Can I configure a strongly typed data set to use nullable values?

If I have a strongly typed data table with a column for values of type Int32, and this column allows nulls, then I'll get an exception if I do this for a row where the value is null: int value = row.CustomValue; Instead I need to do this: if (!row.IsCustomValueNull()) { int value = row.CustomValue; // do something with this value } Ideally I would like to be able to do this: int? value = row.CustomValue; Of course I could always write my own method, something like GetCustomValueOrNull; but it'd be preferable if the property auto-generated for the column itself simply returned a nullable. Is this possible?

I modified my data source in my LINQ-to-SQL class (by the old delete and drag back in method), and was surprised to see the INotifyPropertyChanging & INotifyPropertyChanged interfaces no longer implemented in the generated classes (MyDb.designer.cs). The methods for the individual fields went from looking like this... [Column(Storage="_Size", DbType="NVarChar(100)")] public string Size { get { return this._Size; } set { if ((this._Size != value)) { this.OnSizeChanging(value); this.SendPropertyChanging(); this._Size = value; this.SendPropertyChanged("Size"); this.OnSizeChanged(); } } } To looking like this... SQL error C# - Parameter already defined

Hey there. I have a c# application that parses txt files and imports the data from them into a sql db. I was using sqlite and am now working on porting it to sql server. It was working fine with sqlite but now with sql i am getting an error when it is processing the files. It added the first row of data to the db and then says "parameter @PartNumber has already been declared. Variable names must be unique within a batch or stored procedure". Datepicker BeforeShowDay CSS problem with content styling

I think I'm not the only one having this problem. Whenever I try to apply a BeforeShowDay a new CSS class, the content of the "special date" is not being modified. I tried changing the default theme, adding a new class, but this is affecting only the outside border and not the inside content. Using Firebug I found that the html code being printed is the following: <td class=" ui-state-content ui-state-anulados" onclick="DP_jQuery.datepicker._selectDay('#datepicker',9,2009, this);return false;" title="Paddle"> <a class="ui-state-default" href="#">16</a> </td> So, my class would be ui-state-content ui-state-anulados but I notice that the ui-state-default class is being applied automatically and I suspect that this may be the problem. I really don't know how to solve this. I've been looking inside ui.datepicker.js code and I think I found the line that is giving me this problems. It is line number 1394 and it has the following code. (ui.datepicker.js) (unselectable ? Hi, I am using a dropdown to populate a textbox. But if preferred value is not present in dropdown then user directaly enter value in that textbox. If user selects value from dropdown first and then he don't want that value and he types another text in that textbox then at this time the dropdown should be set to index 0 as user is typing another value. I used textchanged event of textbox but it is not working. Can anyone tell me how to write javascript for this? Thanks in advance.

Is there a secure p2p distributed database?

I'm looking for a distributed hash table to store and retrieve values securely. These are my requirements: It must use an existing popular p2p network (I must guarantee my key/value will be stored and kept in multiple peers). None but myself should be able to edit or delete the key/value. Ideally an encryption key that only I have access to would be required to edit my key value. All peers would be able to read the key value (read-only access, only the key holder would be able to edit the value) Is there such p2p distributed hash table? Would the bittorrent distributed hash table meet my requirements?' Where could I find documentation?

Html POST and return the same form with the values

Hi, I'm learning web development, and I don't know how do this simple thing. I've a html form with "text", "radio" and "checkbox" controls, that POST the values to the server and it saves them, for example in a file. I save the POST in raw format: key=value&key=value&key=value&key=value and I'd like that when the user open the form back, return the form with the saved values already in the controls. Is there any neat way to do this? Or should I parse the POST string and set the values one by one in the controls at the server level? I think, I could return the saved data in a hidden input control, and after with a javascript I could do a getElementById(key) and set the value to each input control... but do I need to put the post string in a special format? How would you do it? Thank you in advance.

Watir question regarding selecting a hidden dropdown.

Hi, I have two dropdowns, the second dropdown does not show until a choice is made from the first one. Using watir, i can select the first dropdown, and when i watch it, the second one becomes active, but it cannot select it. i just tried the regular select_list using name and id. Sql server management studio 2008: what permissions are necessary to display table list?

In SSMS 2008, when I expand the tables folder, all i see is the "System Tables" folder. In SSMS 2005, when I connect to the exact same database with same account, I expand the tables folder and see all my tables. Has something changed with which tables are displayed by default? Does it only show tables in the default schema by default?

I am trying to figure out how to append a column to Linq query results based on the max value of the query. Essentially, I want to create an EnumerableRowCollection of DataRows that would include a max value record with the same value for each record. Generally there is a category menu and each link to a category page where shows all the items under that category. Now I need to show all the categories and products underneath with PHP/MySQL in the same page. So it will be like this. Category 1 description of category 1 item 1 item 2 .. I'm looking to turn off try blocks for a specific JSP page (though turning it off globally would be OK as well). From what I've gathered, it looks something like this: <jsp-param> <param-name>noTryBlocks</param-name> <param-value>true</param-value> </jsp-param> However, everywhere I see that sample it's for a weblogic.xml file. Does anybody know how I can set this JSP parameters for a Spring MVC application? web.xml? Calling javascript function with arguments using JSNI

I'm trying to integrate Mixpanel with GWT, but I have problems calling an event with a property and one value. My function to track an simple event (without values): public native void trackEvent(String eventName)/*-{ $wnd.mixpanel.track(eventName); }-*/; It works. But when I want to add some properties and values, it doesn't work properly: public native void trackComplexEvent(String eventName, String property, String value)/*-{ $wnd.mixpanel.track(eventName, {property:value}); }-*/; I have 2 problems with this: 1) Mixpanel says the property name is: "property"(yes, the name of the variable that I'm passing, not the value). 2) Mixpanel says the value is:undefined An example from mixpanel web is: mixpanel.track("Video Play", {"age": 13, "gender": "male"}); So, I guess the problem is I'm doing a wrong call or with wrong type of arguments.

How can I ignore properties of a component using Fluent Nhibernate's AutoPersistenceModel?

I am using Fluent NHibernate AutoMappings to map my entities, including a few component objects. One of the component objects includes a property like the following: public string Value { set _value = value; } This causes an NHibernate.PropertyNotFoundException: "Could not find a getter for property 'Value'..." I want to ignore this property. I tried creating an IAutoMappingOverride for the component class but I couldn't use AutoMapping<.IgnoreProperty(x = x.Value) for the same reason. "The property or indexer 'MyComponent.Value' cannot be used in this context because it lacks the get accessor" I've also looked at IComponentConvention but can't see anyway of altering the mappings with this convention. Any help would be appreciated... Thanks

I want to create a hgrc file to set the username and password for all paths on some machine, e.g no matter in which directory I am in, hg clone some_path will always work without prompting for a username and a password (this is for an auto-deploy script). I followed the instructions and created a file: /etc/mercurial/hgrc.d/deploy.rc it's contents: [auth] default.prefix= http://myrepo default.username = myuname default.password = pwd But when I do hg clone some_path I get abort: error: Connection refused. What Am i doing wrong?
