  • CSS file not served by IIS 7.5 after multiple clear cache refreshes in a row in browser

    We are experiencing an interesting issue with IIS 7.5 static caching and a css file. When we use IE to hit the page in question everything works fine - 200 OK on css file. When we refresh the page it works fine - 304 Not Modified on css file. When I refresh again with control key it reloads fine - 200 OK on css file. Now if I do a control key + refresh multiple times in a row really fast the css fails to load and in the developer tools network it says "Loading..." for the css file and it hangs never coming back. Any ideas?

  • For a particular domain, how can I cache its JSON responses locally?

    I'm coding the frontend of a web app that uses XHR to grab JSON data from a 3rd party. The 3rd party service is slow and because of its API design, we need to make a LOT of API requests every time I refresh the page to test some new code. It's making the development loop painful. The requests are GETs, POSTs and PUTs even though I'm pretty sure none of the requests are changing state. I want to go to localhost for the JSON rather than to this 3rd party API - simply to make my development process faster.

    I'm PXE-booting a Ubuntu 10.10 system, where I specify the kernel parameters as follows: append root=/dev/nfs initrd=ubuntu-boot/initrd.img-2.6.35-24-generic nfsroot=11.22.33.44:/data/nfsroot,fsc ip=dhcp rw I need to use the mount option 'fsc' in order to use FS-cache functionality (the cachefilesd package.) However, when I try this I get the following error upon boot: nfsmount: bad option 'fsc' Why doesn't nfsmount permit this option? (It works fine when you mount manually with "mount -o fsc" after booting up.)

    In my grails application, some of my domain classes will never be changed by Users. However, some maintenance work is sometimes necessary, and administrator should be able to create/edit few instances from time to time (let's say twice a year). I would like to set a read-only 2nd level cache strategy for these domain classes (static mapping = { cache usage: 'read-only' } ) AND I would like to be able to 'disable' (in very particular situations) the read-only strategy in order to udate some instances via Grails scaffolding edit view. Is it possible? What do you advise me to do? EDIT: The solution I am implementing is a mix of Pascal and Burt answers (see comments). Both answers are great and helpful. So I got a dilemna for choosing the accepted answer! Anyway, thank you.

    I am executing the following routine often in order to clear the local cache of many Outlook clients (Outlook 2003) in order to fix corrupted Forms stored on the users local drive. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Other tab. Click Advanced Options. In the Advanced Options box, click Custom Forms. In the Custom Forms box, click Manage Forms. In the Forms Manager box, click Clear Cache. Is there a way I can program this to occur on the local client? I am looking for a solution that could be included in Outlooks VBScript in order to include it in yet another 'Organizational Forms Library' Forms client side validation code.     My upgrade using alternative iso from 11.10 to 12.04 got interrupted and I had to hard restart my machine. Now I feel that everything is recovered except my already installed packages like vim. How do I backup my home folder for fresh installation of ubuntu?   • Edubuntu video playback and apt-get

    They had installed some modified edubuntu's at school... So i have some questions about setting some things up: How we can play HD videos ? They are made for windows machines and are in .wmv format but we need to play them on our multimedia class but don't know how - which player, which codecs etc. How to edit properly the /etc/apt/sources file ? Anything we try to install via apt-get it just says that E:\ is not available. Please tell me which repositories to put in there so we could be able to install some tools. Where are usually viruses/trojans put in ubuntu ? I mean in which directories ? Because our computers are behaving really slow and we need to check for some malware manually - we are not even allowed to install any kind of AV software. So tell me the usual directories and places for hiding such files, how are they hiddem, how to recognize them etc. Any others nice tricks/tips that we need to know. Thank you very much in advance.

  • Can't install libopenssl-ruby

    I'm trying to install ruby on rails and I can't seem to install libopenssl-ruby. I'm on a VPS and I've installed Jaunty as the newer releases don't seem to work very nicely. When I do: apt-get install libopenssl-ruby I get: E: Package libopenssl-ruby has no installation candidate Originally it simply said that it couldn't find the package but after wget'ing a deb form here: http://linuxappfinder.com/package/libopenssl-ruby and trying to install using dpkg I get this new error. Dpkg itself said that it couldn't install my deb as it depended on 'libopenssl-ruby'.     It is my pleasure to announce the publishing of another article in our "SOA Suite Essentials for WLI Users" series: "Dynamic Data Lookup in a Business Process: Meta Data Cache Control in Oracle WebLogic Integration and Domain Value Maps in SOA Suite". This article explains how dynamic data can be retrieved in a business process using Domain Value Maps in SOA Suite and shows the similarities to the WLI XML MetaData Cache Control. Lots of customers have asked about this comparison and I hope they will find it useful. The article follows "Setting Web Service and JCA Adapter Endpoints Dynamically in Oracle SOA Suite" which describes how web services and JCA adapter endpoints in SOA Suite can be changed at run-time, and so completes the use case where a BPEL process writes to a file (via file adapter) and the output directory and the file name are set dynamically.   • Cache Refresh in Chrome

    I dunno what exactly it's called, by cache refresh I mean, refresh the page after clearing its cache. I don't want to clear the entire browser cache. I prefer Chrome's Dev panel against firebug... don't ask me why. But I can't seem to cache refresh my pages. In FF, I know it to be Shift+Refresh. In chrome, I've tried Ctrl+R, Ctrl+Refresh, Alt+Refresh, Shift+Refresh but none of them work. EDIT: I got a Notable Question Badge for the lamest question I've ever asked. FML.
