• Rhino Mocks verify a private method is called from a public method

  I have been trying to figure this one out, how do i test that a private method is called with rhino mocks with in the class that I am testing. So my class would be something like this. Public class Foo { public bool DoSomething() { if(somevalue) { //DoSomething; } else { ReportFailure("Failure"); } } private void ReportFailure(string message) { //DoSomeStuff; } } So my unit test is on class Foo and method DoSomething() I want to check and make sure that a certain message is passed to ReportFailure if somevalue is false, using rhino mocks.

  I'm a new user of dynatree plugin. When I read the documentation, I found the list of tree and node class member functions, such as tree.getRoot(), node.countChildren(). However, when I tried to use them, it complained that no such methods were found. • gcc precompiled headers weird behaviour with -c option

  Folks, I'm using gcc-4.4.1 on Linux and before trying precompiled headers in a really large project I decided to test them on simple program. They "kinda work" but I'm not happy with results and I'm sure there is something wrong about my setup. First of all, I wrote a simple program(main.cpp) to test if they work at all: #include <boost/bind.hpp> #include <boost/function.hpp> #include <boost/type_traits.hpp> int main() { return 0; } Then I created the precompiled headers file pre.h(in the same directory) as follows: #include <boost/bind.hpp> #include <boost/function.hpp> #include <boost/type_traits.hpp> ...and compiled it: $ g++ -I. pre.h (pre.h.gch was created) After that I measured compile time with and without precompiled headers: with pch $ time g++ -I. -include pre.h main.cpp real 0m0.128s user 0m0.088s sys 0m0.048s without pch $ time g++ -I. main.cpp real 0m0.838s user 0m0.784s sys 0m0.056s So far so good! Almost 7 times faster, that's impressive! Now let's try something more realistic. All my sources are built with -c option and for some reason I can't make pch play nicely with it. You can reproduce this with the following steps below... I created the test module foo.cpp as follows: #include <boost/bind.hpp> #include <boost/function.hpp> #include <boost/type_traits.hpp> int whatever() { return 0; } Here are the timings of my attempts to build the module foo.cpp with and without pch: with pch $ time g++ -I. -include pre.h -c foo.cpp real 0m0.357s user 0m0.348s sys 0m0.012s without pch $ time g++ -I. -c foo.cpp real 0m0.330s user 0m0.292s sys 0m0.044s That's quite strange, looks like there is no speed up at all!(I ran timings for several times). It turned out precompiled headers were not used at all in this case, I checked it with -H option(output of "g++ -I. -include pre.h -c foo.cpp -H" didn't list pre.h.gch at all). What am I doing wrong?

• Disable selected automated tests at runtime

  Is is posable to disable selected automated tests at runtime? I'm using VSTS and rhino mocks and have some intergation tests that require an external dependancy to be installed (MQ). Not all the developers on my team have this installed. Currently all the tests that require MQ inherit from a base class that checks if MQ is installed and if is not sets the test result to inconclusive. This works as it stops the tests from running, but marks the test run as unsuccseessful and can hide other failures. Any ideas?

Also, in Phong(...), when I computed the intensity_diffuse and while debugging, I divided light_color by 10, I was obtaining a resulting image that looked more like what I need. Am I calculating the light_color correctly? Thanks.

After reading the documentation about how to select and alternative form builder the logical solution for me seemed to be something like this. • MSVC 2008 - Unresolved External errors with LIB but only with DLL, not with EXE project

  I have a DLL that I am trying to link with a libjpeg LIB using MSVC 2008 that is generating Unresolved External Symbol errors for the libjpeg functions. I also have a test project that links with the exact same libjpeg library file and links without error and runs fine too. I have triple-checked my LIB path and dependent LIBS list settings and literally copy and pasted them from the EXE project to the DLL project. I still get the errors. I do have the libjpeg include headers surrounded by extern "C" so it is not a name mangling issue and the unresolved external warnings show the "missing" libjpeg functions as undecorated (just a leading underscore and the @ sign parameter byte count suffix after each name). What could make the linker with the DLL project be unable to find the functions properly when the test EXE project has no trouble at all? I'm using the pre-compiled 32-bit static multi-threaded debug library which I downloaded from ClanLib. Thanks, Robert

• [Ruby] OpenSSL verify certificate from own CA

  Hello all and thanks for your time reading this. I need to verify certificates issued by my own CA, for which I have a certificate. How can I do the equivalent to openssl's openssl verify -CAfile in Ruby code? The RDoc for OpenSSL is not very helpful in this regard. I've tried: require 'openssl' ca = OpenSSL::X509::Certificate.new(File.read('ca-cert.pem')) lic = OpenSSL::X509::Certificate.new(File.read('cert.pem')) puts lic.verify( ca ) but I get: test.rb:7:in `verify': wrong argument (OpenSSL::X509::Certificate)! (Expected kind of OpenSSL::PKey::PKey) (TypeError) from test.rb:7 I can't even find "verify" in the OpenSSL Rdoc at http://www.ruby-doc.org/stdlib/libdoc/openssl/rdoc/index.html. • Question about casting a class in Java with generics

  In Java 6 Class<? extends ArrayList<?>> a = ArrayList.class; gives and error, but Class<? extends ArrayList<?>> b = (Class<? extends ArrayList<?>>)ArrayList.class; gives a warning. Why is (a) an error? What is it, that Java needs to do in the assignment, if not the cast shown in (b)? And why isn't ArrayList compatible with ArrayList? I know one is "raw" and the other is "generic", but what is it you can do with an ArrayList and not with an ArrayList, or the other way around?

• Can we generate multiple coverage reports using Hudson Emma plugin

  We run both unit (junit) and system (fit) tests on instrumented code in our build. The consolidated coverage report for both is generated as part of the build itself. We then feed the unit test coverage report to the Hudson Emma plugin, configure benchmark numbers and things work nicely. Is it possible to also feed in the system test coverage report separately to the same plugin so that we can get that report and configure benchmarks for that as well? I know there is a workaround of creating a downstream project for the latter activity but it would be good to be able to do both in the same build.

  I'm attempting to select all <script type="text/html"> tags in a page. I use <script> tags to store HTML templates, similar to how John Resig does it. Scripts in the actual page are not found. • Having two ODP.NET (ODAC) versions in the same server

  Hello: Some months ago, a colleague of mine installed ODAC 11.106.21 in a server using XCOPY and then he developed many applications that use this client without problems (in test and production windows servers). Past week, I developed an application under ODAC 11.1.07.20. When I asked him to install these new ODAC version using XCOPY in a different folder and then include my application in the test server, he answered me that I should use ODAC 11.106.21 because he could have troubles with his applications. So I would like to know: 1) If it is really possible to have two different ODAC versions in one server. 2) If the answer is positive, how can I firmly ensure to my colleague that he will not have troubles with his applications? 3) If the answer is positive, is this necessary to do some kind of configuration in the server? Apparantly it's very similar to the session id, but I've never seen it before. EDIT: It is sent in IE but not in FF.

  I'm trying to hook up URL dispatch with PLT Scheme. I've taken a look at the tutorial and the server documentation. I can figure out how to route requests to the same servlets. Going to localhost:8080/posts/test goes to a PLT "file not found" page (with the above code, I'd expect it to go to a page that says "review-post test"). It feels like I'm missing something small and obvious. Can anyone give me a hint?

• Ubuntu 12.04 Tenda W322p

  I had a fully operational version of Ubuntu 11.10 running (64 bit) and decided to upgrade to 12.04. After I did I no longer had network connectivity. I am running a Tenda Wireless W322P adapter. In the past I had installed it just fine and it was working great. Everytime I did a kernel update I would always have to do a modprobe rt3562sta to reinstall and get the network working. Now, I do that and I get the error FATAL: Error inserting rt3562sta (/lib/modules/3.2.0-24-generic/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/rt3562sta.ko): Invalid module format I am dead in the water. Any ideas?

The things I'm specifically confused about are: Uncompressing and unpacking, what's the difference and how do I do them? What package should I install if I want the generic kernel provided in regular Ubuntu installation? I won't be installing any drivers or anything related to kernel other than what's provided in the repos, do I need to worry about manually adding kernel modules? PS I would like to request that all the commands used in the installation process be mentioned in the answer, for the benefit of ones who're completely unfamiliar and myself, should I ever forget.

  I'm making some tedious calls to a bunch of functions, but the parameters will be determined at runtime. I wrote a simple function to keep my code DRY but giving it a name is unnecessary. I don't use this function anywhere else. I'm trying to do it the way I would in Scheme, but I get a void-function error: (let ((do-work (lambda (x y z) (do-x x) (do-y y) ;; etc ))) (cond (test-1 (do-work 'a 'b 'c)) (test-2 (do-work 'i 'j 'k)))) I could stick it all into an apply (e.g., (apply (lambda ...) (cond ...))) but that isn't very readable. Is there a better way?

• Print to File in Black and White (not in greyscale)

  Hi all, I have these pdf files of c++code and they are colored which would be cool, except that the network printer here is b&w and the printed out codes come in various shades of pale grey which makes them essentially unreadable (specially the comments). I would like everything (text, codes, commands,...) to be printed in the same (black) color. i've tried fuddling with the printer's properties, but the closest thing i see is the 'level of grey' tab, and there i have the choice between 'enhanced' and 'normal' (and it doesn't make a difference in my case). i've tried 'print to file', but i don't see any options there to print to b&w, I've tried installing the 'generic cups printer', but again no options to print to b&w. any idea ? (i'm on 10.10)
