Service Browser for AMF calls (Flex to Java)

Has anyone used or is aware of a service browser to test AMF calls? I am looking for a tool similar to ZamfBrowser ( http://www.zamfbrowser.org ), but one that works for the Java environment. ZamfBrowser is geared towards AMFPHP. The idea here is to provide a service browser, that allows developers to test Java services using the AMF protocol, without having to go through the Flex UI all the time. There has got to be something out there already for this, but I can't seem to locate anything..... It's kind of funny and strange that a service browser exists for AMFPHP but not for regular AMF calls in a Java environment. I would imagine something exists under Blaze or LCDS? ... Trying to find it in the docs but can't seem to find anything .... The best alternative I can think of at the moment is to use FlexMonkey to record stuff, and then to simulate it using that....which is okay I guess but still sucks because you have to go in and create the Flex UI first, whereas with something like ZamfBrowser, you simply point it at the service calls, it tells the server-side developers if their code works, etc. generates the required as3 classes for you... and makes the integration process much easier in a large team. Any help or insight would be appreciated :) Thanks!

html5 cache -> "network: *" doesn't work

Hello all, I am trying a simple test with the html 5 cache. Here is a simple web page : <!DOCTYPE html> <html manifest="test.manifest"> <head> </head> <body> <img src="http://www.somewebsite.com/picture.jpg"/> </body> </html> With the following manifest : CACHE MANIFEST #v0.1 NETWORK: http://www.somewebsite.com/ This work fine, the picture is displayed. My problem is that I won't be able to know from where the picture will come. Here comes the online whitelist wildcard flag, that is supposed to solve my problem. But with the manifest : CACHE MANIFEST #v0.1 NETWORK: * The image is not displayed (tested on safari / safari mobile / firefox). What is not working ? Is there another way to turn the online whitelist wildcard flag on ?

URL "fragment identifier" semantics for HTML documents

I've been working with a new installation of the "MoinMoin" wiki software. As I was playing with it, typing in mostly random test pages, I created a link with a fragment blah blah see also [[SomeStuff#whatever|some other stuff about whatever]] Then I needed to figure out how to create the anchor for that "whatever" fragment identifier. I don't recall having to do that with MediaWiki, so I had to dig around, but finally I found that MoinMoin has an "Anchor" macro: == Whatever == <<Anchor(whatever)>> Looking at the generated HTML, I was surprised to see an empty <span> tag with an "id" value of "whatever". I expected that it'd be an <a> tag with a "name" attribute of "whatever". I dug around and found the source, and there's a comment that says they changed it from an <a> tag in order to avoid some IE problem with <pre> sections. This confused me — not because of the IE thing, but because it looked to me as if their "fix" had left the whole anchor mechanism completely broken. Much to my surprise, however, further testing indicated that it worked fine. I wrote a test page with 300 <span> tags all with "id" values, and I further shocked myself when Firefox behaved exactly as I would have expected it to had I used <a> tags. It also worked when I changed all the <span> tags to <em>. So by this time, you're either as surprised as I was, or else you're thinking "how can somebody that dumb have so many reputation points?" If you're in the second category, is it really the case that I've been typing in HTML for about 15 years now — a lot of HTML — and it's somehow escaped my notice that browsers use the HTML fragment to find any sort of element with a matching "id"? mind status: blown

random data using php & mysql

I have mysql database structure like below: CREATE TABLE test ( id int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment, title text NULL, tags text NULL, PRIMARY KEY (id) ); data on field tags is stored as a comma separated text like html,php,mysql,website,html etc... now I need create an array that contains around 50 randomly selected tags from random records. currently I am using rand() to select 15 random mysql data from database and then holding all the tags from 15 records in an array. Connecting Error to Remote Oracle XE database using ASP.NET

Hello, I have installed Oracle XE on my Development machine and it is working fine. Then I installed Oracle XE client on my Test machine which is also working fine and I can access Development PC database from Browser. Now, I want to create an ASP.Net application which can access that Oracle XE database. I tried it too, but it always shows me an error on my TEST machine to connect database to the Development Machine using ASP.Net. Getting Started with Ruby & Ruby on Rails

Some background: I'm a jack-of-all traits, one of which is programming. I learned VB6 through Excel and PHP for creating websites and so far it's worked out just fine for me. I'm not CS major or even mathematically inclined - logic is what interests me. Current status: I'm willing to learn new and more powerful languages; my first foray into such a route is learning Ruby. I went to the main Ruby website and did the interactive intro. (by the way, I'm currently getting redirected to google.com when I try the link...it's happening to other websites as well...is my computer infected?) I liked what I learned and wanted to get started using Ruby to create websites. I downloaded InstantRails and installed it; everything so far has been fine - the program starts up just fine, and I can test some Ruby code in the console. However my troubles begin when I try and view a web page with Ruby code present. Lastly, my problem: As in PHP, I can browse to the .php file directly and through using PHP tags and some simple 'echo' statements I can be on my way in making dynamic web pages. However with the InstantRails app working, accessing a .rb or .rhtml page doesn't produce similar results. I made a simple text file named 'test.rb' and put basic HTML tags in there (html, head, body) and the Ruby tags <%= and % with some ruby code inside. The web page actually shows the tags and the code - as if it's all just plain HTML. I take it Ruby isn't parsing the page before it is displayed to the user, but this is where my lack of understanding of the Ruby environment stops me short. Where do I go from here?

LINQ to XML contents of child records.

I have this LINQ to XML enquiry... var Records = from Item in XDoc.Root.Elements("Item") where (string)Item.Element("ItemNumber") == item.ID.ToString select Item; ... where ItemNumber is a reference number used in the XML, (originally written by this program but manually edited by "others"), and item.ID is the database version of the same thing. The query executes, and I can test for the number of entries in the result fine... if (Records.Count() < 1) ... you get the idea. I have established that there is only one record. Each Item has several child fields. I want to test the values of the child fields are reasonable before passing them on to the database update sub-system. The XML is produced by the program, but edited by users, so I need to really check what is coming back. So I tried... if (DB_English.ToString() != Records.Elements("English").ToString()) ... DB_English is from the database, but the XML in Records, does not contain the contents of that field, it contains... System.Xml.Linq.Extensions+<GetElements>d__29`1[System.Xml.Linq.XElement] ... so, how do I get the value of this element in the XML file? I need to check the field in the XML has not been altered, (the manual editors of this data file are not potentially 100% reliable).

Calling jquery function from ascx not working

Hi Guys, I'm having a problem with the following situation. I have an ascx which contains a submit button for a search criteria and I am trying to call a validation function in a js file I've used throughout the site (this is the first time I'm using it in an ascx). Axis2 Webservice -> php

Hi! If I have understood Axis2 correct i can construct a WebService and then access it with any SOAP compatible client. I have a java class with a couple of methods that I have written in Eclipse, and then automatically constructed a service with the Axis2 plugin from WTP. This is the methods of my class. public int test(int i){ return i+2; } public Car CarTest(int speed){ return new Car("Biltest", speed); } public CarFactoryAdapter getCarFactory(){ carFact.getCars().add(new Car("Bmw", 250)); carFact.getCars().add(new Car("seat", 350)); carFact.getCars().add(new Car("saab", 150)); carFact.getCars().add(new Car("volv", 50)); return new CarFactoryAdapter(carFact); } The code seems to work when I try it with soapUI and the Axis2-web interface has recognized the methods of my service. But when Iam trying the methods that receives parameters with PHP´s built in soapClient i get a Unknown exception. The getCarFactory methods works at least as expected, but it seems kind of crippled if I can´t send parameters. How do I combine two arrays in PHP based on a common key?

Hi, I'm trying to join two associative arrays together based on an entry_id key. Both arrays come from individual database resources, the first stores entry titles, the second stores entry authors, the key=value pairs are as follows: array ( 'entry_id' => 1, 'title' => 'Test Entry' ) array ( 'entry_id' => 1, 'author_id' => 2 I'm trying to achieve an array structure like: array ( 'entry_id' => 1, 'author_id' => 2, 'title' => 'Test Entry' ) Currently, I've solved the problem by looping through each array and formatting the array the way I want, but I think this is a bit of a memory hog. $entriesArray = array(); foreach ($entryNames as $names) { foreach ($entryAuthors as $authors) { if ($names['entry_id'] === $authors['entry_id']) { $entriesArray[] = array( 'id' => $names['entry_id'], 'title' => $names['title'], 'author_id' => $authors['author_id'] ); } } } I'd like to know is there an easier, less memory intensive method of doing this?

ie7 preserve whitespace on dynamically injected text

If you open the above page in IE7, the text in div test2 doesn't respect white space. How can i get the same behavior for the text that is dynamically injected?? P.S. My doctype is triggering standards mode on IE7.

Hi there, yet another question for recommendations for a book on Silverlight. I look for a book that covers the UI and styling and, if possible, custom drawing and graphics. Very important for me is the style of the book - it should focus on the actual programming and not on where to click in Visual Studio to get things done. Let's take a fictional example for proper usage of the DataGrid control: Bad: To use the data grid, drag it from the toolbox onto the control. You can change the background color by clicking on “Background” in the properties. To define custom columns, click on columns and edit them in the configuration window that opens. Good: To use the DataGrid, you need a reference to the blah dll and declare the namespace in the XAML like this (blah), the data model should be like blah and if you want to define how the columns look like, you need to define them like this (more blah). And if you want to do this in C# because you for whatever reason aren’t able or willing to use XAML, this would look like blah. Bonus points for coverage of topics like how to manage resources (images/fonts) and internationalization. There are quite some snippets on how to do that on the internet but somehow each of them looks like they work but are not a proper way of doing it. cheers Mathias

Can't Compile Correct Mapping File

Hello, Im now developping one application in C# with Remoting objects and NHibernate. So here is a image explaining how my projects are divided. Views Layer This layer will be responsible for the users interface. This layer will always use the Controls Layer to create and edit objects; Control Layer This is my persistence layer, here Ill have all the NHibernate configuration. This is my critic point, because ListSingleton Project will have only my RemoteObject. (Here I have the App.config file) Models Layer Entity layer. Here I only have the entities classes and their respective mapping. I’ve done a test solution with no remoting and only with the projects of the Control and Model Layers. It was all working ok. Now that I added the Views Layer and set the solution to start with projects Client and Server (Client calls the Control Layer and this would do a try to persist a object) I’m getting a error at : Configuration cfg = new Configuration(); cfg.AddXmlFile("mapping/User.hbm.xml"); InnerException: {"Could not compile the mapping document: mapping/User.hbm.xml"} InnerException.InnerException: {"Could not find the dialect in the configuration"} StackTrace in the InnerException.InnerException " em NHibernate.Dialect.Dialect.GetDialect(IDictionary`2 props)\r\n em NHibernate.Cfg.Configuration.AddValidatedDocument(NamedXmlDocument doc)" But I know that there is no error in the mapping file because I used in my test application.

PayPal integration woes: PDT hangs on return to site

Hi, I'm implementing PayPal IPN & PDT. After some headache & time at the sandbox, IPN is working well and PDT returns the correct $_GET data. The implementation is as follows: Pass user ID in form to PayPal User buys product and triggers IPN which updates database for given user ID PDT returns transaction ID when user returns to site The return page says "please wait" and repeat-Ajax-checks for the transaction status User is redirected to success/failure page Everything works well, EXCEPT that when using the PayPal ready PHP code for PDT to do a return POST, the page hangs. PayPal waits for a response and the user never gets back to my site. I'm not getting a fail status, just nothing. The funny thing is that once the unknown error occurs, my test domain becomes unresponsive for a short period. The code (PHP): https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/xcl/rec/pdt-code-outside If I comment out the POST back, it all works fine. I'm able to pin down the problem to once the code enters the while{} loop. Unfortunately, I'm not experienced enough to write a replacement from scratch for the PayPal code, so would really appreciate any ideas on what might be wrong. The POST back goes to ssl://www.sandbox.paypal.com, and I'm using button code and an authorisation token that have all been created via a sandbox test account. Thanks in advance.

curl: downloading from dynamic url

I'm trying to download an html file with curl in bash. Like this site: http://www.registrar.ucla.edu/schedule/detselect.aspx?termsel=10S&subareasel=PHYSICS&idxcrs=0001B+++ When I download it manually, it works fine. However, when i try and run my script through crontab, the output html file is very small and just says "Object moved to here." with a broken link. Does this have something to do with the sparse environment the crontab commands run it? I found this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1279340/php-ssl-curl-object-moved-error but i'm using bash, not php. What are the equivalent command line options or variables to set to fix this problem in bash? (I want to do this with curl, not wget) Edit: well, sometimes downloading the file manually (via interactive shell) works, but sometimes it doesn't (I still get the "Object moved here" message). CSS styles are not applied to elements added to JavaFX component tree

I have applied CSS style to JavaFX components and it looks like everything is working fine except one situation: when I add JavaFX components to component tree on-the-fly their CSS styles are not applied. I noticed that: Components added dynamically look just like style information was not applied. If you set their style in JavaFX code then everything works fine. After changing stylesheets property (so that it points to another valid stylesheet) the objects already added render properly. Does anyone know the solution to this problem? I could of course put all the properties into JavaFX code or provide another stylesheet (for every existing stylesheed) that would contain the same data and change stylesheet right after adding any component, but I would like to find some elegant solution. Creating a QMainWindow from Java using JNI

I did some tests executing the code of my "show" method from a QMetaObject::invokeMethod stuff using Qt::QueuedConnection but nothing works properly. Is the RESTORE process dependent on schema?

Let's say I have two database instances: InstanceA - Production server InstanceB - Test server My workflow is to deploy new schema changes to InstanceB first, test them, and then deploy them to InstanceA. So, at any one time, the instance schema relationship looks like this: InstanceA - Schema Version 1.5 InstanceB - Schema Version 1.6 (new version being tested) An additional part of my workflow is to keep the data in InstanceB as fresh as possible. To fulfill this, I am taking the database backups of InstanceA and applying them (restoring them) to InstanceB. My question is, how does schema version affect the restoral process? I know I can do this: Backup InstanceA - Schema Version 1.5 Restore to InstanceB - Schema Version 1.5 But can I do this? Backup InstanceA - Schema Version 1.5 Restore to InstanceB - Schema Version 1.6 (new version being tested) If no, what would the failure look like? If yes, would the type of schema change matter? For example, if Schema Version 1.6 differed from Schema Version 1.5 by just having an altered storec proc, I imagine that this type of schema change should't affect the restoral process. On the other hand, if Schema Version 1.6 differed from Schema Version 1.5 by having a different table definition (say, an additional column), I image this would affect the restoral process. I hope I've made this clear enough. Thanks in advance for any input!

Simplest way to debug an android bluetooth application

I am trying to test and build a sample android application that can simply connect to a BT server to send and receive a few packets. Since the emulator has no support what is the next best thing to test BT communication? Can I just run a code that acts as a server on my laptop and dumps BT connection onto a console? Do I have to write this code, or is their a simple tool that saves me that hassle? One more thing, I have windows 7, and currently I attach to my PC an anycom USB BT adapter. This is able to show up my nexus one as a BT device. I can pair to my laptop but connection always fails. When it tries to pair I have tried both 0000 and 1234 as suggested on my nexus, but in my connection list it still lists my laptop as paired but not connected. Any idea why? I searched for this problem and apparently people talk about rebooting and power cycling BT, but these solutions dont work for me. Thanks. Affan.
