• Java Swing architecture for flipping through JPane based views

  Hi all, I have done a couple of simple swing based apps with static layout, but now I've run into a problem while trying to create an app containing multiple views which are changed by pressing appropriate navigational button. You could compare the idea to a website so that every view has buttons to access certain other views but this would work inside a single JFrame. I've found that maybe CardLayout (Cardlayout example) might be appropriate solution for this kind of structure, but I'm unable to figure out a way to switch the views from the buttons which are inside of the JPanes that I've implemented in their separate classes, Of course one way would be to instantiate everything in the parent class like in the small java tutorial example, but this isn't quite clean nor modular for multiple views, isn't it. How can this be implemented so that I can access the view switching method?

• How to deploy a c# application while including third party DLL's?

  To start with, I don't know much of deployment. I hope my question makes sense. I need to install/deploy a c# application to a number of desktops. It needs a third-party DLL : a c++ library ("lpsolve55.dll", for those interested, it is a free MIP/LP solver, see lpsolve.sourceforge.net/5.5/). I use it in my code in the following way: [DllImport("lpsolve55.dll", SetLastError = true)] public static extern bool add_column(int lp, double[] column); For testing, I have manually copied the .dll file to to project\bin\release, it works fine. My question: I will need an installer for the application, which will manage that the .dll will install as well. I am considering clickonce deployment since I am using visual studio express (2008), but any not too expensive solution will do. What would you advice?

  MSDN says that public static members of System.Windows.Application are thread safe.   Test.java and SetWord.java belong to the package tools. Test.java needs to access SetWord but an odd error 'cannot find' SetWord appear. The package limits the visibility, it works without 'package tools;' lines. How can I acess the SetWords with Test in the same pkg? In general, how can classes access one another in the same pkg?   Hi, I am so confused about how to build up a 3-dimension lookup table. Is the template as follows: create a 3 dimensional array to store data. Then create linked list. Then create function 'insert' to put all the data into the array? As some book said, linked list should be static const, is it need to create another function to expand the list? Because the lookup table should be used in a microcontroller, it only needs to finish the operation of putting the data into the array and whenever want to find the data, it will be fast and easy to search. • Getting camera preview data without using a preview callback

  I have an app that does some processing to camera preview frames before displaying them to the user. I'm currently using preview callbacks to access the image data, but the problem I have is that the onPreviewFrame() function stops getting called if you start recording video using a MediaRecorder, and I want the processing to continue when video is being recorded. I've tried doing the following: public static Bitmap convertViewToBitmap(View view) { Bitmap bitmap = Bitmap.createBitmap(view.getWidth(),view.getHeight(), Bitmap.Config.ARGB_8888); view.draw(new Canvas(bitmap)); return bitmap; } to convert the preview surface to a bitmap, but when I pass the preview SurfaceView to the function it returns an all-black bitmap (it works when I test it on normal views though). Is there any other way I can access the image data if preview callbacks are not available?

• How to save an image in it's original format?

  I am trying to figure out how I can get the original format of an image so that I can store it with the same encoding. It seems that the only way to save an Image is by using a BitmapEncoder but I don't know how I can get the correct format from the image. Example: Clipboard.GetImage() returns a InteropBitmap which doesn't seem to contain any information about the original format. • Setting Corner Radius on UIImageView not working

  I'm at a bit of a loss. I've used the layer property of UIView to round the corners of multiple elements in my app. However, this one UIImageView is simply not complying. Not sure what I am missing. The UIImageView (called previewImage) is contained in a Table View Cell.   I want to remove all special characters from a string. Allowed characters are A-Z (uppercase or lowercase), numbers (0-9), underscore (_), or the dot sign (.).   Background I'm working on a symmetric rounding class and I find that I'm stuck with regards to how to best find the number at position x that I will be rounding. I'm sure there is an efficient mathematical way to find the single digit and return it without having to resort to string parsing. • How do I change the URL Alias for Security/login in SilverStripe to user/login

  I am working on a new website being built in SilverStripe. Currently I am having a ton of trouble trying to get the system to let me change the URL alias (or create a second one) for the Security controller's login (and eventually logout) function. I have tried playing around with the routes.yml file and I tried creating the paths in my own UserController and loading directly from the Security controller with "return Security::login()". But that gives me errors about the use of the static functions. Unfortunately I don't come from a ton of object oriented experience and this is the first CMS I have used that actually uses a bunch of true object orientation. The current version of SilverStripe we are using is 3.0 (but we will be upgrading to 3.1.1 in a few days). Does anyone know much about the routing in SilverStripe?

  Hi, I am writing an application, where I do have few different windows implemented, where each window is a separate class. Now I need somehow to pass a single configuration object to all of them. My GUI is designed in way, where I have one main window, which may create some child windows of its own, and these child windows can have their own childs (so there is no possibility to create all windows in initialization part and feed the config object to all of them from the very beginning)... What would be best practice for sharing this configuration object between them? Always passing via constructor or maybe making it somewhere as final public static and let each window object to access it when needed? Thanks
