    Hi everyone, I would like to sort the data of a core data NSSet (I know we can do it only with arrays but let me explain...). I have an entity user who has a relationship to-many with the entity recipe. A recipe has the attributes name and id. I would like to get the data such that: Code: NSArray *id = [[user.recipes valueForKey:@"identity"] allObjects]; NSArray *name = [[user.recipes valueForKey:@"name"] allObjects]; if I take the object at index 1 in both arrays, they correspond to the same recipe...   • WindowsIdentity Token in Legacy ASP

    I've created a .Net library at work that is used by all of our developers. The security part of it uses Microsoft AzMan for the security backend. In order to create a security (AzMan) ClientContext I have to pass it a token value (as a uint). This is all fine an dandy until I needed to make a COM wrapper for our common library so some of our legacy pages could take advantage of it without being rewritten for now. I cannot figure out how to get the token value to pass to AzMan from legacy ASP. The COM wrapper is setup to run as a COM Server and runs as a specific user that we use here for all COM objects, therefor the common library can't just pull the identity using .Net. Any ideas?

Currently, we are rolling our own user, groups, permissions, etc. code and supporting database. I'd like to find something like ASP.NET membership that can help manage user authentication and authorization, rather than risk security issues in continuing to create an increasingly complicated custom solution. Are there any similar projects out there worth taking a look at?

  • How to reserve a set of primary key identifiers for preloading bootstrap data

    We would like to reserve a set of primary key identifiers for all tables (e.g. 1-1000) so that we can bootstrap the system with pre-loaded system data. All our JPA entity classes have the following definition for the primary key. @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = IDENTITY) @Column(name = "id", unique = true, nullable = false, insertable = false, updatable = false) private Integer id; is there a way to tell the database that increments should start happening from 1000 (i.e. customer specific data will start from 1000 onwards). We support (h2, mysql, postgres) in our environment and I would prefer a solution which can be driven via JPA and reverse engineering DDL tools from Hibernate. Let me know if this is the correct approach

  • C# WCF client configuration for X509 secured web service over https

    Hi guys I been pulling my hair out for the past few days trying to connect to a web service using .Net 3.5 and WCF (have also tried using WSE 3.0) without much luck. The web service is hosted by a 3rd party and we can access via https. They also make use of X509 certificates for security, to sign the message. I've been given some basic info and am able to connect and test the service using SOAP UI 3.5 without any problems, so we know that this is not the issue. Just trying to get it done in code! I've added the X509 certificate into the certificate store using the mmc snap-in, and using tracing and logging i can see that the message is being signed, just unable to see which part i have got wrong. Any healp GREATLY appreciated :) I've been given an offline WSDL file, which I have imported in as a service reference is VS 2008.   • Linq to SQL Error with Many-to-Many table

    I am getting the following error with linq-to-sql when I try to access a many-to-many collection: Members 'Int32 XXX' and 'Int32 YYY' both marked as IsPrimaryKey and IsDbGenerated. The statement is true, in that both of those columns are primary key integers with identity insert. The table I am trying to access has a foreign key to both YYY and ZZZ, and then ZZZ has a foreign key to XXX. There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with my data structure. I tried setting "Child Property" to false on the ZZZ-YYY relationship, but it didn't change anything.

To assist, I have created a couple of helper classes (some code for not-implemented members of the interfaces has been omitted for brevity): public class IPrincipalStub : IPrincipal { private IIdentity identityStub = new IIdentityStub(); public IIdentity Identity { get { return identityStub } set { identityStub = value } } } public class IIdentityStub : IIdentity { public string Name { get; set; } } However, the Name property in the IIdentity interface is read-only (the IIDentity interface specifies a getter but not a setter for the Name property). How can I set the Name property in my stub object for testing purposes if the interface has defined it as a read-only property?

  • Eager loading vs. many queries with PHP, SQLite

    I have an application that has an n+1 query problem, but when I implemented a way to load the data eagerly, I found absolutely no performance gain. I do use an identity map, so objects are only created once. Here's a benchmark of ~3000 objects. first query + first object creation: 0.00636100769043 sec. memory usage: 190008 bytes iterate through all objects (queries + objects creation): 1.98003697395 sec. memory usage: 7717116 bytes And here's one when I use eager loading. query: 0.0881109237671 sec. memory usage: 6948004 bytes object creation: 1.91053009033 sec. memory usage: 12650368 bytes iterate through all objects: 1.96605396271 sec. memory usage: 12686836 bytes So my questions are Is SQLite just magically lightning fast when it comes to small queries? (I'm used to working with MySQL.) Does this just seem wrong to anyone? Shouldn't eager loading have given much better performance?

  • How to propagate spring security login to EJBs?

    Context I have a J2EE application running on a JBoss 4.2.3 application server. The application is reachabe through a web interface. The authentication is done with basic authentication. Inside of the EJBs I ask the security context of the bean for the principal (the name of the logged in user) and do some authorization checks if this user is allowed to access this method of the EJB. The EJBs life inside a different ear than the servlets handling the web frontend, so I can't access the spring application context directly. Required change I want to switch to Spring Security for handling the user login. Question How can I propagate the spring login information to the JBoss security context so I can still use my EJBs without having to rewrite them? Ideas and links I already found a page talking about "Propagating Identity from Spring Security to the EJB Layer", but unfortunatelly it refers to an older version of Spring Security (Acegi) and I'm not familiar enough with Spring Security to make this work with the actual version (3.0.2).

This would require all key strokes to be tracked, and any other small changes like GUI UI editing. This seems like it would be a very useful tool for a programmer trying to remember a fix he did an hour ago that they didn't manually commit.

  • Consuming Web Services requiring Authentication from behind Proxy server

    Hi All, I've seen a number of post about Proxy Authentication, but none that seams to address this problem. I'm building a SharePoint Web Service consuming desktop application, using Java, JAX-WS in NetBeans. I have a working prototype, that can query the server for authentication mode, successfully authenticate and retrieve a list of web site. However, if I run the same app from a network that is behind a proxy server (the proxy does not require authentication), then I'm running into trouble. The normal -dhttp.proxyHost ... settings does not seam to help any. But I have found that by creating a ProxySelector class and setting it as default, I can regain access to the authentication web service, but I still can't retrieve the list of web sites from the SharePoint server. It's almost as if the authentication I provide is going to the proxy rather than the SharePoint server. Anyone have any experience on how to make this work? Now I could duplicate the data each quarter, keeping the price the same, but I'd rather use a view. How can I create a view that can be used to return prices for (for example) quarter 2?   • Adobe Color Profiles/Color Spaces, how is it possible that this works?

    I'm learning about Color Profiles/Color Spaces/Monitor Color Management Profiles and I was just wondering how any of that justified considering the fact that I could throw the entire color anything off by adjusting the brightness and contrast of my monitor? Additionally there are things like lighting in the place where your monitor resides. I don't understand what makes it possible to know that the colors that you are looking at on your monitor are accurate. I really don't have any idea where to start (considering I obviously can't even get the terminology right in the first place...:-p)

  • Am I using EJBs properly?

    I am using a JEE6 stack including JPA 2.0, JSF 2.0, EJB 3.1 etc. The way my architecture is setup is the following: I have JPA annotated DAOs using hibernate as my JPA provider. I have JSF Managed beans which correspond to my facelet/xhtml pages. I have EJBs that handle all of my database requests. My XHTML pages have JSF EL which make calls to my Managed beans. My managed beans contain references to my DAO entities which are managed by EJBs. For example, I have a user entity which is mapped to a db table. I have a user EJB which handles all CRUD operations that return Users. I have a page that edits a user. The highlevel workflow would be: navigate to user edit page - EL calls a method located in the managed bean that loads a user. The method calls userEJB.loadUser(user) from the EJB to get the user from the database. The user is edited and submit - a function is called in the managed bean which calls a function in the EJB to save the user. etc. I am running into issues accessing my data within my JSF pages using EJBs. I am having a lot of problems with lazy initialization errors, which I believe is due to how I have set things up. For example, I have a Client entity that has a List of users which are lazily loaded. In order to get a client I call a method in my EJB which goes to the database, finds a client and returns it. Later on i wish to access this clients list of users, in order to do so i have to go back to the EJB by calling some sort of method in order to load those users (since they are lazily loaded). This means that I have to create a method such as public List<User> getUserListByClient(Client c) { c = em.merge(c); return c.getUserList(); } The only purpose of this method is to load the users (and I'm not even positive this approach is good or works). If i was doing session management myself, I would like just leave the session open for the entire request and access the property directly, this would be fine as the session would be open anyway, there seems to be this one extra layer of indirection in EJBs which is making things difficult for me. I do like EJBs as I like the fact that they are controlled by the container, pooled, offer transaction management for free etc. However, I get the feeling that I am using them incorrectly, or I have set up my JSF app incorrectly.     Using a trigger-based approach to audit logging, I am recording the history of changes made to tables in the database. The approach I'm using (with a static sql server login) to record which user made the change involves running a stored procedure at the outset of each database connection. The triggers use this username when recording the audit rows. (The triggers are provided by the product OmniAudit.) However, the ASP.NET Membership tables are accessed primarily through the Membership API. I need to pass in the current user's identity when the Membership API opens its database connection. I tried subclassing MembershipProvider but I cannot access the underlying database connection. It seems like this would be a common problem. Does anyone know of any hooks we can access when the ASP.NET Membership makes its database connection?

    Hello, I am looking for a cheap solution to my problem: I need to find either a common device (that is used in restaurants, bars clubs) or a cheap new device that can connect to internet (via the already existing ethernet or wireless based internet) and do HTTP request/receive response and retrieve information ? (For instance can a POS device connect to internet?) For a project, I need to do identity validation on several restaurants and bars and not all of them have computers. So I will be giving "cheap and easy to use devices" and non-IT personal can use it to do http request to my server and get response. All I can think of is Cell phones and SMS.
