    I'm starting to learn WPF and currently use Visual Studio Express 2010 at home. I want to be able to work on my projects at work but I am unable to install any unauthorized software on my computer. I downloaded SharpDevelop 4 and changed it so I can run it from my USB drive. SharpDelvelop will open Visual Studio projects but are there any issues I should be aware of?

    Hi, Once I have successfully connected to the database, i have a line that must insert values. mysqli_query($edb, "INSERT INTO elvis_table (name,email) VALUES ('$name','$email')" ) or die('Error querying database.'); It works fine on my computer ( xampp ), but once I upload it onto a server, it starts giving an error. Yes, I have a database with a corresponding table and fields on a server, it connects to the database fine, but gives an error on this line... Thanks!

  • Visual Studio 2010's Build Command: It does nothing

    I'm using Visual C# 2010 Express RTM with Windows Phone Developer Tools April CTP Refresh and when I run any Build option, nothing happens. I've deleted the contents of the build output folders and that doesn't do anything. I can't even run the project, because it complains the executable is missing (XNA Game for Windows project). I've tried the project on another computer and it builds just fine. Any ideas?

I've experienced outofmemory from my application : Current setting is : -Xmx900m Computer, Windows 2003 Server 32bit, RAM 4GB. Also is changing boot.ini to /3GB on windows, will make any difference? If is set Xmx900m, how much max native memory can be allocated for this process ? is it 1100m ?

  • Inno Setup install for another user

    When a user has restricted rights on his/her computer and runs my Inno Setup installer, Windows pop-up an administrator login prompt. The problem is that when the administrator types in his/her username and password and logs-in, Inno Setup thinks that he or she is the logged in user and installs my app for that user instead of the original one. (I'm installing files in the {userappdata} dir) Is there a way to overcome this limitation and install for the original restricted user?

    Visual studio 2010 Premium installed on Widnows 7: when try to connect for online gallery or online template, give me error like: Cannot search for online exensions because an error occured while trying to contact the server and ask me enable access to extensions on the vistual studio gallery .... It did enabled in Extension Manager Tools/Options page. Internet connection was fine. Can't know why. On another computer: Windows 7, VS2010 utilmate trail version: this was fine.

    I have installed xfig on my computer(MacOSX) but in order to complete the instalation I need a make install inside the source directory of xfig. I used the command whereis xfig in order to find the path of the source of xfig (as I cannot find it otherwise) but when I type this command I get no answer as i.e: hcp249:~ madalinahodorog$ whereis xfig hcp249:~ madalinahodorog$ why dont I get some answer? how can I find the path to the source of xfig? thank you in advance, madalina

    Is there a way to allow an HTML file to open an application on the local computer and send that application arguments? We have an application that allows a user to set a link to an external application. We also provide a summary page in HTML (they usually interact with the application from outside the browser) with the link in HTML as well. We can get applications to launch if the program exists, but cant seem to send arguments through the HTML link. Is this even possible?

    Hi, I've installed all the components of IIS 7 on a Windows Server 2008 box but I don't see IIS Out-Of-Process Pooled Applications in Component Services. How do I get it ? I have a .dll file that I want to drag it here. I have IIS 6 locally and it has IIS Out-Of-Process Pooled Applications under Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Component Services - Computers - My Computer - COM+ Applications.     When I am trying to connect to a MySQL database from a remote computer I get a prompt saying: Connection Failed: [HY000] [MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver]Can't Connect to MySQL server on 'XXX.XXX.XX.XX' (10060) I have created a user account in the MySQL Administrator and added a host to enable remote access, I have also made an exception for my Windows Firewall on port 3306 but the connection still fails.     I'm playing with numbers in Java, and want to see how big a number I can make. It is my understanding that BigInteger can hold a number of infinite size, so long as my computer has enough Memory to hold such a number, correct? My problem is that BigInteger.pow accepts only an int, not another BigInteger, which means I can only use a number up to 2,147,483,647 as the exponent. Is it possible to use the BigInteger class as such? BigInteger.pow(BigInteger) Thanks.
