• How to read utf-8 xml from vbs and get correct character code

  I'm trying to read xml file from vbs script. Xml is encoded in utf-8 and has appropriate header From vbs script I use microsoft xmldom parser to read xml: Dim objXMLDoc Set objXMLDoc = CreateObject( "Microsoft.XMLDOM" ) objXMLDoc.load("vbs_strings.xml") Inside xml I'm trying to write character by code using &#nnn; notation. Then I read this character from vbscript and try to get it's code using Asc() function. For some characters it works fine and read code is equal to one written. But for some characters Asc() always returns code 63. What could it be? Examples: If xml contains <section>&#195;<section> and in script I have Section variable for representing this xml node then code: Asc(Section.Text) will return value 195 and it's ok. If xml contains <section>&#110;<section> then code: Asc(Section.Text) will return value 110 and it's ok. But if xml contains <section>&#130;<section> or <section>&#156;<section> or <section>&#140;<section> Asc(Section.Text) will return value 63 and it's definitely not good. Do you know why?

  Hi all, I am using this script to apply style on a select box. It works fine as a standalone version. But I also need to apply a jump menu functionality on this select box. I tried adding a function but it seems that there is some conflict between the two scripts. The jquery styling and the jump menu function can't work together at the same time. Can you help me fix it? • MSBuild "Wrapper" fails while VS2010 "Pure" compile succeeds for MFC application in CruiseControl.NE

  The Overview I am working on a Continuous Integration build of a MFC appliction via CruiseControl.net and VS2010. When building my .sln, a "Visual Studio" CCNet task (devenv) works, but a wrapper MSBuild script run via the CCNet MSBuild task fails with errors like: error RC1015: cannot open include file 'winres.h'.. error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'afxwin.h': No such file or directory error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'afx.h': No such file or directory The Question How can I adjust the build environment of my msbuild wrapper so that the application builds correctly? (Pretty clearly the MFC paths aren't right for the msbuild environment, but how do i fix it for MSBuild+VS2010+MFC+CCNet?) Background Details We have successfully upgraded an MFC application (.exe with some MFC extension .dlls) to Visual Studio 2010 and can compile the application without issue on developer machines. Now I am working on compiling the application on the CI server environment I did a full installation of VS2010 (Professional) on the build server. In this way, I knew everything I needed would be on the machine (one way or another) and that this would be consistent with developer machines. VS2010 is correctly installed on the CI server, and the devenv task works as expected I now have a wrapper MSBuild script that does some extended version processing and then builds the .sln for the application via an MSBuild task. This wrapper script is run via CCNet's MSBuild task and fails with the above mentioned errors My Assumptions This seems to be a missing/wrong configuration of include paths to standard header resources of the MFC persuasion I should be able to coerce the MSBuild environment to consider the relevant resource files from my VS2010 install and have this approach work. But how do I do that? Am I setting Environment variables? Registry settings? I can see how one can inject additional directories in some cases, but this seems to need a more systemic configuration at the compiler defaults level.

• Exclude string from wildcard in bash

  Hi, I'm trying to adapt a bash script from "Sams' Teach Yourself Linux in 24 Hours" which is a safe delete command called rmv. The files are removed by calling rmv -d file1 file2 etc. In the original script a max of 4 files can by removed using the variables $1 $2 $3 $4. I want to extend this to an unlimited number of files by using a wildcard. So I do: for i in $* do mv $i $HOME/.trash done The files are deleted okay but the option -d of the command rmv -d is also treated as an argument and bash objects that it cannot be found. Is there a better way to do this? • Iterating through folders and files in batch file?

  Here's my situation. A project has as objective to migrate some attachments to another system. These attachments will be located to a parent folder, let's say "Folder 0" (see this question's diagram for better understanding), and they will be zipped/compressed. I want my batch script to be called like so: BatchScript.bat "c:\temp\usd\Folder 0" I'm using 7za.exe as the command line extraction tool. What I want my batch script to do is to iterate through the "Folder 0"'s subfolders, and extract all of the containing ZIP files into their respective folder. It is obligatory that the files extracted are in the same folder as their respective ZIP files. So, files contained in "File 1.zip" are needed in "Folder 1" and so forth. I have read about the FOR...DO command on Windows XP Professional Product Documentation - Using Batch Files. Here's my script: @ECHO OFF FOR /D %folder IN (%%rootFolderCmdLnParam) DO FOR %zippedFile IN (*.zip) DO 7za.exe e %zippedFile I guess that I would also need to change the actual directory before calling 7za.exe e %zippedFile for file extraction, but I can't figure out how in this batch file (through I know how in command line, and even if I know it is the same instruction "cd"). Anyone's help is gratefully appreciated.

• Duplicate entries on mysql on insert using doctrine

  Hi all! I am facing a very weird problem with mysql and doctrine [with help of codeIgniter]. I am trying to make a simple migration script taking all records from one table and after a little process, saving them to another. However, on my laptop [running windows and wamp] I get double numbers of the original table records to have been copied to the destination table. In my colleagues' laptops, everything works fine! We are all using mysql 5.0.86 [plus windows plus wamp]. ' Id -> saved.' } } Simple as that! I have 39 records on the Old table and I am getting 78 records in the new table, which are exactly the same records, except from the unique primary key. It seems as if the script runs twice. But the output of the script is the following : 1 Id -> saved. 2 Id -> saved. ... ... 39 Id -> saved. Do you have any idea why this is happening?   Hello. I'm writting a script to automate creating configuration files for Apache and PHP for my own webserver. I don't want to use any GUIs like CPanel or ISPConfig. I have some templates of Apache and PHP configuration files. Bash script needs to read templates, make variable substitution and output parsed templates into some folder. What is the best way to do that? I can think of several ways. Which one is the best or may be there are some better ways to do that?   How can I convert this Perl code to Groovy? How to bypass confirmation prompts of an external process? I am trying to convert a Perl script to Groovy. The program is loading/delete maestro (job scheduling) jobs automatically. The problem is the delete command will prompt for confirmation (Y/N) on every single job that it finds. I tried the process execute in groovy but will stop at the prompts. The Perl script is writing bunch of Ys to the stream and print it to the handler( if I understood it correctly) to avoid stopping. I am wondering how to do the same thing in Groovy ? Or any other approach to execute a command and somehow write Y on every confirmation prompt.   I'm having an issue with jQuery UI Tabs script which does not pick up tabs that have a dot "." in their name (ID). For instance like this: <script type="text/javascript"> $(function () { $("#tabgroup\\.services").tabs(); }); </script> <div id="tabgroup.Services"> <ul> <li><a href="#tab.service1"> Service 1 title</a></li> <li><a href="#tab.service2"> Service 2 title</a></li> </ul> <div id="tab.service1"> <p>content</p> </div> <div id="tab.service2"> <p>content</p> </div> </div> The problem is because to select an element with a dot in its name, you need to use escapes (like when I initialize the tabs on my tabgroup). And apparently the Tabs JS implementation does not do that. Although I can do it at the tab group level, I cannot do it lower down because that's implemented in the Tabs JS file and I would not want to modify it (if possible).

At onunload I want an alert that asks the user if they would like to go to a related URL. The code I'm using works, but it open the URL in a new window and this can be blocked by a pop-up blocker even though the user has opted-in. Is there a way to have it open in the same window and negate the pop-up blocker? 2.) is there a way to take the onunload function out of the body tag and put it the script?   Hi! I previously was using SQL-DMO to automatically generate scripts from the database. Now I upgraded to SQL Server 2008 and I don’t want to use this feature anymore since Microsoft will be dropping this feature off. • How to print a Perl 2-dimensional array?

• Full text index requires dropping and recreating - why?

  Hi all, So I've got a web app running on .net 3.5 connected to a SQL 2005 box. We do scheduled releases every 2 weeks. About 14 tables out of 250 are full text indexed. After not every release, but a few too many, the indexes crap out. They seem to have data in there, but when we try to search them from the front end or SQL enterprise we get timeouts/hangs. We have a script that disables the indexes, drops them, deletes the catalog and then re creates the indexes. This fixes the problem 99 times out of 100. and the one other time, we run the script again and it all works We have tried just rebuilding the fulltext index but that doesn't fix the issue. My question is why do we have to do this ? what can we do to sort the index out? • jQuery .load() and sub-pages

  Hi, I am not just a newbie with Javascript. I am developing a simple site to get my hands on web programming. The web site is simple and structure is like this: A simple ul/li/css based navigation menu Sub pages are loaded in "div" using jQuery, when ever user click appropriate menu item. Some of the sub-pages are using different jQuery based plugins such as LightWindow, jTip etc. The jQuery function that loads the sub-page is like this: function loadContent(htmlfile){ jQuery("#content").load(htmlfile); }; The menu items fires loadContent method like this: <li><a href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="loadContent('overview.html');return false">overview</a></li> This loads a sub-page name "overview.html" inside the "div". That's it. Now this is working fine but some of the sub-pages using jQuery based plugins are not working well when loaded inside the "div". If you load them individually in the browser they are working fine. Based on above I have few qustions: Most of the plugins are based on jQuery and sub-pages are loaded inside the "index.html" using "loadContent" function. Do I have to call <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery-1.4.2.min.js"></script> on each and every sub-page? If a page is using a custom jQuery plugin, then where do I call it? In "index.html" or on the page where I am using it? I think what ever script you will call in "index.html", you don't to have call them again in any of the sub pages you are using. Am I right here? • PHP Regex to remove nested form elements but not input elements

  I'm modifying a PHP script that I have and it is currently outputting a nested form. Something like: <form name="input" action="html_form_action.asp" method="get"> <p>stuff here here, this may or may not be in a div, script, etc..</p> <form name="input" action="html_form_action.asp" method="get"> <div>stuff here possibilly</div> Username: <input type="text" name="user" /> <input type="submit" value="Submit" /> </form> <p>otherstuff this may or may not be in a div, script, etc..</p> </form> Nested form's are a no-no (IE hates them and basically causes the form to stop working), so I need to remove the nested form lines, but not the form items. I need to remove the nested: <form name="input" action="html_form_action.asp" method="get"> and </form> but not the outer <form and </form> or the input or submit stuff. Is this possible to do with regex? Note, the reason I just want to regex out the form rather than find the problem is because I know it will take some significant re-working to get rid of the double form... the regex solution is quick for now.

• Loading one page inside another

  User 'Citizen' provided an answer to the iframe situation with the ajax script from dynamic drive. As I predicted it although it loads one page inside another it does not work with the calculation scripts, collapsible panels, validation form. All of it simply not working. I have set up a test page that has the exact same HEAD section as the page that is loaded inside it, so it is not s problem of script location. Take a look and see if you can tell me what is going on. Baring in mind this is just a test page. On the test page the entire page is loaded from another and as you can see all the collapsible panels are open, all calculations except the duration are not working because another file that is loaded by ajax on the original page is not loading in this one, the accordion menu us not working and the validation form is not validating. It is as if all script triggers have been removed and left behind but like I said the HEAD section of the parent page contains all of the scripts as well. • Fast JSON serialization (and comparison with Pickle) for cluster computing in Python?

  I have a set of data points, each described by a dictionary. The processing of each data point is independent and I submit each one as a separate job to a cluster. Each data point has a unique name, and my cluster submission wrapper simply calls a script that takes a data point's name and a file describing all the data points. That script then accesses the data point from the file and performs the computation. Since each job has to load the set of all points only to retrieve the point to be run, I wanted to optimize this step by serializing the file describing the set of points into an easily retrievable format. I tried using JSONpickle, using the following method, to serialize a dictionary describing all the data points to file: def json_serialize(obj, filename, use_jsonpickle=True): f = open(filename, 'w') if use_jsonpickle: import jsonpickle json_obj = jsonpickle.encode(obj) f.write(json_obj) else: simplejson.dump(obj, f, indent=1) f.close() The dictionary contains very simple objects (lists, strings, floats, etc.) and has a total of 54,000 keys. The json file is ~20 Megabytes in size. It takes ~20 seconds to load this file into memory, which seems very slow to me. I switched to using pickle with the same exact object, and found that it generates a file that's about 7.8 megabytes in size, and can be loaded in ~1-2 seconds. This is a significant improvement, but it still seems like loading of a small object (less than 100,000 entries) should be faster. Aside from that, pickle is not human readable, which was the big advantage of JSON for me. Is there a way to use JSON to get similar or better speed ups? If not, do you have other ideas on structuring this? (Is the right solution to simply "slice" the file describing each event into a separate file and pass that on to the script that runs a data point in a cluster job? It seems like that could lead to a proliferation of files). thanks.
