  • UISegmentedControl not expanding size for navigation bar/very squished

    Running through an iPhone SDK book and one of the examples has me creating a table and then later adding a UISegmentedControl to the table for sorting. I dutifully did this in IB, and it looks great: When I run it in the simulator or my phone, it's totally squished: The buttons work perfectly, it's just they are not sizing according to their content. Any ideas what's going wrong? Here's the attributes I have set:

  • for loop with count from array, limit output? PHP

How do I get around this?   • I have to select the checkbox two times to check/uncheck in jTable

    I have a jTable code i intend to use, but the problem with it is that when i click on the checkbox once it doesn't select/deselect it, instead i have to click twice. But if i select any other cell in the row except the one containing the checkbox the purpose is solved.   • asp.net mvc & jquery dialog: What approach do I take to add items to a dropdownlist/select list with

    Hi, I am new to MVC and have a grasp of the basic model, but still doing everything with postbacks etc. One aspect of the UI I want to build is to have a drop-down-list of items with a button to add an item to the database and refresh the list. Achieving this with WebForms was straight forward as everything was wrapped in UpdatePanels, but what is the best approach to achieve this using MVC? Some examples show a lot of ajax code in the page something like: $.ajax({...}); I assume doing this using jquery is more code than asp.net webforms, but there is just more code to see doing a "View Source" on a page?   • What are the reasons *not* to use a GUID for a primary key?

    Whenever I design a database I automatically start with an auto-generating GUID primary key for each of my tables (excepting look-up tables) I know I'll never lose sleep over duplicate keys, merging tables, etc. To me it just makes sense philosophically that any given record should be unique across all domains, and that that uniqueness should be represented in a consistent way from table to table. I realize it will never be the most performant option, but putting performance aside, I'd like to know if there are philosophical arguments against this practice?

    I've been developing an SSRS 2005 report (a form letter) that contains two tables. The first "table" uses DataSet "A" to populate address fields on letterhead. The second table uses DataSet "B" to display a basic list of records that pertain to the addressed party. Even though the two tables are within the same page and all PageBreak* properties are set to "False", SSRS renders the report as two pages. How can I force both tables to render in series, without any forced page breaks?

    Hello I would like to show a fixed number of sections in a table view with a Fetched Results Controller as the data source. If you image the contacts app where sections organised by the alphabet, it will not have a header for B if there are no contacts in that section, so the section headers you see are A then C. I would like to display a section header in my table (for B), but without any rows. an empty section in effect. Can NSFetchedResultsController do this for me?
