  • Ajax BeginForm posting to an action that returns json, IE tries to download it

    Here is the code I am using to setup the form: <% using (Ajax.BeginForm("SaveCroppedPhoto", new { Id = Model.memberId.GetValueOrDefault() }, new AjaxOptions { OnBegin = "ProfileOnBegin", OnComplete = "ProfileOnComplete", OnFailure = "ProfileOnFailure", OnSuccess = "ProfileOnSuccess" }, new { id = "cropPhotoForm" })) {%> My action result returns a json result as follow: return Json(new { success }); In IE8 when the action returns, it tries to download the result. The content type coming back is application/json. Anyone have any idea how to stop IE from trying to download the result?

The below source came directly from the open layers example site, I just added and activated polygons to the map. Please let me know how I can fix this for using the Bing Map API.. I've been stuck on this for HOURS! :(

  • Race condition for thread startup

    A similar question was asked here, but the answers generally all seem to relate to the lambda notation. I get a similar result without the lambda so I thought I'd ask for some clarification: Say I have something like this: for (int i = 0; i < 5; i++) (new Thread(new ThreadStart(delegate() { Console.WriteLine("Thread " + i); }))).Start(); One would expect the following output: Thread 0 Thread 1 Thread 2 Thread 3 Thread 4 Now I realise that the threads aren't started in any particular order, so let's just assume that the above lines can come out in any order. But that is not what happens. What instead happens: Thread 3 Thread 4 Thread 4 Thread 4 Thread 4 or something similar, which leads me to believe that rather than passing the value if i, it is passing the reference. (Which is weird, since an int is a value type). Doing something like this: for (int i = 0; i < 5; i++) (new Thread(new ThreadStart(delegate() { int j = i; Console.WriteLine("Thread " + j); }))).Start(); does not help either, even though we have made a copy of i. I am assuming the reason is that it hasn't made a copy of i in time. Doing something like this: for (int i = 0; i < 5; i++) { (new Thread(new ThreadStart(delegate() { Console.WriteLine("Thread " + i); }))).Start(); Thread.Sleep(50); } seems to fix the problem, however it is extremely undesirable as we're wasting 50ms on each iteration, not to mention the fact that if the computer is heavily loaded then maybe 50ms may not be enough. Here is a sample with my current, specific problem: Thread t = new Thread(new ThreadStart(delgate() { threadLogic(param1, param2, param3, param4); })); t.Start(); param1 = param2 = param3 = param4 = null; with: void threadLogic(object param1, object param2, object param3, object param4) { // Do some stuff here... } I want threadLogic() to run in its own thread, however the above code gives a null reference exception. I assume this is because the values are set to null before the thread has had a chance to start. Again, putting a Thread.Sleep(100) works, but it is an awful solution from every aspect. What do you guys recommend for this particular type of race condition?

    I'm using CommonsGuy's drag n drop example and I am basically trying to integrate it with the Android notepad example. Drag N Drop Out of the 2 different drag n drop examples i've seen they have all used a static string array where as i'm getting a list from a database and using simple cursor adapter. So my question is how to get the results from simple cursor adapter into a string array, but still have it return the row id when the list item is clicked so I can pass it to the new activity that edits the note. After a minute my client gets a JIT TimeoutException however at the same time my MessageBox message appears. So obviously not only is my command being sent immediately, my callback is being correctly called. So why am I getting a timeout exception? Note: Even removing the MessageBox call, I still have this issue, so it's not an issue of the GUI blocking the callback response.

  • BroadcastReciever doesn't show SMS not Send or Not delivered

    While using broadcastreciver for checking sms status, it shows the toast when sms is sent but shows nothing when sms is not sent or delivered (im testing it by putting an abrupt number). the code im using is the one ive seen the most on every site of checking sms delivery status. But my code is only showing the status when sms is sent successfully. Can any one get a hint of what am i doing wrong ? I hav this method in doInBackground() and so obviously im using AsyncTask.     I have a problem I cant seem to solve here. Lets say I have some html like beneth here that I want to parse. All this html is within one list on the page. And the names repeat themself like in the example I wrote. <li class = "seperator"> a date </li> <li class = "lol"> some text </li> <li class = "lol"> some text </li> <li class = "lol"> some text </li> <li class = "seperator"> a new date </li> <li class = "lol"> some text </li> <li class = "seperator"> a nother new date </li> <li class = "lol"> some text </li> <li class = "lol"> some text </li> I did manage to use htmlagility pack to parse every li object seperate, and almost formating it how I want. My print atm looks something like this: "a date" "some text" "some text" "some text" "some text" "a new date" "some text" "a nother new date " "some text" "some text" "some text" What I want to achive: "a date" "some text" "a date" "some text" "a date" "some text" "a date" "some text" "a new date" "some text" "a nother new date " "some text" "a nother new date " "some text" "a nother new date " "some text" But the problem is that beneath every seperator, the count of every lol object may vary. So one day, the webpage may have one lol object beneth date 1, and the next day it may have 10 lol objects. So I am woundering if there is an smart/easy way to somehow count the number of lol objects in between the seperators. Or if there is another way to figure this out? Within for example htmlagilitypack. And yes, I need the correct date in front of every lol object, not just infront the first one. This would have been a pice of cake if the seperator class would have ended beneath the last lol object, but sadly that is not the case... I dont think that I need to paste my code here, but basicly what I do is to parse the page, extract the seperators and lol objects and add them to a list, where I split them up to seperator and lol objects. Then I print it out to a file and since the seperator only occure 3 times(in the example) I will only get out 3 seperate dates.

I encountered the following C++ code: String source = String::New("'Hello' + ', World'"); As what I understand so far, this should be a call to static member function 'New' of class 'String'. But, I've searched through the whole header file defining 'String', there is not any static member named 'New' in the String class or its super classes. Is there any special meaning attached to String class or the New member function in C++?

  • Rails nested form for belongs_to

    I'm new to rails and have some troubles with creating a nested form. My models: class User < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :company accepts_nested_attributes_for :company, :reject_if => :all_blank end class Company < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :users end Now i would like to create a new company from the user sign_up page (i use Devise btw) by given only a company name. And have a relation between the new User and new Company. In the console i can create a company for a existing User like this: @company = User.first.build_company(:name => "name of company") @company.save That works, but i can't make this happen for a new user, in my new user sign_up form i tried this (i know its wrong by creating a new User fist but im trying to get something working here..): <%= simple_form_for(resource, :as => resource_name, :html => { :class => 'form-horizontal' }, :url => registration_path(resource_name)) do |f| %> <%= f.error_notification %> <div class="inputs"> <% @user = User.new company = @user.build_company() %> <% f.fields_for company do |builder| %> <%= builder.input :name, :required => true, :autofocus => true %> <% end %> <%= f.input :email, :required => true, :autofocus => true %> <%= f.input :password, :required => true %> <%= f.input :password_confirmation, :required => true %> </div> <div class="form-actions"> <%= f.button :submit, :class => 'btn-primary', :value => 'Sign up' %> </div> I did my best to google for a solution/ example.. found some nested form examples but it's just not clear to me how to do this.
