  • Filter Datagrid onLoad

    My data grid successfully filters when I select a month from a dropdown list, however when I try to filter it onLoad it just doesn't filter.   • unwanted space before and after nested html table using Internet Explorer 8

    I have an html table nested in an html table cell. I want the nested table to use the full size of the cell it is nested in. When I use firefox or google chrome I get the result I want but when I use Internet Explorer 8 (even if I use td style="height="100%") the height of the nested cell depends on it's content. As a result I get whitespace before and after my nested table.

  • What is the difference between yum, apt-get, rpm, ./configure && make install

    I am new to Linux and am running CentOs. When I want to update or install certain software I came across three ways. Sometimes it's: yum install program rpm -i program.rpm wget program.tar.gz unpack ./configure make make install That last one is a real pain, esp when you come from windows where a program install is usually one click and then a nice guide. Now can someone please explain to me: Why are there so many different ways to do this? Which one do you recommend to use and why? Are there any other ways for installing programs?

  • Exchange 2010 550 5.7.1 unable to relay

    I have a website application that needs to send email via our Exchange servers. It sends email internally fine, but when sending to an external address I get the 550 5.7.1 unable to relay error. I followed this guide to create a connector to allow relay. Unfortunately, all office email was trying to use that connector and was not being routed correctly. It also appeared as though it opened it up for spammers to use. This is obviously unacceptable and a secure method is needed.

    When I create preference activity I define all preferences in xml file. Every preference has a key defined in this xml. But when I access preference I write: SharedPreferences appPreferences = PreferenceManager.getDefaultSharedPreferences(this); boolean foo_value = appPreferences.getBoolean("foo_key_defined_in_xml", false); Is there any way to avoid acessing "foo_key_defined_in_xml" in hard-coded way? Maybe there is a possibility to access it in R style way?

  • WebsitePanel 2 totally NOT working on Windows Server 2012 on Azure

    I’m having many troubles installing WebSitePanel on an Azure Virtual Machine, with Windows Server 2012. I followed the steps in http://www.websitepanel.net/documentation/deployment-guide/server-configuration/preparing-windows-server-2008-r2-for-websitepanel-installation/ and installed everything I needed. Then, I installed the WebSitePanel Standalone Server package with the installer. I opened the endpoint for the port 9002 on Windows Azure; so I pointed my browser to myhostname.cloudapp.net (note: in Azure you don’t have a static IP address, instead you have an hostname like [hostname].cloudapp.net). So, loading myhostname.cloudapp.net:9002 fails, and any browser shows something like “Unable to load page”. Notice: if I try to load the WebSitePanel Portal directly on the server, I get an error HTTP 400 Bad Request. How come? IIS works perfectly on the server, in fact the default website runs without problems on port 80.

  • Is it safe to compress my Windows 7 %USERPROFILE%\AppData folder?

    Having just read Scott Hanselman's latest blog entry, Guide to Freeing up Disk Space under Windows 7, he suggests turning on NTFS compression which I already do for a number of less travelled folders that contain static files such as downloads or images. However I am wondering if it's wise to turn on NTFS compression for the whole of my %USERPROFILE%\AppData folder? My system drive is a 128 GB SSD residing in a Dell Precision T5400 3Ghz Quad Core Xeon workstation so I ought not to notice the extra cycles used to compress and decompress files on their way to and from the disk. However would there be any good reasons not to do this? In fact could I safely compress the whole of my %USERPROFILE% folder?

  • Making a row of divs all be the same height using CSS

    I have a row of divs that must all be the same height, but I have no way of knowing what that height might be ahead of time (the content comes from an external source). I initially tried placing the divs in an enclosing div and floated them left. I then set their height to be "100%", but this had no perceptible effect. By setting the height on the enclosing div to a fixed-height I could then get the floated divs to expand, but only up to the fixed height of the container. When the content in one of the divs exceeded the fixed height, it spilled over; the floated divs refused to expand. I Googled this floated-divs-of-the-same-height problem and apparently there's no way to do it using CSS. So now I am trying to use a combination of relative and absolute positioning instead of floats. This is the CSS: <style type="text/css"> div.container { background: #ccc; position: relative; min-height: 10em; } div.a { background-color: #aaa; position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; bottom: 0px; width: 40%; } div.b { background-color: #bbb; position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 41%; bottom: 0px; width: 40%; } </style> This is a simplified version of the HTML: <div class="container"> <div class="a">Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit.
