  • Is web-browser to Excel interprocess communication possible

    Is is possible to write a browser plugin (one that requires the user to install something is OK) that would allow interprocess communication between the browser and a running instance of Excel (on Windows)? For example, suppose I want the user to be able to click something within their browser, and then have a piece of text drop into the selected cell in Excel as a result. This is certainly possible to do with a regular desktop application and Excel, but I'm not sure if it is possible with a browser, for security reasons.

  • Calling a Add-in function from Excel's VBA

    I am using an Excel Add-in for an Erlangs: http://abstractmicro.com/erlang/helppages/ref-erlbblockage.htm I try to call the Erlang-B function within the Add-in from within VBA thus: Function Erl(Erlangs As Double, Capacity As Double) Erl = Application.WorksheetFunction.ErlbBlockage(Capacity, Erlangs) End Function ...but it doesn't work. I get #VALUE! returned in the Excel cell. I think it is because the function is not part of standard Excel (it is in the Add-in). So how do I call it?

    I need to customize my jTable. All I need, is to put a custom Swing object (like jButon, jPanel, etc.) into the table cell. Is it possible? I'm trying: jTable.getModel.setValueAt(jPanel1,0,0) and jTable.getModel.setValueAt(jPanel1.getUI(),0,0) But the result is only a some kind of string, representing the object... Any ideas?

How to determine when the NSButtonCell is selected, i.e. when it's highlighted in the row?

    I am converting reports from version 2 to version 3. When I select the vertical table in the report, the propeties box appears but any changes I make is not reflected in the table. If I change any attributes at the column or cell level however, the changes are taken. The problem is that some attributes like alternate row coloring are not available at the column level.

  • increase ssh timeout

    I'm trying to connect to a mobile host connected over a 3G cell router from linux with ssh [email protected] -p 2200 and all I immediately get is (doesn't even seem to run into a timeout) ssh: connect to host 74.198.25.220 port 2200: Network is unreachable However, when I try the same IP on port 2200 with putty on Windows, it presents my with the password prompt just fine as I'd expect. What's going on here, do I need to increment my ssh timeout period to get this going or what? Thank you, Ron

    I have a DataGridView which is filling from Table in SQL Server Database. One of it's columns is "price". Type of column in DGV is automatically sets as Decimal. In some cases I need to write in cells of this column text like "none", instead of price. How can I do it? DGV.Item("price", 0).Value = "none" doesn't work, because of decimal type of a cell.

    I'm creating an HTML email and since background images can't be used on anything but <body> thought I could get around this by making a border image 100% height within a cell. Perhaps it was wishful thinking? I've searched at the solutions that worked in the past no longer work in modern browsers. Is there any special trick to making this happen without setting a hard height for the cell?     Hi im looking (but cant find) for sample app that will show me how to implement UITableView with custom UITableViewCell that is similar to one in the Things app, with smooth animation from read-only view (that hides empty cells) to editable view that shows only cells that can be edited, and custom cell with multiline input with small image. I would appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction. Im new to Cocoa/Objective-C programming but Im familiar with Object Oriented programing concepts.

    I have text cells of arbitrary length in Excel's column A. Using a private key, I want to generate digital signature for data in column A into the cell in column B. I'm looking for a macro implementation for the digital signature algorithm - I don't think one ships with Excel, but is there an addon available? It must be possible to easily verify correctness of the signature in other environments as well.
