  I've been developing for Android for about 2 years (and ~1 year for iOS), releasing freeware and open source applications (mostly because my AdSense account was disabled in 2010), but recently I had an idea for a great app that I wanted to get some money, since it would take some effort to develop and also I would like to test this "commercial" model to know if this could make me invest more time improving and making my apps better. Since my AdSense account was disabled and then I'll not be about to sell it on the Google Play Store, I thought about making it a donationware so I would distribute it for free (and probably open source too) and users that really liked the app and wanted to give me a thanks and a incentive to continue developing it could donate any amount of money. So, what's your experience with donationware? Is it worth compared to paid apps?

  So I've been programming in C# for 3 years now (been programming in various languages for 3 years before that as well) and most of the stuff I learned I pieced together on the internet. The thing is, I want to understand C# more formally and in depth and so would like to get some books on the subjects. Any books you'd recommend? Also, I've heard good things about "C# 4.0 in a Nutshell", "Pro C# 2010 and the .NET 4 Platform" and "CLR via C#". What do you think of these? (The people at stackoverflow told me to take it here.   This question isn't strictly development-related but I hope it's still acceptable :) On June 25, 2010 the BIS updated 742.15 and of interest to me is the new 742.14(b)(4) "Exclusions from mass market classification request, encryption registration and self-classification reporting requirements" and 742.15(b)(4)(ii) which states… (ii) Foreign products developed with or incorporating U.S.-origin encryption source code, components, or toolkits. Foreign products developed with or incorporating U.S. origin encryption source code, components or toolkits that are subject to the EAR, provided that the U.S. origin encryption items have previously been classified or registered and authorized by BIS and the cryptographic functionality has not been changed. Such products include foreign developed products that are designed to operate with U.S. products through a cryptographic interface. I take this to mean that my Canadian produced product that uses https is now excluded from requiring a CCATTS. What does everyone else think?
