• Import 3ds into JMonkeyEngine 3

  I have asked this question on SO, but I think it will be more suitable here. Basically, we are trying to import an animated character body (with skeleton) from 3D Studio Max to JMonkeyEngine 3, but while we succeeded at importing some animations, we cannot seem to export the skeleton to .skeleton.xml using OgreXML format. Since OgreXML seems to be the favored way to import models into JME, we dropped .obj files and such. Any help appreciated.

• Download files from a SharePoint site using the RSSBus SSIS Components

  In this article we will show how to use a stored procedure included in the RSSBus SSIS Components for SharePoint to download files from SharePoint. While the article uses the RSSBus SSIS Components for SharePoint, the same process will work for any of our SSIS Components. Step 1: Open Visual Studio and create a new Integration Services Project. Step 2: Add a new Data Flow Task to the Control Flow screen and open the Data Flow Task. Step 3: Add an RSSBus SharePoint Source to the Data Flow Task. Step 4: In the RSSBus SharePoint Source, add a new Connection Manager, and add your credentials for the SharePoint site. Step 5: Now from the Table or View dropdown, choose the name of the Document Library that you are going to back up and close the wizard. Step 6: Add a Script Component to the Data Flow Task and drag an output arrow from the 'RSSBus SharePoint Source' to it. Step 7: Open the Script Component, go to edit the Input Columns, and choose all the columns. Step 8: This will open a new Visual Studio instance, with a project in it. In this project add a reference to the RSSBus.SSIS2008.SharePoint assembly available in the RSSBus SSIS Components for SharePoint installation directory. Step 9: In the 'ScriptMain' class, add the System.Data.RSSBus.SharePoint namespace and go to the 'Input0_ProcessInputRow' method (this method's name may vary depending on the input name in the Script Component). Step 10: In the 'Input0_ProcessInputRow' method, you can add code to use the DownloadDocument stored procedure. This is the first release that supports SQL 2012 and consequently also the first release that runs in Visual Studio 2010. A big thanks to Greg Galloway for doing the bulk of the work on this release. Please note that if you are doing an xcopy deploy that you will need to unblock the files you download or you will get a cryptic error message. This appears to be caused by a security update to either Visual Studio or the .Net framework – the xcopy deploy instructions have been updated to show you how to do this. • Reading cpu temperature Intel Celeron (R) with lm-sensors

  I know there are already a lot of questions like this, but non of the answers provided there could fix my problem. I try to read out my cpu temperature with lm-sensors on my ubuntu 10.04 LTS installation but I can't get to work. I did try the command sensors-detect several times but still nothing. My computer is an old PC with an Intel Celeron (R) @ 2.60 GHz. The odd thing is that the hdd temp is shown in the applet but when I type in the terminal sensors I get the error: "No sensors found! Make sure you loaded all the kernel drivers you need." I'm not really interested in the hdd temperature but I think it is strange that these sensors do work in the applet and not in the terminal. • Why do I get an exception when playing multiple sound instances?

  Right now, I'm adding a rudimentary sound engine to my game. So far, I am able to load in a WAV file and play it once, then free up the memory when I close the game. However, the game crashes with a nice ArgumentOutOfBoundsException when I try to play another sound instance. Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. Parameter name: readLength I'm following this tutorial pretty much exactly, but I still keep getting the aforementioned error. • Microsoft Sql Server 2008 R2 System Databases

  For a majority of software developers little time is spent understanding the inner workings of the database management systems (DBMS) they use to store data for their applications.  I personally place myself in this grouping. In my case, I have used various versions of Microsoft’s SQL Server (2000, 2005, and 2008 R2) and just recently learned how valuable they really are when I was preparing to deliver a lecture on "SQL Server 2008 R2, System Databases". Microsoft Sql Server 2008 R2 System DatabasesSo what are system databases in MS SQL Server, and why should I know them? Microsoft uses system databases to support the SQL Server DBMS, much like a developer uses config files or database tables to support an application. These system databases individually provide specific functionality that allows MS SQL Server to function. Name Database File Log File Master master.mdf mastlog.ldf Resource mssqlsystemresource.mdf mssqlsystemresource.ldf Model model.mdf modellog.ldf MSDB msdbdata.mdf msdblog.ldf Distribution distmdl.mdf distmdl.ldf TempDB tempdb.mdf templog.ldf Master DatabaseIf you have used MS SQL Server then you should recognize the Master database especially if you used the SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) to connect to a user created database. MS SQL Server requires the Master database in order for DBMS to start due to the information that it stores. Examples of data stored in the Master database User Logins Linked Servers Configuration information Information on User Databases Resource DatabaseHonestly, until recently I never knew this database even existed until I started to research SQL Server system databases. The reason for this is due largely to the fact that the resource database is hidden to users. In fact, the database files are stored within the Binn folder instead of the standard MS SQL Server database folder path. This database contains all system objects that can be accessed by all other databases.  In short, this database contains all system views and store procedures that appear in all other user databases regarding system information. One of the many benefits to storing system views and store procedures in a single hidden database is the fact it improves upgrading a SQL Server database; not to mention that maintenance is decreased since only one code base has to be mainlined for all of the system views and procedures. Model DatabaseThe Model database as the name implies is the model for all new databases created by users. This allows for predefining default database objects for all new databases within a MS SQL Server instance. For example, if every database created by a user needs to have an “Audit” table when it is  created then defining the “Audit” table in the model will guarantees that the table will be located in every new database create after the model is altered. MSDB DatabaseThe MSDBdatabase is used by SQL Server Agent, SQL Server Database Mail, SQL Server Service Broker, along with SQL Server. The SQL Server Agent uses this database to store job configurations and SQL job schedules along with SQL Alerts, and Operators. In addition, this database also stores all SQL job parameters along with each job’s execution history.  Finally, this database is also used to store database backup and maintenance plans as well as details pertaining to SQL Log shipping if it is being used. Distribution DatabaseThe Distribution database is only used during replication and stores meta data and history information pertaining to the act of replication data. Furthermore, when transactional replication is used this database also stores information regarding each transaction. It is important to note that replication is not turned on by default in MS SQL Server and that the distribution database is hidden from SSMS. Tempdb DatabaseThe Tempdb as the name implies is used to store temporary data and data objects. Examples of this include temp tables and temp store procedures. It is important to note that when using this database all data and data objects are cleared from this database when SQL Server restarts. This database is also used by SQL Server when it is performing some internal operations. Typically, SQL Server uses this database for the purpose of large sort and index operations. Finally, this database is used to store row versions if row versioning or snapsot isolation transactions are being used by SQL Server. Additionally, I would love to hear from others about their experiences using system databases, tables, and objects in a real world environments.

  Where there is VPN to remote server and then access to the database via local network interface, how can one establish a remote link between one's computer (with a programme such as Visual Studio 2010) and SQL Server (e.g. 2008 R2) ?   OK here is the problem,I am using gnome-shell, ubuntu 12.04, kernel 3.2.0-32-generic-pae and the proprietary drivers for my ati card (Installed via "additional drivers") , the laptops is a hp 4310s probook and i want to control the power_profiles and power_method , because my GPU temp is high. before i reinstalled ubuntu 12.04, i used the .sh method on startup to write to those files, and everything worked like a charm, but now they are missing, and i can't create them.this is what i get when i try to create the directories mkdir: cannot create directory `/sys/class/drm': No such file or directory How can i can get them back?if you need some information , just ask and i will give it.

• CPU temperature is high on Ubuntu

  So I have a machine which has both latest *Ubuntu and Windows 8 on it. On windows 8 my CPU temp is roughtly 26 degrees when idle. Now when I boot into Ubuntu, CPU temperature is suddenly 43 degrees when idle, plus my fans are making a lot of noise which is probably because of the CPU degrees. Why is that? Everywhere I read it says the Linux is much better at managing CPU and so on. But yet it seems something is wrong. It is a stock installation of Ubuntu 14.04 and my CPU is a Intel i5-4570
