    Hello, I have 2 nested divs, both have #x{ width:400; height:400px; background-color:#fff; color:#000 } #y{ width:200; height:200px; background-color:#000; color:#ccc; } <div id="y"><div id="x">Here lies a x value</div></div> I want the #x and #y to have individual css properties, but that is not the case, #x overrides the #y values Any help appreciated.   • passing multiple queries to view with codeigniter

    I am trying to build a forum with Codeigniter. So far i have the forums themselves displayed and the threads displayed, based on the creating dynamic news tutorial. But that is 2 different pages, i need to obviously display them into one page, like this: Forum 1 - thread 1 - thread 2 - thread 3 Forum 2 - thread 1 - thread 2 etc. And then the next step is obviously to display all the posts in a thread. Most likely with some pagination going on. But that is for later.   • DDEX Firebird editing queries duplicates columns in Visual Studio 2008

    Hello everybody! I don't know if some of you also has experienced it but when I edit a query in Visual Studio (it uses DDEX 2.0.5 for accessing the Firebird 2.5 database), it duplicates some of the columns. What's really interesting is the fact that only System.Boolean columns are duplicated: Originally, there was only ,for instance, a 'PRO_DELETED' field... Now I wanted to sort my results by this field - I had to change the select statement in the so-called QueryBuilder by adding "ORDER BY PRO_DELETED" ...After clicking OK it somehow created a new column (!?) called 'PRO_DELETED1' My question is: Why does DDEX add such a new row to the column view and why can't I access the original PRO_DELETED field anymore?     Hi, I have a table that contains data for electric motors the format is: DATE(DateTime) | TagName(VarChar(50) | Val(Float) | 2009-11-03 17:44:13.000 | Motor_1 | 123.45 2009-11-04 17:44:13.000 | Motor_1 | 124.45 2009-11-05 17:44:13.000 | Motor_1 | 125.45 2009-11-03 17:44:13.000 | Motor_2 | 223.45 2009-11-04 17:44:13.000 | Motor_2 | 224.45 Data for each motor is inserted daily, so there would be 31 Motor_1s and 31 Motor_2s etc. We do this so we can trend it on our control system displays. I am using views to extract last months max val and last months min val. Same for this months data. Then I join the two and calculate the difference to get the actual run hours for that month. The "Val" is a nonresetable Accumulation from a PLC(Controller). This is my query for Last months Max Value: SELECT TagName, Val AS Hours FROM dbo.All_Data_From_Last_Mon AS cur WHERE (NOT EXISTS (SELECT TagName, Val FROM dbo.All_Data_From_Last_Mon AS high WHERE (TagName = cur.TagName) AND (Val > cur.Val))) This is my query for Last months Max Value: SELECT TagName, Val AS Hours FROM dbo.All_Data_From_Last_Mon AS cur WHERE (NOT EXISTS (SELECT TagName, Val FROM dbo.All_Data_From_Last_Mon AS high WHERE (TagName = cur.TagName) AND (Val < cur.Val))) This is the query that calculates the difference and runs a bit slow: SELECT dbo.Motors_Last_Mon_Max.TagName, STR(dbo.Motors_Last_Mon_Max.Hours - dbo.Motors_Last_Mon_Min.Hours, 12, 2) AS Hours FROM dbo.Motors_Last_Mon_Min RIGHT OUTER JOIN dbo.Motors_Last_Mon_Max ON dbo.Motors_Last_Mon_Min.TagName = dbo.Motors_Last_Mon_Max.TagName I know there is a better way. If the user checks some of the sub-items, then a blue square appears inside the main items checkbox. It should look something like this. How do I do that in Java 1.6? Can I use swing or any external library? I would like to choose the easiest and the fastest way to achieve this? My aim is to create only 1 level of nesting.

  • Nested for loop error with !null checking an element that doesn't exist

    I am currently using nested for loops in a 2D array of size 4,2. When I run my program, I get index out of bounds Exception on the following line else if (state[i][j+1] != null && state[i][j].getFlash() <= state[i][j].getCycleLength() && state[i][j+1].getCycleLength() == state[i][j].getCycleLength()){ } It says the index out of bounds is 2. I would understand the error if I wasn't checking to see if [i][j+1] wasn't null, but I don't understand the exception with the check? I tried moving around the !null check but the program still fails on this line. Any help would be greatly appreciated.   • Java: Making concurrent MySQL queries from multiple clients synchronised

    I work at a gaming cybercafe, and we've got a system here (smartlaunch) which keeps track of game licenses. I've written a program which interfaces with this system (actually, with it's backend MySQL database). The program is meant to be run on a client PC and (1) query the database to select an unused license from the pool available, then (2) mark this license as in use by the client PC. The problem is, I've got a concurrency bug. The program is meant to be launched simultaneously on multiple machines, and when this happens, some machines often try and acquire the same license. I think that this is because steps (1) and (2) are not synchronised, i.e. one program determines that license #5 is available and selects it, but before it can mark #5 as in use another copy of the program on another PC tries to grab that same license. I've tried to solve this problem by using transactions and table locking, but it doesn't seem to make any difference - Am I doing this right?     If there is a view controller that wants to execute a number of block based tasks one at a time, how can the control be given back to the view controller after a completion block has executed. Lets say ViewControllerOne wants to execute a number of tasks, each relying on the result of the previous one, how would this control be given back to the viewcontroller after each completion block has been executed? I started thinking about this and I was heading towards a deeply nested block pattern that will surely only cause confusion to whoever else reads or tests it. A task executes and the completion block returns the result or error which is needed by the next task, which has its own completion task, that the next task relies on and so forth. How can the control be managed in one place, the viewcontroller? Would the completion block just call the next function that handles the next task, using a pointer to the view controller?

    I once read a blog post and cannot find it anymore. drat! It was about a guy who setup a wcf service (I guess RIA, but could have been something else) exposing the model via IQueryable to the querystring. Sou you could say http://host/articles/123/ratings and you'd get a list (soap or json) of serialized Rating entities (the properties which had some attribute attached) which pertained to an article with id 123. All this with nHibernate / nh linq in the back and in surprisingly few lines of code. Anyone knows what I am talking about? Experiences, suggestions?

  • C# gridview nested in repeater update

    My current situation is to display an unknown number of Plantypes and within those Plantypes display a list of Participants(also unknown number), the participants have a textbox and a dropdown that is editable (you can't edit the individual rows, there is one update that does a bit of validation then updates all rows.) I currently have a gridview nested withing a repeater, the repeater displays the Plan in a label and OnItemDataBound I call a method to populate the gridviews. It looks great, but I can't figure out how to save all the data at once. I'm not opposed to handling this a different way, as in loose the gridview and or repeater, if someone has a better idea. This is C# and framework 2.0...there is no sorting or paging on the gridviews...just some links and the fields to update. thanks in advance, Padawan

  • Why does mobile first responsive design tend to not use max-width queries alongside the min-width queries?

    First off, I understand the basic principles behind mobile first responsive web design, and totally agree with them. But one thing I don't understand: In my experience, not all styles for small screens can be used for the larger version of a website. For example, usually smaller versions tend to have larger clickable areas, hamburger navigation, etc. So I sometimes have to override these specific styles, aside from just progressively enhancing the base styles. So I was wondering: why is max-width rarely mentioned (or used) in the context of mobile-first responsive web design? Because it looks like it could be used to isolate styles for smaller screens that are not useful for larger screens, and would thus prevent unnecessary duplication of code. A quote which mentions min-width as typically mobile-first, but not max-width: Mobile first, from a coding perspective, means that your base style is typically a single-column, fully-fluid layout.     I have a site, e.g. site.com I would like users to be able to access it in their locale at site.com/somecity This is similar to craigslist, but they do it with subdomains e.g. sfbay.craigslist.org Using Apache HTTP server. MySql for DB. If you can provide a brief explanation and perhaps links to more thorough discussions, I would be quite interested in learning.     SELECT Transactions.TransactionNumber FROM Transactions WHERE (((Transactions.Date)>=#11/23/12#)) AND (((Transactions.Date)<=#11/23/12#)); The above code returns all the transaction that happened between the specified dates. But I want those dates to be defined by the user every time the query is executed. I tried using the [] operators to have the user define the criteria in the WHERE, something like this: WHERE (((Transactions.Date)>=[Input a Date])) AND (((Transactions.Date)<=[Input a Date])); But microsoft Access throws a Syntax error message. The same happens when I include the # (date operators) like this WHERE (((Transactions.Date)>=#[Input a Date]#)) AND (((Transactions.Date)<=#[Input a Date]#)); Is there anopther way to manage dates that I'm not aware of or is asking a user for dates in a query out of the question
