  I have been looking at jQUery thickbox for showing modal dialogs with images, it is great. But now I have the need to display a hidden div of content that contains an iFrame in a similar fashion, with a link to open the content. So I'd have something like this. <a href="">Open window in Modal Dialog</a> <div id="myContent"> <h1>Look at me!</h1> <iframe src="http://www.google.com" /> </div> And need to show it in the dialog.   I have few nested DIV elements. For example: <div id='id1'><div id='id2'>content</div></div> I attach event to DIVs event handler using jQuery: $('div').click(function () { //some code }); There will be two events when user click on content. So there will be two simultaneous events. Is it possible to get inside event handler array of objects (DIVs) what have click event? May be it is possible using other framework but jQuery?

• Most standard / Best way to keep the same top menu among different web pages?

  What's the standard way to keep the same menu on top among different web pages without having to duplicate it on each page (I don't mean that it doesn't reload like when using frames and only loading the bottom part; I want the menu to scroll with the page when scrolling down, like this, this, this and pretty much every single web page that exists). I found this answer but the guy can't use Php and I can. Plus, I see several people giving different suggestions, but I assume there is a standard since pretty much every single web page in the whole web have a menu on top that stays the same among multiple pages . I'm just a newbie on web design (I can program Php and Html easily but I have no idea about standards and stuff like that since I'm self-taught guy ;)). What I would normally do is to include the menu with php but I'm not sure if this is the "standard".

• Can I use notepad++ exe in my application ?

  I am parsing html file with the help of the html agility pack to extract the table data from the html file. But there is some html files where there is no ending tags which is optional or there is no starting tag which is also optional.So html agility pack does not parse that html page properly.If I open the content of that html file in the notepad++ then with the option TestFX-->TestFX HTML Tidy-->TiDy clean document and make the content tidy like this. And now this file If I parse with the html agility pack then it parse it properly. Making html page tidy with notepad++ is best option. So I don't know but user can not do this like first he/she makes the page tidy with notepad++ and then go ahead.Then what should I do ?

  I am using json with unicode text, and having a problem with the IE8 native json implementation. <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <script> var stringified = JSON.stringify("?????? olé"); alert(stringified); </script> Using json2.js or FireFox native json, the alert() string is the same as in the original one. IE8 on the other hand returns Unicode values rather than the original text \u0e2a\u0e27\u0e31\u0e2a\u0e14\u0e35 ol\u00e9 . Is there an easy way to make IE behave like the others, or convert this string to how it should be ? And would you regard this as a bug in IE, I thought native json implementations were supposed to be drop-in identical replacements for json2.js ?

• Getting the responseText from XMLHttpRequest-Object

  I wrote a cgi-script with c++ to return the query-string back to the requesting ajax object. I also write the query-string in a file in order to see if the cgi script works correctly.   The best way to illustrate this question is with...a Fiddle! Before you visit the fiddle, notice there is text behind the grayest element, which is on top of a light gray element that has a border. There is a main wrapping div (root), and two wrapping divs inside (wrap1 and wrap2). The problem here is that I need the content of wrap2 (highlight) to be behind the content of wrap1 (text), but in front of the background of the root. This, however, must not change: The HTML, the elements and wraps should be left untouched. Excluding the order of wrap1 and wrap2 inside root. The highlight div must keep the absolute positioning. Styling highlight with background-color is not an option, the existence of highlight is a must. PS: the italics reference the id's of <div>s in the fiddle example, for whomever was too lazy to visit it.

Is there any way to extract or pull out the content of doc or docx file into the blogger or wordpress text area. For instance, we need not to select and copy the text or images from doc(x) file.   We're currently in the process of looking for an online payment service that will allow us to accept credit cards, etc. However, our business model also involves revenue sharing in a model similar to that of iTunes. That is, content creators will be able to sell content through our site and we take a small percentage of the revenue. Can anyone recommend an online payment service that supports this model? We're also interested in: Accept all major credit cards Being able to do international transactions in the appropriate local currency Recurring transactions (monthly, yearly, etc.) Additionally, if the service provided a Java API for integration or the ability to broker PayPal transactions that would be an added bonus. I know Amazon provides a hosted payment service, but I'd prefer not to require all of our customers to have an Amazon account. That provides an additional barrier to entry that we'd prefer to avoid. I'd appreciate any recommendations you can provide!

• CSS problem on HTTPS pages (IE8 toolbar BHO)

  I am developing an IE8 toolbar in C#. The toolbar has a button which when clicked adds some user defined content to the page. I am using a BHO to add the required HTML, CSS & JS to the page. Things are fine with "http" pages. But, when a "https" page is loaded, user keeps getting the IE warning "Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely?....". I traced the problem to some css rules, where I am using local png files which are already installed on the user's machine. Is there any way by which I can access the png files on the local machine without getting the IE8 warning?

  Possible Duplicate: How to list all installed packages? I am on a "grown" system. My initial setup was using Ubuntu 9.04. But now with the 12.04 Update I got stuck. My System is freezing or wired errors occour. I want to reinstall my system on a clean partition. How can I get a list of the packages I installed in my system? I want a list with the base packages not all the dependecies, so I can install all packages on my clean install again with the correct (maybe new) dependencies. I other words: I want to retrieve a list of all packages installed with apt-get directly. Not the ones it additionally installs with these packages. Thanks!

• jQuery $.post & $.append & IE6

  I'm having a weird problem with jQuery and IE6. Script works on IE7+ and with all other browsers I have tried it. I can't post the full script, but what it does is this: $.post("file.php",{'foo':'bar'},function(data){ $('#target').append(data) }) When I run the code in IE6, #target just shows ? and a white char with a hole in the middle. I have no idea what this second char is. My initial thought was that this was some sort of content-type problem because the file.php just echoes answer without any header information. I added Content-type: text/html with header() but didn't help. Any suggestions?
