  • Stuck with Apache2

    I cant finish Apache2 install, also cannot remove it. It has blocked my dpkg, now I cant get no installations in or out. I even tried distro upgrade, but it did still has broken dpkg..     I run yum install php-devel and it returns this. Typically I'd just run it with --skip-broken, but when I do, it still doesn't do the trick. I need to install this for something I'm trying to do. I do remember upgrading to PHP 5.4 and our entire infrastructure coming down due to it requiring PHP 5.3, so I downgraded as quick as possible to get everything back running and that may contribute to the issue. If you have any idea why this is happening and how I could get the package on the system while remaining on PHP 5.3, please let me know. Thanks.

  • Help with understanding why UAC dialog pops up on Win7 for our application

    We have a C++ unmanaged application that appears to cause a UAC prompt. It seems to happen on Win7 and NOT on Vista Unfortunately the UAC dlg is system modal so I can't attach a debugger to check in the code where it is, and running under msdev (we're using 2008) runs in elevated mode. We put a message box at the start of our program/winmain but it doesn't even get that far, so apparently this is in the startup code. What can cause a UAC notification so early and what other things can I do to track down the cause? EDIT Apparently the manifest is an important issue here, but it seems not to be helping me - or perhaps I am not configuring the manifest file correctly. Can someone provide a sample manifest? Also, does the linker/UAC magic figure out that the program "might" write to the registry and set its UAC requirements based on that? There are code paths that might trigger UAC, but we are not even at that point when the UAC dlg comes up. An additional oddity is that this does not seem to happen on Vista with UAC turned on.   • Dismiss android preferences dialog on Keyboard ACTION_DONE press

    I would like to be able to close the editpreference dialog (as shown here http://twitpic.com/18ttdp) by pressing the 'Done' button on the keyboard. Currently, pressing 'Done' just dismisses the keyboard but leaves the dialog. In other parts of my application I use code similar to the following to intercept the 'Done' key press and execute actions in my activity: text.setOnEditorActionListener(new TextView.OnEditorActionListener() { @Override public boolean onEditorAction(TextView v, int actionId, KeyEvent event) { if (actionId == EditorInfo.IME_ACTION_DONE) { //do stuff here return true; } return false; } }); However, I am unsure of how to do achieve this same effect in my preference activity or layout xml.

  • Error window show modal in MVVM WPF

    Hi guys I have implemented my MVVM error message as a message dialog that subscribes to error messages via a mediator class, so that other viewmodels can notify it if any errors occur. When an error occurs, I set the visibility attribute in the viewmodel to Visible, to display the error window. This is all bound in the Error window from the viewmodel. However, this window is NOT modal! I need to show it as a dialog and not just set the visibility to true - is there any kind of binding I can do, even if I have to extend the functionality of the window? I'd rather not break MVVM if I can avoid it. Thanks!

  • Creating a common selector class with UITableView or UIPicker

    I have several places in my app where I need to select a Foo for further processing from a list of Foo objects. I'd like to do this as a modal view, but neither UIPicker nor UITableView seems to lend itself to the standard approach, since the usual way to do a modal view controller involves setting the parent view controller up as the delegate, and both of those classes need to implement data source protocols, etc. Implementing the data source and selection protocol methods in my parent view controller defeats the purpose of trying to use one common class for implementing this modal selector screen all over my app. Does anyone have any solutions to this problem or am I effectively stuck implementing this selector class over and over again?

I'm looking for a way to automate the certificate selection so that every time a new test or fixture is executed (and my browser restarts) I don't have to manually interfere with the automated test and select the certificate. I've tried using various WatiN Dialog Handler classes and even looked into using the Win32 API to automate this but haven't had much luck. I finally found a solution but its adds another dependency to the solution (a third party library called AutoIT). Since this solution isn't ideal but does work and is the best I could find, I will post the solution and mark it as the answer but I am still looking for an 'out of the box' WatiN solution that is more consistent with the rest of my code and test fixtures. It can hold complex conditional branchless code. For example (ARMv6), the following sequence of instructions sets each byte of Rd equal to the unsigned minimum of the corresponding bytes of Ra and Rb: USUB8 Rd, Ra, Rb SEL Rd, Rb, Ra Links to tutorials / uncommon SIMD techniques are good too :) ARMv6 is the most interesting for me, but x86(SSE,...)/Neon(in ARMv7)/others are good too.   • How to overcome vc++ warning C4003 while writing common code for both gcc and vc++

    I have a code that is compiled in both gcc and vc++. The code has a common macro which is called in two scenarios. When we pass some parameters to it. When we don't want to pass any parameters to it. An example of such a code is: #define B(X) A1##X int main() { int B(123), B(); return 0; } The expect output from the pre-processing step of compilation is: int main() { int A1123, A1; return 0; } The output for both gcc and vc++ is as expected, but vc++ gives a warning: warning C4003: not enough actual parameters for macro 'B' How can I remove this warning and yet get the expected output?     One thing I love about ruby is that mostly it is a very readable language (which is great for self-documenting code) However, inspired by this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/609612/ruby-code-explained and the description of how ||= works in ruby, I was thinking about the ruby idioms I don't use, as frankly, I don't fully grok them. So my question is, similar to the example from the referenced question, what common, but not obvious, ruby idioms do I need to be aware of to be a truly proficient ruby programmer? By the way, from the referenced question a ||= b is equivalent to if a == nil || a == false a = b end (Thanks to Ian Terrell for the correction) Edit: It turns out this point is not totally uncontroversial.     I'm using the Windows Forms Application settings architecture (or however you're supposed to refer to it) and am successfully saving user settings to AppData. What I want to do is have some settings common to all users of a particular machine and some settings which roam with users across machines. For example I have some settings relating to a peripheral attached to the computer (model, settings etc.) and some user preferences like user interface colours. The colours preferences should roam with the user, but the peripheral settings should stay on the local computer no matter who's logged on. How can I mark these types of settings so that some get stored in /AppData/... and some in /AppData? Note that I don't want Application level settings - each computer the app will be installed on will have different settings. I'm targetting .Net 3.0 if that makes a difference.

  • Ho to launch Choose File dialog on Mac

    Hi All, I am using LSOpenItemsWithRole() to open any file from my appication. It works fine for all files which has a default application to get opened on Mac, but for the files which cannot be open with any default application this method returns an error kLSApplicationNotFoundErr and does nothing. For such cases I want my application to launch the "Choose Application" dialog box, so that end user can choose any application from there to open the file. This dialog box pops up whenever any such file is directly opened by double clickig. Is there is any direct API call to do the same? any help will be appreciated, Thanks in advance! Manish

    I have a table within my database that has many records, some records share the same value for one of the columns. e.g. | id | name | software | ______________________________ | 1 | john | photoshop | | 2 | paul | photoshop | | 3 | gary | textmate | | 4 | ade | fireworks | | 5 | fred | textmate | | 6 | bob | photoshop | I would like to return the value of the most common occurring piece of software, by using an SQL statement.
