For the very first time, with SharePoint 2013, we will have apps from different vendors, talking to different domains live in the browser. Sound fun eh? Well, all is hunky dory until you consider that browsers don’t have concepts such as process isolation, encryption, obfuscation etc.. Stuff that we are so used to in operating systems that we don’t even think about it. Browsers have JavaScript, and broken HTML5 – it is not secure! In fact, in the current technology spectrum you cannot achieve anything other than laughable security at message level without involving a plugin or some sort of thick code like Java. • How can I get my game to show up in the Games Explorer on Windows?

  I want to create an installer for a game which allows for an icon to be put in the Games Explorer for Vista and Windows 7. I have created the GDF, then built the script for project and obtained the .h, .gdf and .rc files. But I can't compile (using Visual Studio 2010) the .rc file into an executable to be used after that in order to create the installer. I get the following error after I set the executable path: "Could not load file or assembly'Microsoft.VisualStudio.HpcDebugger.Impl, Version 10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublickKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified." Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

  I'm reading "Professional Team Foundation Server 2010" by Wrox, and in an advantages/disadvantages list, the said: "Like CVS, SVN makes use of .svn directories inside the source folders to store state of the local working copy, and to allow synchronization with the server. However, it can have the affect of polluting the local source tree, and can cause performance issues wiht very large projects or files." What does the bit about pollution mean?   When I'm using C# to write some code and I define an interface using Visual Studio 2010, it always includes a number of "using" statements (as shown in the example) using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; namespace TestEngine.TestNameSpace { interface ITest1 { bool testMethod(int xyz); } } I wonder what these are for and if they are really necessary. Can I leave these out? Are they only necessary when I'm using those parts in my interface description?

  I'm trying to install Ubuntu and have been trying since 2010 on my Win XP (2006-2008 I don't know which year's version exactly). I'm trying to get rid of XP and every time I install Ubuntu it doesn't work. I've tried all the options on the install list from Wubi and from inside the installer. I've tried a lot of different stuff and all it will load is a mouse cursor and a black screen. Please do help out with suggestions/advice. Thanks in advance.

The presenter in the workshop implicitly mentioned a tool called VirtualBox (because it's not a MS product?) but I have no clue what it is at that moment.   I stumbled upon the idea for paren-free ecmascript (https://brendaneich.com/2010/11/paren-free/), which is inspired by Go language. And it's simple, clean and cool - if you make braces required instead of recommended (and they are recommended everywhere anyway: http://www.php-fig.org/psr/psr-2/), then parenthesis are unneeded around control structure “heads”. It would work exactly the same in PHP. So, a piece of PHP code could look like this: if $someVar == 42 { doSomething(); } or: foreach $someArray as $key => $value { echo "$key: $value"; } It's a small, but nice step towards a nicer, cleaner syntax and removing unnecessary parts. The question is - would PHP community be willing to see the languange move in that direction? Would it be considered an improvement by majority, or are we too used to typing those parenthesis and unwilling to see any change in PHP syntax?
