  • How do you export an report while using ActiveReports

    I'm using Active Reports within my VB program to generate a report based on my data. Right now I have the report opening fine and it is allowing the user to print, copy, find, etc. I am unsure how to add the functionality to let the user choose to export the chart once the program is running.

  • JPopupMenu getParent() returning a null?

    Ok so I'm working on an Eclipse plugin based on the JGraph example. The problem is I can't really get the "save" method to work, here's how the program works in short: - I have a DiagramEditor class with an init() method, where I create a GraphEditor object and call the createFrame() methord of that object. - GraphEditor extends the BasicGraphEditor (which extends JPanel), the createFrame() method returns a JFrame and has a line "frame.setJMenuBar(menuBar)" - the "menuBar" is an object variable, which is initialized in the BasicGraphEditor. Till here everything is cool, the problem is with the action listener which is supposed to save a file. To get the graph I need to get the GraphEditor component, so I do a Component component = (Component) e.getSource() whitch is the ActionEvent passed to that action listener and at that stage is the JMenuItem "save", then I get the parent which is the JPopupMenu, then I want to get that JPopupMenu's parent which should be the GraphEdiotor, but instead I get a null. Any idea why?   • Table View Controller Problems

    Hello, I added a table view into a view in interface builder and now I need to wire it up to some pre-made classes that you can generate in xcode. I set the tableview controller's class to the class in xcode and wired the dataSource and delegate to my table view but the app just crashes. Im not sure how to get data to properly load into my table view when using a tableview in a different view. If anyone knows how to do this any help is appreciated. Thanks

  • Are there programs that iteratively write new programs?

    For about a year I have been thinking about writing a program that writes programs. This would primarily be a playful exercise that might teach me some new concepts. My inspiration came from negentropy and the ability for order to emerge from chaos and new chaos to arise out of order in infinite succession. To be more specific, the program would start by writing a short random string. If the string compiles the programs will log it for later comparison. If the string does not compile the program will try to rewrite it until it does compile. As more strings (mini 'useless' programs) are logged they can be parsed for similarities and used to generate a grammar. This grammar can then be drawn on to write more strings that have a higher probability of compilation than purely random strings. This is obviously more than a little silly, but I thought it would be fun to try and grow a program like this. And as a byproduct I get a bunch of unique programs that I can visualize and call art. I'll probably write this in Ruby due to its simple syntax and dynamic compilation and then I will visualize in processing using ruby-processing. What I would like to know is: Is there a name for this type of programming? What currently exists in this field? Who are the primary contributors? BONUS! - In what ways can I procedurally assign value to output programs beyond compiles(y/n)? I may want to extend the functionality of this program to generate a program based on parameters, but I want the program to define those parameters through running the programs that compile and assigning meaning to the programs output. This question is probably more involved than reasonable for a bonus, but if you can think of a simple way to get something like this done in less than 23 lines or one hyperlink, please toss it into your response. I know that this is not quite meta-programming and from the little I know of AI and generative algorithms they are usually more goal oriented than what I am thinking. What would be optimal is a program that continually rewrites and improves itself so I don't have to ^_^

  • PIL's Image.show() brings up *two* different viewers

    When toying with images in the python shell, I use image.show(), where image is an instance of Image. Long ago nothing happened, but after defining a symlink to mirage named "xv", I was happy. The last few days, show() will bring up both ImageMagick's display and also Mirage. It's not clear where show() gets information on what to run. Documentation wasn't helpful. How to make it behave and bring up only what it thinks is xv?

I am using this command to load data mysql> LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE 'C:\\Documents and Settings\\Scan\\My Documents\\Downloads\\images_en.nt\\Sample4.txt' INTO TABLE NER.Images FIELDS TERMINATED BY' ' LINES TERMINATED BY '\n';' Only one row is loaded and if I execute again No row is loaded. Where is the problem? Data can be modified to reformat if required.

  • PHP Mcrypt - Encrypting / Decrypting file

    Trying to write a couple of functions that will encrypt or decrypt a file and am using the class found here to try and accomplish this: http://www.itnewb.com/v/PHP-Encryption-Decryption-Using-the-MCrypt-Library-libmcrypt The encryption function below seems to work, in that it appears to encrypt the file and place it in the intended directory. I'm trying to decrypt the file now, and it just dies with the message "Failed to complete decryption" (which is coded in there...) There's nothing in the php error logs, so I'm not sure why it's failing, but as mcrypt is entirely new to me, I'm more than inclined to believe I'm doing something wrong here...     I have a Pig program where I am trying to compute the minimum center between two bags. In order for it to work, I found I need to COGROUP the bags into a single dataset. The entire operation takes a long time. I want to either open one of the bags from disk within the UDF, or to be able to pass another relation into the UDF without needing to COGROUP...... In order to do this, I do a cross and then a COGROUP by PatentNumber in order to get the set PatentNumber, {wordcounts}, {kcenters}. If I could figure a way to pass a relation or open up the centers from within the UDF, then I could just GROUP wordcounts by PatentNumber and run myudfs.kmeans(wordcount) which is hopefully much faster without the CROSS/COGROUP. This is an expensive operation. Currently this takes about 20 minutes and appears to tack the CPU/RAM. I was thinking it might be more efficient without the CROSS. I'm not sure it will be faster, so I'd like to experiment. Anyway it looks like calling the Loading functions from within Pig needs a PigContext object which I don't get from an evalfunc. And to use the hadoop file system, I need some initial objects as well, which I don't see how to get. So my question is how can I open a file from the hadoop file system from within a PIG UDF? I also run the UDF via main for debugging. So I need to load from the normal filesystem when in debug mode. Another better idea would be if there was a way to pass a relation into a UDF without needing to CROSS/COGROUP. This would be ideal, particularly if the relation resides in memory.. ie being able to do myudfs.kmeans(wordcounts, kcenters) without needing the CROSS/COGROUP with kcenters... But the basic idea is to trade IO for RAM/CPU cycles. Anyway any help will be much appreciated, the PIG UDFs aren't super well documented beyond the most simple ones, even in the UDF manual.

  • XSD.exe doesn't enforce minOccurs

    I have a simple schema where I'm declaring both minOccurs and maxOccurs to 1. When I run the XSD.exe to generate a C# class and consume the class in code; the field is not enforced as mandatory. Is there some additional step missing? or does the classes generated using XSD.exe don't mandatory fields? any suggestions or insight will be helpful.

I then tried gem install pickle and it installs, but a script/generate pickle yields Couldn't find 'pickle' generator I did everything according to the readme no dice.   • CKEditor configuration, prefer img tag atrributes over inline style

    On su it was suggested to ask this here... Looking for a way to disable a feature in CKEditor that messes with attributes height and width on my and converts them into inline styles. The version of CKEditor is 3.2 and I have access to config files.
