• [C++] Needed: A simple C++ container (stack, linked list) that is thread-safe for writing

  I am writing a multi-threaded program using OpenMP in C++. At one point my program forks into many threads, each of which need to add "jobs" to some container that keeps track of all added jobs. Each job can just be a pointer to some object. Basically, I just need the add pointers to some container from several threads at the same time. Is there a simple solution that performs well? After some googling, I found that STL containers are not thread-safe. Some stackoverflow threads address this question, but none form a consensus on a simple solution.

  I am having difficulties with trying to load a user by their id, for some reason my http.get call isn't hitting my controller. I get the following error in the browser console: TypeError: undefined is not a function at new <anonymous> (http://localhost:9000/scripts/controllers/users.js:10:8) Update I've fixed my code up as per comments below, but now my code just enters an infinite loop in the angular users controllers (see code below).   Hi, In my application I m using following coding convention to open my default screen :-- AppDelegate *ptrDefaultScreen = (AppDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication]delegate]; [self.navigationController presentModalViewController:ptrDefaultScreen.FrmFlashScreenLink animated:YES]; but when I move to other screen after default screen ,my default screen is still exists even i used [self dismissModelViewController:YES]; to dimiss default screen from view. where I m wrong I want my default screen will be completely removed from view. Is any other way to call default screen before actual application. Please help me out.Thanks in advance

• Live Messenger SimilarityTable2 file

  I am trying to free up some space on my laptop's hard disk and am using a tool (SpaceMonger) that will show me a treemap of the whole disk. The problem I have comes from Live Messenger's SimilarityTable2 file. I have no idea what it is for, but I know that it is a sparse file, meaning that it shows as taking up 8GB of disk space, but actually only takes up 132KB of space on disk. The problem is that because SpaceMonger thinks this file is 8GB, it swamps the other files and takes up most of the treemap, making it hard to see the other files that really are large. Is this file safe to delete? If not, how do I make its actual size on disk match its reserved size? If that's not possible, how can I make SpaceMonger (or another treemap tool) use the real size of the file and not the reserved size? EDIT: I've just realised that I have some NTFS junctions set up, meaning that the same set of directories appear twice. Is there any way to stop this happening as well?

  I have installed encfs and started using it to secure all my personal & office data and it was working absolutely fine until 2 hours back. The setup is like this. I have a folder in Copy folder called OfficeData which gets synchronized with my Copy folder When I login into the system I use the command encfs ~/Copy/OfficeData ~/Documents/OfficeData Once my work is over I dismount with the command fusermount -u ~/Documents/OfficeData All this data get synchronized with my desktop and with my mobile phone (as a backup) Today when I mounted, the folder got mounted by no directories and files present in that folder.   Hi there! Here is my problem (unfortunatelly didn't find solution @google): I'm loading external swf[AS2] into main swf[AS3] using Loader class. The main swf is 800 x 600 and the external swf is 300 x 200. After adding the external swf to the main swf the external swf expands it's size from 300 x 200 to the main swf's size: 800 x 600. My question is say I have a jpeg file that is 200 px by 200 px, how can one calculate what the maximum size that file could be in terms of megabytes/bytes? I need to know what the max size that this file can conceivably reach. It is always going to be 200x200.   I want my UIView subclass to behave so that when it is fitted in portrait orientation is has a certain size and another size when fitted in landscape mode. Is it possible to have the view indicate to the view controller that's resizing it when the orientation changes that it has this "ideal size"? To clarify, I'm confident that this is not something that can be done with the autoresizing mask. I also thought that sizeThatFits: would be what I need but I didn't see it get called when the orientation changed. I'm also aware that I can get this done by overriding layoutSubviews of the superview (or maybe some other method of the view controller but I would like to have this behavior embedded in the view to facilitate reuse.

  I want to quickly find the total size of any folder using python. def GetFolderSize(path): TotalSize = 0 for item in os.walk(path): for file in item[2]: try: TotalSize = TotalSize + getsize(join(item[0], file)) except: print("error with file: " + join(item[0], file)) return TotalSize That's the simple script I wrote to get the total size of the folder, it took around 60 seconds (+-5 seconds). By using multiprocessing I got it down to 23 seconds on a quad core machine. Using the Windows file explorer it takes only ~3 seconds (Right click- properties to see for yourself). So is there a faster way of finding the total size of a folder close to the speed that windows can do it? Windows 7, python 2.6 (Did searches but most of the time people used a very similar method to my own) Thanks in advance.

  Is there any way to make two controls that are in different containers the same size in WPF? For example, suppose you have two textboxes: textbox1 and textbox2. Textbox1 is in a grid and its size can grow and shrink when the user resizes the window. Textbox2 is in another part of the window and I need it to always have the same size as textbox1. Is there any way to do this? Keep in mind SharedSizeGroup will not work because the textboxes are in different containers. Also, I've tried binding textbox2's height property to textbox1 and that doesn't seem to work either. Finally, I tried catching textbox1's SizeChanged event, but its Height property is always NaN for some reason.

• Increase file upload size limit in iis6

  Is there any other place besides the metabase.xml file where the file upload size can be modified? I am currently running a staging server with IIS6 and it is setup to allow uploading of files up to 20mb. This works perfectly fine. I have a new production server where I am trying to setup this same available size limit. So I edited the metabase.xml file and set it to 20971520. Then I restarted IIS and that didn't work. So I then restarted the entire server, that also didn't work. I can upload files around 2mb so it is definitely allowing file sizes larger then the standard 200kb default size. I try uploading a 5mb file and my upload.aspx page completely crashes. Is it possible there is something else I need to configure? The production server is located on a server farm, could there be some limits set on there end? Thanks

  I need to run a Java memory intensive application that uses more than 2GB, but I am having problems to increase the heap maximum size. So far, I have tried the following approaches: Setting the -Xmx parameter, e.g. -Xmx3000m. This approaches fails at the creation of the JVM. From what I've googled, it looks like that -Xmx must be less than 2GB. Using the -XX:+AggressiveHeap option. When I try this approach I get an 'Not enough memory' error that tells that the heap size is 1273.4 MB, even though my computer has 8GB of memory.   Is there a maximum size of executables or executables + shared objects on the iPhone? I've been developing an app that has been crashing on startup or early in execution with SIGSYS. Removing code from the program has helped, though structuring data so the code is simply not executed does not. This could be memory corruption, of some kind, however when I compiled with -Os rather than -O2 or -O3 the size of my executable goes down from 5.15MB to 3.60MB and the application runs perfectly. I also have a bunch of libraries I use, of course. I'm wondering, is there a limit on the size of executable code on the iPhone? Or am I just 'getting lucky' and masking memory corruption when I use -Os?

• Streaming data to the browser as a file of unknown size

  I have some data which is queried from the database and I'd like to send it to the client as a csv file. The file size varies each time due to the fact that the DB data returned can be of any size. Instead of saving this file to the hard disk, I'd like to send it to the browser at the same time it's being processed into a CSV by my algorithm. Response.Write seems useless. For some reason, the file download dialog is only displayed once my processing is finished. This seems odd as I'm writting all my output to the Response.Output stream. I have downloaded files on the web before where the filesize is not known and the browser just keeps on downloading. Is there any way to achieve this? • Image size in DB?

  I made an application that store Item pictures (jpeg) in SQL Server DB, the use shot pictures with his camera (file size ~ 2 M), in my aaplication I check if picture.Width 800 or picture.Height 600, I resize the picture to 800x600. -- if I export picture from DB, the file size is about 100k, if I open the same picture in photoshop, the image size shows 1.37M. 01-- I want to know the space that takes this picture in my DB. The reason I'm resizing the picture before storing it in my DB, is that I imagine it take a huge space in my DB. 02-- How to resize a picture to keep it' s aspect ratio?
