    I store file’s attributes (size, update time…) in database. So the problem is how to manage transaction for database and file. In jee environment, JTA is just able to manage database transaction. In case, updating database is successful but file operation fails, should I write file-rollback method for this? Moreover, file operation in EJB container violates EJB spec. What’s your opinion? Thank!

    Hi, Through the housekeeping stuff my android application has to do is to read and write some files and sometimes to delete others and create new ones. The files in cause have all "sdcard/" as root. Is it safe if I perform all this task using Java style functions ? To me it is very handy to do it this way but I've read that not always the java functions can be applied when it comes to files in Android.

But it seems that Perl is the most popular language when it comes to CGI-based stuff. Why is that? Wouldn't it be faster programmed in C or machine code?     When I try to write a field that includes whitespace in it, it gets split into multiple fields on the space. What's causing this? It's driving me insane.     Hi, Is there any other method than nHibernate by wich we can generate db schema from class definition? My classes arn't that complex etc (few one-to-many relations). However I would like to just be able to save my objects in db and recreate schema if needed. I am stuck with .NET 2.0. I am not that particular about performance for this project, I am just lazy to create tables and write save/load code and deel with nHibernate xml. Thanks

    I am writing a client - server system in which I used NON-BLOCKING sockets. My problem is to detect error { while performing send() or write() } that may occur while data transfer. Example lets say, while the data is being transferred the peer crashes.   • ASP.NET Writing to the Bin directory, access denied when anonymous user

    Hi all I have a program that creates a small file in the Bin directory for the purpose of tracking a license (that's the intention), all works fine when debugging but I've just realized that when I run it on a IIS server under the anonymous user account (IUSR) the file isn't created as IUSR only has read permission (I know this is correct but drat!). Can I write to another location under IUSR account or can I run my code under 'Local Service' account? Thanks
