  • MS Runtime required for app to run, how can I include with setup?

    My application requires access to be installed on the computer or at least the MS Access runtime. Is their a way to include that with the application to check for that component/resource or install it if it isn't? Or would it just be easier to include a link to tell the user where to get the runtime if the error happens? I am using Visual Studio 2008 and the windows form app is written in VB.net. I am currently using click once for the deployment. Thanks

  • Debugging php-cli scripts with xdebug and netbeans?

    I have managed to initiate php-cli script debug session from the IDE itself, but I need to start the debugging session from the shell / command line. These are rather complex maintenance PHP scripts which take a lot of input parameters, so entering arguments from within Netbeans is a bit cumbersome. I have done it before with Zend studio http://kb.zend.com/index.php?View=entry&EntryID=130 but now I need to get it working with Netbeans. Thanks in advance.

  • Dynamically change my schema

    I am wondering if there is a way to change the schema that I am working in while inside Management Studio. For instance I may have a default schema of dbo. But there are times I may want to query objects in say the accounting schema. It would be nice if I could issue a command and make it so I no longer must include the accounting before tables and views. But the next time I go in, I will be back to default of dbo.

  • Security of WCF endpoints

    For the sake of argument, lets say that I've got a basicHttp WCF service. Besides implementing authentication (login/logout methods), what is stopping someone from just cracking open Visual Studio, adding a web reference to my website's service, and then playing playing around with my service? I'm not familiar with a method of stopping someone from doing this. The idea of someone downloading all of my Data/Operation contracts and then start playing around is keeping me up at night, and I like my sleep!

    Hi I am having a problem debugging an issue on a website. Everything works locally, the local and server databases are the same The strange thing about the error is that it points to my local dev machine in the error stack.     I'm building a very simple ASP.NET MVC site that doesn't require a database and doesn't have user accounts or any other special ASP.NET stuff. When I first created the site with the ASP.NET MVC 1.0 site template in Visual Studio, the web.config page was configured to automatically connect to SQL Server Express as a User Instance. Can I completely remove this dependency? If so, how do I get rid of all this database stuff?

    I have both Fruityloops and Propellerheads Reason software synths on my Windows PC. Any way I can get at and script these from either Visual Basic or Python? Or at least send Midi messages to the synths from code? Update : attempts to use something like a "midi-mapper" (thanks for link MusiGenesis) don't seem to work. I don't think Reason or FL Studio act like standard GM Midi synths. Update 2 : If you're interested in this question, check out this too.
