I am developing some plugins for Outlook using C# and this is a crucial part for both plugins.   • Still don't understand file upload-folder permissions

    I have checked out articles and tutorials. I don't know what to do about the security of my picture upload-folder. It is pictures for classifieds which should be uploaded to the folder. This is what I want: Anybody may upload images to the folder. The images will be moved to another folder, by another php-code later on (automatic). Only I may manually remove them, as well as another php file on the server which automatically empties the folder after x-days. What should I do here? The images are uploaded via a php-upload script. This script checks to see if the extension of the file is actually a valid image-file. When I try this: chmod 755 images the images wont be uploaded. But like this it works: chmod 777 images But 777 is a security risk right? Please give me detailed information... The Q is, what to do to solve this problem, not info about what permissions there are etc etc... Thanks If you need more info let me know...

    guys, anyone know how to scan a folder using jquery or javascript code snippet, after that get a picture file name and embed in <li></li> or <div></div>, i've used php code to read through the folder and loop through the element to display the thumbnails and all, but it's not work well. I've try on galleria, gallerific, galleryView jquery slideshow plugin but those might not work well with php processing because of predefined configuration or something, can anyone tweak or hack these gallery to dynamically read an image from a folder?

Is there any way to give current user (IIS User, in this case, ASP NET USER) permission to write to a specific folder location (folder inside our web application) using web.config? Because, it's getting boring to ask to the web hoster to gain access to a specific folder each time we want to do a file uploader on a website. I know it's maybe preaty simple to find an answer using google, but it keeps returning me how to write INTO web.config instead of permission to write into web.config FOR a specific folder. In addition, I'm french so my english is not at the top.

  • Changing Clickonce source folder

    We copy our production build in a separate folder using post-build events, and replace the app.config file with our production app.config. However Clickonce reads the files in bin\Release folder. I have also tried copying all files from our custom build location to bin\Release folder in the post-build event, but app.config is still overridden (I guess clickonce re-builds the project into bin\Release). Is it possible to tell Clickonce to read from our custom folder? Or, if that's not the right way to go, how do you handle this kind of situation?

    what i need is i have linked my project with the cruise control, so when ever a build happens i want to copy the bin folder to a seperate destination folder with version number. That is when the project build happens for the second time i dont want to replace the bin folder of the first build i want to save this with another version number. How can i do that.     I have two web applications that must share a file in the server file system. Both apps are inside of "Inetpub\wwwroot". The file cannot be accessed freely from outside, so it is in a folder out of "Inetpub". I have granted full NTFS permissions to the user "IUSR_whatever" (is the user that runs IIS in anonymous requests) in that folder. The folder has only that file, and has no other use. It works so far :) But, what is the risk? what should I be afraid of? As I see it, as long the folder is out of the "InetPub" cannot be accessed, and as long the apps don't have any security flaw like "path traversal" or server side code injection, it should be safe enough.... But I'm always keen to be wrong :) What do you think? May the file or even the server itself get compromised because of this? Thanks.

    TFS 2008 and Common Libraries I have created a Team Project called "Common Library" that will host code used in numerous different Team Projects throughout TFS. For sake of argument, lets say we have 2 distinct Librarys under the "Common Library" Team Projects, MailProject and LoggingProject. Other projects throughout TFS will be using the binary representation of these projects via branching and not the actual source code. What is the best way to set up the folder structure for this Team Project? Do I add the project to the "Common Library" and simply "include" the bin/release folder as part of the project? I have seen some examples of people creating a seperate "Deploy" folder. I assume this is synonamous with the bin/release folder?
