  I was wondering what does if __name__ == "__main__": really do in python, I have the following code in python3: def main(): test(); def test(): print("hello world " + __name__); if __name__ == "__main__": main(); we know that we have to declare a function before we use it, so function call inside of if part works fine, the main() is defined before it is called inside of if statement, but what about the test() function, it is defined after it is called and there is no errors: def main(): test(); def test(): print("hello world " + __name__); so how could it works if the test() function is defined after it is called?

  I have a VS project used for my .NET WCF host with some simple DTOs in it. I then have another project targeted for Silverlight with links to the files from the .NET-project. What's the best way automate the build, so that all files from the .NET project are automatically built to a Silverlight assembly too? I have tried the following in the Silverlight-library project: <Compile Include="..\KSLog.Core.Services.Shared\**\*.cs" Exclude="..\KSLog.Core.Services.Shared\Properties\AssemblyInfo.cs"></Compile> But when I do a build or a rebuild of the solution new files in the .NET project are not automatically added to the Silverlight project, and if I have deleted files in the .NET project, I get a compile error, saying the file is not found in the Silverlight project. Can I make it automatically update it self in some way? Or am I doing it all wrong?

Writing code that takes the text, splits it by whitespace or newlines or something, then processes each line and has a dictionary for variables. Or writing code that takes text and converts it to another programming language.   I am currently evaluating JMS and I don't get what I could use it for. Currently, I believe this would be a Usecase: I want to create a SalesInvoice PDF and print it when an SalesOrder leaves the Warehouse, so during the Delivery transaction I could send a transactional print request which just begins when the SalesOrder transaction completes successfully. Now I found out most JMS products are standalone server. Why would a need a Standalone Server for Message Processing, vs. e.g. some simple inproc processing with Quartz scheduler? How does it interact with my application? Isn't it much too slow? What are Usecases you already implemented successfully?

• SSRS 2008 Report.GetDefaultPageSettings returns incorrect information

  I have an application that retrieves a report from SSRS 2008 and prints it automatically. This works except it always prints the report in Letter/Portrait. This particular report is Letter/Landscape. I have tracked the problem down to when calling the Report.GetDefaultPageSettings() function for this report, it returns PaperSize.Height = 1100 and PaperSize.Width = 850. I even modified the report to a custom size of 11" x 8.4" and it still returns 850 for the width. I cannot get this to print correctly when it renders the image incorrectly based on these settings. The report prints correctly when accessed by a web browser. It is only when I am trying to automatically print it that the issue appears.

  I bought a Canon MF3200 and used it on an old Windows laptop. The laptop broke, and now I'm trying to setup the printer on a laptop with Windows 7. I downloaded the new driver, and Windows was able to install it and mark it "Ready to Go." But whenever I try to print, an error comes up and it doesn't print. I tried to troubleshoot, to no avail. What else can I do? Any ideas on what the error might be?

  I am working on unix. I want to knwo the current cpu usage of a process. I understood that ps give the average of cpu used till the process is up - it is not the current usage. Is there a way to print only the cpu from the top command without 10 more parameters and headers? I know how to do it with awk - this is not the way i want to do it. top -p 20705 -bc -n 1 | tail -n 2 | awk '{ print $9}' | head -n 1 If there is another simple way to do it, not reading /proc/stat... If there is a simple way doing it from c++, it is also ok.

• Why is Rake not able to invoke multiple tasks consecutively?

  I have a Rake task which I have simplified below. I'm using Ruby 1.9 on Windows. Perhaps you would like to guess the outcome of calling the Rake task "list_all_levels" below? It should be: "Hello level 1" "Hello level 2" "Hello level 3" But for reasons unknown to me, it prints only "Hello level 1" and then stops. That is, it always invokes only the first task. If I change the first line to pass the arg "42", it would print "Hello level 42" and then stop. I'm wondering why does it not invoke the task 3 times and print all 3 lines?   I am writting a Silverlight Business Application with WCF RIA link. I have 2 databases on same SQL server, Public and Private. The Public database contains a table which is mostly for public access level, like "user" table which has basic user information The Private database contains a table which has "private" information, user bank transactions etc I created 2 ADO.Net entity models, one each for Private and Public database and selected the tables. I also created 2 different domain context services On on Silverlight page, I need to get information from the tables that are across 2 databases, Private and Public as described above. How do I achieve this? I am thinking of some kind of a wrapper that internally gets data from domain services. Whats the best approach?

  I am a beginner at java, and I am trying to create two strings and compare each character. If there is a matching character or characters, the code has to print out the length of each string, without the matching characters. For example, if one string is "super," and the other is "perfect," the program should interpret the strings as superfect, and print out 9 However, if there is no matching part, like pencil and eraser, the code should printout 12, which is the length of two strings combined. Right now, I am having a problem with comparing each character, since I tried to use if(input_word.compareToIgnoreCase(input_word2) != 0) but it only compared the string as a whole.. any suggestion?   Go doesn't provide assertions. They are undeniably convenient, but our experience has been that programmers use them as a crutch to avoid thinking about proper error handling and reporting. However it has print and println which does panic like print, aborts execution after printing panicln like println, aborts execution after printing Isnt that the same thing as an assert? Why would they claim the above but have panic? i can see it leading to the same problems but adding an error msg to the end of it which can easily be abused. Am i missing something?

  I have two pools of strings and I would like to do a loop over both. For example, if I want to put two labeled apples in one plate I'll write: basket1 = ['apple#1', 'apple#2', 'apple#3', 'apple#4'] for fruit1 in basket1: basket2 = ['apple#1', 'apple#2', 'apple#3', 'apple#4'] for fruit2 in basket2: if fruit1 == fruit2: print 'Oops!' else: print "New Plate = %s and %s" % (fruit1, fruit2) However, I don't want order to matter -- for example I am considering apple#1-apple#2 equivalent to apple#2-apple#1. What's the easiest way to code this? I'm thinking about making a counter in the second loop to track the second basket and not starting from the point-zero in the second loop every time.
