    Hi, maybe someone can help. I want to have on mapped Linq-Class different Datatype. But no when i want to place some logic for boolean, like this: private System.Nullable<short> _deleted = 1; [Column(Storage = "_deleted", Name = "deleted", DbType = "SmallInt", CanBeNull = true)] public bool deleted { get { if (this._deleted == 1) { return true; } return false; } set { if(value == true) { this._deleted = (short)1; }else { this._deleted = (short)0; } } } I get always runtime error: [TypeLoadException: GenericArguments[2], "System.Nullable`1[System.Int16]", on 'System.Data.Linq.Mapping.PropertyAccessor+Accessor`3[T,V,V2]' violates the constraint of type parameter 'V2'.] I can't change the database to bit.. I need to have casting in mapping class.

  • Connect to a wireless network programmatically

    I'm trying to write an application that connects to my company's wireless network automatically on windows XP. I've found the Wireless LAN API but it requires me to have some hotfix installed on the machine, and you need to have sp2 or higher(There are machines with SP1, and I'm required to support any XP machine). I've tried to find some samples about Wireless Zero Configuration on MSDN but with no luck, only samples I've found are for WinCE, I think Microsoft stopped supporting it. In addition I couldn't find where to download the dll and header file for working with the WZC. There must be a way to do it and work on any service pack because I've found Zwlancfg by ENGL

  • Quartz Scheduler - Not running the task

    I am working on scheduling the tasks using Quartz API. I tried scheduling notepad.exe and in the logs, I see the following line - org.quartz.jobs.NativeJob runNativeCommand About to runcmd.exe /C c:/WINDOWS/notepad.exe ... But the notepad is not coming up. Same is the issue with any exe or batch file. I also see the notepad.exe as a running process in Task Manager.     Hi, I've a scenario where I need to bind to an interface - in order to create the correct type, I've got a custom model binder that knows how to create the correct concrete type (which can differ). However, the type created never has the fields correctly filled in.   • Facebook Graph API - authorization types?

    I'm struggling with the new Facebook Graph API, perhaps someone here can help. Here is what I want to do: provide a ‘login w/ FB’ button, throw to /authorize, get a code, throw to /access_token, get an access_token, and be able to hit https://graph.facebook.com/me for info about the user. When I try to use type=client_cred in the /authorize call, I get an access_token that lets me hit URLs with userIDs or names, but not /me. I receive an error stating I need a valid token. If I can't hit /me, how do I figure out who the current user is? What exactly should I use in the type param if I want a website to access a users data? I've seen posts with type=web_server, etc, but I can't seem to find a sure fire way to do, what I think, is pretty simple... Thanks ahead of time for any help thats provided...

  • Issue allowing custom Xml Serialization/Deserialization on certain types of field

    I've been working with Xml Serialization/Deserialization in .net and wanted a method where the serialization/deserialization process would only be applied to certain parts of an Xml fragment. This is so I can keep certain parts of the fragment in Xml after the deserialization process. To do this I thought it would be best to create a new class (XmlLiteral) that implemented IXmlSerializable and then wrote specific code for handling the IXmlSerializable.ReadXml and IXmlSerializable.WriteXml methods. In my example below this works for Serializing, however during the Deserialization process it fails to run for multiple uses of my XmlLiteral class. In my example below sTest1 gets populated correctly, but sTest2 and sTest3 are empty. I'm guessing I must be going wrong with the following lines but can't figure out why.. Any ideas at all?   • Objective-C classes, pointers to primitive types, etc.

    I'll cut a really long story short and give an example of my problem. Given a class that has a pointer to a primitive type as a property: @interface ClassOne : NSObject { int* aNumber } @property int* aNumber; The class is instantiated, and aNumber is allocated and assigned a value, accordingly: ClassOne* bob = [[ClassOne alloc] init]; bob.aNumber = malloc(sizeof(int)); *bob.aNumber = 5; It is then passed, by reference, to assign the aNumber value of a seperate instance of this type of class, accordingly: ClassOne* fred = [[ClassOne alloc] init]; fred.aNumber = bob.aNumber; Fred's aNumber pointer is then freed, reallocated, and assigned a new value, for example 7. Now, the problem I'm having; Since Fred has been assigned the same pointer that Bob had, I would expect that Bob's aNumber will now have a value of 7. It doesn't, because for some reason it's pointer was freed, but not reassigned (it is still pointing to the same address it was first allocated which is now freed). Fred's pointer, however, has the allocated value 7 in a different memory location. Why is it behaving like this? What am I minsunderstanding? How can I make it work like C++ does?

Since I upgraded Windsor, I now get the following exception at runtime: Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request.     I have a question of how to sort an anonymous type. Using Linq2SQL I have the following query, which returns a list of submissions: var submissions = EventSubmissions .Where(s => s.EventId.Equals(eventId)); Consider the following interface (somewhat simplyfied): public interface IQuerySorter { IOrderedQueryable Sort(IQueryable query); IOrderedQueryable<T> Sort<T, U>(IQueryable<T> query, Expression<Func<T,U>> selector); ... } Using this interface allows me to implement a number of 'sorters', e.g. on Date, Rating or whether or not a submission has been nominated (for voting). sortedQuery = sorter.Sort(submissions) So far so good. A submission can be made "votable". I get the number of votes a nominated submission may have using the following query: var withVoteCount = submissions .Select(s => new {NumberOfVotes = s.Votes.Count(), Submission = s}); I would like to sort this new query by NumberOfVotes using my "general" sorter class, but run into the problem that the anonymous type/member does not seem to live outside the repository-method, hence I am unable to sort on it. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

  • File extensions and MIME Types in .NET

    I want to get a MIME Content-Type from a given extension (preferably without accessing the physical file). I have seen some questions about this and the methods described to perform this can be resumed in: Use registry information. Use urlmon.dll's FindMimeFromData. Use IIS information. Roll your own MIME mapping function. Based on this table, for example. I've been using no.1 for some time but I realized that the information provided by the registry is not consistent and depends on the software installed on the machine. Some extensions, like .zip don't use to have a Content-Type specified. Solution no.2 forces me to have the file on disk in order to read the first bytes, which is something slow but may get good results. The third method is based on Directory Services and all that stuff, which is something I don't like much because I have to add COM references and I'm not sure it's consistent between IIS6 and IIS7. Also, I don't know the performance of this method. Finally, I didn't want to use my own table but at the end seems the best option if I want a decent performance and consistency of the results between platforms (even Mono). Do you think there's a better option than using my own table or one of other described methods are better? What's your experience?

  • Performance penalty of typecasting and boxing/unboxing types in C# when storing generic values

    I have a set-up similar to WPF's DependencyProperty and DependencyObject system. My properties however are generic. A BucketProperty has a static GlobalIndex (defined in BucketPropertyBase) which tracks all BucketProperties. A Bucket can have many BucketProperties of any type. A Bucket saves and gets the actual values of these BucketProperties... now my question is, how to deal with the storage of these values, and what is the penalty of using a typecasting when retrieving them? I currently use an array of BucketEntries that save the property values as simple objects. Is there any better way of saving and returning these values?     We've configured our Flex client to have two channels for calling our services via BlazeDS. One channel is configured to use AMFChannel and the other for HTTPChannel. The problem is that although the client can switch between channels it sends an AMF binary payload when attempting to call services via AMFX (expecting XML). The funny thing is that we can write services-config.xml to use either AMF or AMFX individually but Flex doesn't seem to want to let us use both. Is this a bug in Flex? If not how can we get it to use the correct protocol?

  • llvm's getelementptr instruction with array types

    I'm trying to use array type in llvm and can't get a hold of it yet. As far as I can understand from documentation, array should grow all by itself. But how does it happen, should I just getelementptr with whatever index I have and it'll grow so that index will still be in bounds? That's not what happens, I get all sorts of funny problems which hide away the moment I create array big enough to accommodate all my data.     Is there a method of shortening PowerShell namespace references? Typing [RootNameSpace1.NameSpace2.Namepsace3+SomeEnum]::SomeValue is taxing and not a very good user expierence. I realize that you can reference System level objects without a namespace such that [Type]::GetType(... will work. Is there some manifest I could create or command I could use to shorten lengthy namespaces?

    Hi I have a situation which seems a bit different from others I've seen. For clarrification, this isn't the normal question eg; something like IAClass maps to AClass etc - that involves using basically a single concrete classes per interface. This involves having a single generic class, but I want to be able to load ALL possible usages of it. Eg - the main class is of public class MyClass<TDomainObject> : IMyClass<TDomainObject> where TDomainObject : DomainObject So example usages would be IMyClass<Person> p = new MyClass<Person>; IMyClass<Employer> p = new MyClass<Employer>; I.e. for all DomainObjects I would like to be able to load a MyClass< for. So you can see I don't use a specific class for each declaration, they all use the same one. How would I get this loaded into StructureMap?

  • Naming conventions for private members of .NET types

    Normally when I have a private field inside a class or a struct, I use camelCasing, so it would be obvious that it's indeed private when you see the name of it, but in some of my colleagues' C# code, I see that they use m_ mostly or sometimes _, like there is some sort of convention. Aren't .NET naming conventions prevent you from using underscores for member names? And when you mention the MS naming conventions or what not, they tell you it's the best way, but don't explain the reasoning behind it.

Answers to a similar SO question proposed JACOB. I've looked at JACOB, but that is based on IDispatch, and is aimed at controlling Automation serers. The COM interfaces I need are custom vtable (extend IUnknown), e.g. IPersistStream, IOleWindow, IContextMenu etc. For my use case, I could implement all the COM specifics in JNI, and have the JNI layer call corresponding interfaces in java. But I'm hoping for a less painful solution. It's for an open source project, so open source alternatives are preferred.

  • Storing statistics of multple data types in SQL Server 2008

    I am creating a statistics module in SQL Server 2008 that allows users to save data in any number of formats (date, int, decimal, percent, etc...). Currently I am using a single table to store these values as type varchar, with an extra field to denote the datatype that it should be. When I display the value, I use that datatype field to format it. I use sprocs to calculate the data for reporting; and the datatype field to convert to the appropriate datatype for the appropriate calculations. This approach works, but I don't like storing all kinds of data in a varchar field. The only alternative that I can see is to have separate tables for each datatype I want to store, and save the record information to the appropriate table based on datatype. To retreive, I run a case statement to join the appropriate table and get the data. This seems to solve. This however, seems like a lot of work for ... what gain? Wondering if I'm missing something here. Is there a better way to do this? Thanks in advance!
