... } which has a single association of: public class Mailbox { ... } I want to do: PersonQuery.Include(x => x.Addresses).Include("Addresses.Mailbox") WITHOUT using a magic string. I want to do it using a lambda expression. I am aware what I typed above will compile and will bring back all Persons matching the search criteria with their addresses and each addresses' mailbox eager loaded, but it's in a string which irritates me. • What are the "Navigation Properties" in this data model for?

  I've been wondering how to properly set up many-to-many relationships in ASP.NET MVC 2 using Linq2Sql for quite some time now. I found this blog post that seems to have a similar model layout as mine. If you take a look at the first screenshot showing the data model you can see that each model has "Navigation Properties" at the bottom of it. What exactly is this and why don't my models have them? I have the proper foreign keys put in to place. Most specifically, I am looking at the relationship between the Article and Category models since that is the only many-to-many relationship that I see and that's what I'm trying to model. Obviously I use an intermediary joining table between these two tables but I am having trouble understanding the proper methodology for modeling that relationship and I'm not finding this information anywhere on The Google.

  here is my mysql and php code layout: -i have 3 tables -tableA stores unique "person" information -tableB stores unique "places" information -tableC stores not unique information about a person and places they have "beenTo". here is how i layed out my form: -one big form to insert into "person" tableA; "beenTo" tableC in the form, a person mulitple selects "places" which get inserted into "beenTo" my question is, when i am editing a "person" how do i display what the user has already selected to appear on my multiple select options drop down menu? my drop down menu at the moment query "places" table and displays it in a multiple select drop down menu. its easier when a person have beenTo one place, the problem arrises when there is more than one "beenTo" places? any ideas. thanks

• git-svn on subset of large svn repo

  repo layout: a/1 a/2 a/3 ... b/1 b/2 ... c/1 c/2 ... git-svn works perfect for me if I work on 1 svn repo subdir. But right now I'm facing the need to work on several subdirs (like, a/1, a/2, and b/1), and there's much shit in repo besides them. I've managed to write a regexp for this, but git-svn with --ignore-paths seems to check each file's name against this regexp, instead of skipping entire folders, so it's too slow. /* Probably I should file a bug report about this */ So -- any ideas of handling this? If some Mercurial svn agent can do selective clones, it's OK too, but I'd better stick with git. My another idea was some selective svn proxy, but I haven't succeeded in googling anything like that. • Flex Client application - HTTPRequest problem in the initialize function.

  Hello all. I have a serious problem in my flex client applications. I have an apache server with php web services. the flex client makes an httpservice requests. I noticed that the httpservice requests that runs from the creationComplete event of the application does not always get data from the server. but HTTPservice requests called from user actions always work. • How to go to the next level integrating animations in WPF applications with Blend / VS2008?

  I have been able to create little animations with the storyline in Blend. And I have been able to copy in the isolated storylines and triggers into existing projects in visual studio to spruce them up on the edges a little bit. But after adding too many animations, they start to conflict or cancel each other out, etc., or I can make a panel slide down and slide it back up, then it no longer can slide down since it is not in its original state anymore. Does anyone have any links, video tutorials, books, resources which not only show you how to make a little animation and then leave you to figure out how to integrate numerous animations into a typical business application layout, but instead take you through the whole process of building a business application while integrating animations and WPF goodness with Blend and Visual Studio?

• Remove JButton padding in MigLayout

Can this be achieved on MigLayout or should I use some other layout manager for this frame.

  I am working on a CMS platform with limited access to the template files and want to try and control some of the layout with pseudo class but no luck yet. Can anyone see what is wrong with this structure and why my pseudo class is being ignored? <div id="main"> <div class="someRandomDiv"></div> <div class="block"> stuff </div> <div class="block"> more stuff </div> </div> and i am trying something like this #main .block {border: 1px solid blue} #main .block:first-child {border: 1px solid red} so with this example I would think the stuff block would have a red border and more stuff would have a blue but it is all just blue. • Devise within namespace

  Hey, I'm trying to split my rails project in a front-end for regular users and a back-end for admins. Therefore i have created a namespace 'admin' so that i can easily control admin specific controller methods/layouts/authentication in the map admin. I'm using Devise to register/authenticate my admins only. Because it is only used for admins only i'm trying to move Devise to the admin namespace. I could not find exactly what i was looking for in the documentation of Devise but i tried something like this in routes.rb: namespace 'admin'do devise_for :admins end I also tried to make a custom Devise::Sessions controller but that too didn't seem to work out. Does anyone know how to do this? Should i just use the regular routes for devise with a custom(admin) layout?

• Assistance using respond_to to find the right actions to render PDF in ruby on rails

  Hi, I am trying out Prince with the Princely plugin, which is supposed to format templates that have the .pdf into a PDF generator. Right now, it says cannot find action. What do I need to do to fix this?

  Hello everyone, I'm debugging an HttpModule with an ASP.NET response filter. This dynamically rewrites portions of rendered SharePoint WCM pages. The publishing pages render fine in SP2007 on both Server 2003 and Server 2008. However the equivalent pages fail to render in SP2010 B2 on Server 2008 R2 / IIS7. The following error is returned by ASP.NET: Post cache substitution is not compatible with modules in the IIS integrated pipeline that modify the response buffers. Either a native module in the pipeline has modified an HTTP_DATA_CHUNK structure associated with a managed post cache substitution callback, or a managed filter has modified the response. This error is consistent with KB #2014472. However: Caching is disabled for anonymous & authenticated access at the site collection level There do not appear to be any Substitution controls on either the master or layout page The IIS 7 settings are all stock default This is happening e.g. on /pages/default.aspx. It seems likely I'm missing something cache related...but what?

• Trying to verify understanding of foreign keys SQL Server

  So I'm working on just a learning project to expose myself to doing some things I do not get to do at work. I'm just making a simple bug and case tracking app (I know there are a million this is just to work with some tools I don't get to). So I was designing my database and realized I've never actually used Foreign Keys before in any of my projects, I've used them before but never actually setting up a column as a FK. So I've designed my database as follows, which I think is close to correct (at least for the initial layout). However When I try to add the FK's to the linking Tables I get an error saying, "The tables present in the relationship must have the same number of columns". I'm doing this by in SQLSMS by going to the Keys 'folder' and adding a FK. Is there something that I am doing wrong here, I don't understand why the tables would have to have the same number of columns for me to add a FK relationship between the tables?

  Hi, I am developing a simple WPF application without any auto layout. The goal is when a user clicks (mouse down) a element (say textBlock) will appear at the location of the mouse click. For this I am using canvas panel embedded in a Grid of 1 row, 1 column and scrollviewer (visible). The issues are: 1. when the application window is resized the scroll viewers do not become active. 2. I want the ability to auto grow the canvas with mouse drag. Something like in MS-Excel when user drags the mouse horizontally/vertically the canvas should grow. I have searched net a lot to figure this out and am unable to get an answer. • Load client-side accordion with pane open

  hey , I'm trying to change an AJAX accordion layout on the client-side. How can I make it so that when the page loads, the selected pane is opened? At the moment, I have this: Sys.require(Sys.components.accordion, function() { $("#accordion").accordion({ HeaderCssClass: "acc_header", HeaderSelectedCssClass: "acc_selectedheader", FadeTransitions: true, requireOpenedPane: false }); }); This works. However, if I add SelectedIndex = 1, it still starts off with the top pane opened and everything else closed. I tried change the 1 to other numbers (including -1), but it doesn't make a difference. Have I missed something here? (It's placed in an updatepanel, if that makes a difference) Thanks

• Very simple jQuery rollover

  I made a very simple jQuery img rollover function inspired by this one: http://www.smileycat.com/miaow/archives/000224.php. It just check all the imgs that contain _off in their name and swap them with an img with the same name but "_on" instead of "_off". Since I can't use background imgs in my layout, I feel that's an handy solution. But I've got the feeling that the swapping is not smooth, like if the function runs slow. What do you think? Are there ways to optimize it? Currently, this is how my table looks: id | userID | field_1 | field_2 | field_3 | field_4 | etc... ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 2 | 2 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 1 | Each field represents one Sub Heading. Having this many columns in my table looks awfully inefficient... How can I go about optimizing this? I can't think of any way to neaten it up :/
