Ive a,ready created another webview view that sits in the supporting files folderHere is my code below Viewcontroller.m #import "ViewController.h" @implementation ViewController - (void)didReceiveMemoryWarning { [super didReceiveMemoryWarning]; // Release any cached data, images, etc that aren't in use. } #pragma mark - View lifecycle - (void)viewDidLoad { NSString *urlString = @"http://www.athletic-profile.com/Application"; //Create a URL object. NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:urlString]; //URL Requst Object NSURLRequest *webRequest = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:url]; //Load the request in the UIWebView. [webView loadRequest:webRequest]; [super viewDidLoad]; // Do any additional setup after loading the view, typically from a nib. } - (void)viewDidUnload { [super viewDidUnload]; // Release any retained subviews of the main view. // e.g. self.myOutlet = nil; } - (void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewWillAppear:animated]; } - (void)viewDidAppear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewDidAppear:animated]; } - (void)viewWillDisappear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewWillDisappear:animated]; } - (void)viewDidDisappear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewDidDisappear:animated]; } - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { // Return YES for supported orientations return (interfaceOrientation != UIInterfaceOrientationPortraitUpsideDown); } @synthesize webView; @end

  • I'm writing a diagnostic app for iOS that loads a predetermined set of webpages and records the time it takes for the page to render on the device.

    - by user1754840
    I'm writing a sort of diagnostic app for iOS that opens a predetermined list of websites and records the elapsed time it takes each to load. I have the app open a UIWebView within a ViewController. Here are the important bits of the ViewController source: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; DataClass *obj = [DataClass getInstance]; obj.startOfTest = [NSDate date]; //load the first webpage NSString *urlString = [websites objectAtIndex:obj.counter]; //assume firstWebsite is already instantiated and counter is initially set to zero obj.counter = obj.counter + 1; NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:urlString]; NSURLRequest *request = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:url]; [obj.websiteStartTimes addObject:[NSDate date]]; [webView loadRequest:request]; } - (void)webViewDidFinishLoading:(UIWebView *)localWebView{ DataClass *obj = [DataClass getInstance]; //gets 'global' variables if(!webView.loading){ NSString *urlString = [websites objectAt:obj.counter]; obj.counter = obj.counter + 1; NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:urlString]; NSURLRequest *request = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:url]; [obj.websiteStartTimes addObject:[NSDate date]]; [webView loadRequest:request]; } The problem with this code is that it seems to load the next website before the one before it has finished. I would have thought that both the call to webViewDidFinishLoading AND the if statement within that would ensure that the website would be done, but that's not the case. I've noticed that sometimes, a single website will invoke the didFinishLoading method more than once, but it would only enter the if statement once. For example, if I have a list of ten websites, the webView would only really show the 3rd and the 6th website on the list and then indicate that it was "done" rendering them all. What else can I do to ensure that a website is done loading completely and rendered to the screen before the app moves on to the next one?

  • Popping UIView crashes app

    - by Adun
    I'm basically pushing a UIView from a UITableViewController and all it contains is a UIWebView. However when I remove the UIView to return back to the UITableView the app crashes. - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { // Navigation logic may go here. Create and push another view controller. if (indexPath.row == websiteCell) { NSString *urlPath = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"http://%@", exhibitor.website]; WebViewController *webViewController = [[WebViewController alloc] initWithURLString:urlPath]; // Pass the selected object to the new view controller. [self.parentViewController presentModalViewController:webViewController animated:YES]; [webViewController release]; } } If I comment out the [webViewController release] the app doesn't crash, but I know that this would be a leak. Below is the code for the Web Browser: #import "WebViewController.h" @implementation WebViewController @synthesize webBrowserView; @synthesize urlValue; @synthesize toolBar; @synthesize spinner; @synthesize loadUrl; -(id)initWithURLString:(NSString *)urlString { if (self = [super init]) { urlValue = urlString; } return self; } #pragma mark WebView Controls - (void)goBack { [webBrowserView goBack]; } - (void)goForward { [webBrowserView goForward]; } - (void)reload { [webBrowserView reload]; } - (void)closeBrowser { [self.parentViewController dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES]; } #pragma end // Implement viewDidLoad to do additional setup after loading the view, typically from a nib. - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; CGRect contentRect = self.view.bounds; //NSLog(@"%f", contentRect.size.height); float webViewHeight = contentRect.size.height - 44.0f; // navBar = 44 float toolBarHeight = contentRect.size.height - webViewHeight; • UIWebView EXC_BAD_ACCESS crash

    - by HARDWARRIOR
    I'm experiencing crashes of an app that uses UIWebView. Usually it's when page is not fully loaded and UIWebView is sent stopLoading selector. Or when UIWebView fully loaded page. I've got EXC_BAD_ACCESS. Stack looks like this: #0 0x95bb7688 in objc_msgSend #1 0x30a671db in -[UIWebView webView:decidePolicyForNavigationAction:request:frame:decisionListener:] #2 0x3024a10d in __invoking___ #3 0x30249ff8 in -[NSInvocation invoke] #4 0x358ab160 in HandleDelegateSource #5 0x302452c1 in CFRunLoopRunSpecific #6 0x30244628 in CFRunLoopRunInMode #7 0x32044c31 in GSEventRunModal #8 0x32044cf6 in GSEventRun #9 0x309021ee in UIApplicationMain #10 0x0000239c in main at main.m:13 for me most strange thing here is webView:decidePolicyForNavigationAction:request:frame:decisionListener: selector sent to UIWebView, because there is no such selector in UIWebView documentation! Only for Cocoa (not cocoa touch) WebView. I suspect that there is something wrong with UIWebView or its delegate. But I can't set breakpoint to watch them. Please advise how I can get more info in this situation.

  • UIToolbar above UIWebView inside UIScrollView

    - by Nick VanderPyle
    I'd like to display a toolbar above a UIWebView but hide the toolbar until the person "pulls it down". The same functionality can be seen in Safari on the iPhone. When the page loads, the toolbar containing the address is hidden. You must pull it down. In Safari it's possible to scroll up and eventually see the toolbar or scroll down through the page contents. I've tried placing a UIToolbar and UIWebView inside a UIScrollView but it didn't work. I've tried setting the UIScrollView to the size of the toolbar and webview combined, but that didn't work. - (void)viewDidLoad{ CGSize size = CGSizeMake(webView.frame.size.width, toolBar.frame.size.height + webView.frame.size.height); [scrollView setContentSize:size]; } How should I go about doing this?

  • Opening popup links in UIWebView, possible?

    - by Jasarien
    Hey guys, I have a UIWebView which I'm using as an embedded browser within my app. I've noticed that links in webpages that open new windows are ignored without any call into my code. I've tried breakpointing on - (BOOL)webView:(UIWebView *)webView shouldStartLoadWithRequest:(NSURLRequest *)request navigationType:(UIWebViewNavigationType)navigationType and then selecting a link that would open a popup window, and the breakpoint is never hit. Is there anything I can do to intercept that selection of the popup link and get the URL and just load it normally? I'm not interested in displaying a popup window in the app itself, I just want the URL of whatever is going to be loaded in the popup window to load in the main webview itself. Is this possible? Thanks!

  • Map Custom URL protocol to HTTP (using NSURLProtocol?)

    - by Francisco Ryan Tolmasky I
    I have an application using a WebKit WebView and I'd like to map URL's that are loaded in this WebView with a custom URL protocol to a different HTTP URL. For example, say I am loading: custom://path/to/resource I would like to internally actually load: http://something-else.com/path/to/resource In other words, the custom protocol serves almost as a shorthand. I can't however use -webView:resource:willSendRequest:redirectResponse:fromDataSource:, because I want WebKit to actually believe this is the URL in question, not to simply redirect from one to the other. So far I've been attempting to use a custom NSURLProtocol subclass. However, this is proving trickier than I first thought because, at least to my understanding, I will have to do the actual loading myself in the NSURLProtocol subclass' startLoading method. I'd like a way to just hand off the work to the existing HTTP protocol loader, but I can't find an easy way to do this. Does anyone have a recommendation for this, or perhaps an alternative way to solve this issue? Thanks!

  • How to check whether Application is Busy or not

    - by Chandan Shetty SP
    Hi, I am using "networkActivityIndicatorVisible" in UIApplication for showing network spinning gear in status bar if my WebView( I am setting "networkActivityIndicatorVisible = YES" in "webViewDidStartLoad" and reseting in "webViewDidFinishLoad" ) is busy. It works fine for single UIWebView. For Multiple UIWebViews i have used a "stack" to trace which webview is busy and which one is idle and it is working fine. My question is there is any way to know whether an application is busy or idle in application level(in UIApplication) instead of checking each webview so i can remove stack. Thanks.

  • UIWebview contents as NSString from HTML

    - by Yoon Lee
    I'm trying to reading part of HTML source code from website that has been encapsulated by javascript;basically i'm trying to read email which appears in webview but not in real source code using NSString method of 'NSString stringWithContentsOfURL:(NSURL *)url'. it looks like code showing up before hitting up the inner java script (which executes and shows the email address to show). are there any way i can get into NSString the contents that I viewed over UIWebview? I tried to use the method 'webView stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString' it worked for only displaying through webview browser didn't return any string value. Are there anyway I can get the string?

  • UIWebView not evaluating javascript properly

    - by jammur
    I'm trying to run some javascript against a UIWebView but it's doesn't seem to be working. For example, here is a snippet of html I'm using to test: <html><body><h1>Hello World!</h1><p>It's me.</p></body></html> If I run the following javascript against it, the return value is 0, when it should be 1. var elements = document.getElementsByTagName("h1"); elements.length; Here's the objc code I'm using for the webview. 'parser' is a string containing the above javascript: [webView loadHTMLString:@"<html><body><h1>Hello World!</h1><p>It's me.</p></body></html>" baseURL:nil]; NSString *markupResult = [webView stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString:parser];

  • UIWebView Loading content properly on iOS 6 simulator but not on device?

    - by David Hegner
    I have encountered a weird bug with a released app. My UIWebView is no longer loading content on iOS 6, yet the content still displays in the simulator. The activity indicator displays properly but then it loads a blank url? Again, this only happens on a device, not on the simulator. To provide extra context (in the simulator the NSURLRequest is assigned the proper URL. When run on a device the value is nil.) Here is my code : -(void)loading { if(!self.webView.loading) [self.activityIndicator stopAnimating]; else { [self.activityIndicator startAnimating]; } } - (void)viewDidLoad { [self.webView addSubview:self.activityIndicator]; NSURLRequest *requestUrl = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:self.url]; [self.webView loadRequest:requestUrl]; self.timer = [NSTimer scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval:(1.0/2.0) target:self selector:@selector(loading) userInfo:nil repeats:YES]; [super viewDidLoad]; NSLog(@"%@", requestUrl); }

  • Redrawing content of UIWebView

    - by btate
    I have a bunch of webviews with static html content that I'm putting in a scroll view as pages. That works fine, but having 20 something full screen subviews of the scroll view is causing some lag. I solved that by only placing 5 at a time in there. The current view, and the two next and two previous. The problem now is that any web view that is not a subview of the scroll view is not drawing correctly based on the device orientation. The frame of the webview is printing out correct, but the actual content is drawing in portrait mode. So there is essentially a strip of blank space to the right of the content. How do I go about re rendering the content without reloading the page? Here's the relevant code: - (void)didRotateFromInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation) fromInterfaceOrientation{ [self resizeSubViews]; } - (void) setupWebViews{ if(_webViews == nil) _webViews = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; // This is where the navigation would come into play as far as loading up available web views [_webViews removeAllObjects]; // for loop here to create web views for (int i = 0; i < 20; i++) { //CDCWebViewController *webView = [[[MyInternalWebView alloc] initWithFrame:_webViewWrapper.frame] retain]; MyInternalWebView *page = [[[MyInternalWebView alloc] init] retain]; [page loadRequest:[NSURLRequest requestWithURL:_url]]; [page setCdcIWVdelegate:self]; [page setTestIndex:i]; [page setPageIndex:i]; [_webViews addObject:page]; [self loadScrollViewWithPage:i]; } [self clearUnusedWebViews:_pageControl.currentPage]; } - (void) setupWebViewWrapper{ // a page is the width of the scroll view _webViewWrapper.pagingEnabled = YES; _pageControl = [[[UIPageControl alloc] init] retain]; _webViewWrapper.showsHorizontalScrollIndicator = NO; _webViewWrapper.showsVerticalScrollIndicator = NO; _webViewWrapper.scrollsToTop = NO; _webViewWrapper.delegate = self; _pageControl.numberOfPages = [_webViews count]; _pageControl.currentPage = 0; } - (void) resizeSubViews{ // The frame is set in IB _webViewWrapper.contentSize = CGSizeMake(_webViewWrapper.frame.size.width * [_webViews count], _webViewWrapper.frame.size.height); // Move the content offset. _webViewWrapper.contentOffset = CGPointMake(_webViewWrapper.frame.size.width * _pageControl.currentPage, _webViewWrapper.contentOffset.y); for (MyInternalWebView *subview in _webViewWrapper.subviews) { // Reset the frame height and width here? • How to change theme for AlertDialog.

    - by Min Soo Kim
    Hello everyone, I was wondering if someone could help me out. I am trying to create a custom AlertDialog. In order to do this, I added the following line of code in styles.xml @drawable/color_panel_background color_panel_background.9.png is located in drawable folder. This is also available in Android SDK res folder. The following is the main activity. package com.customdialog; import android.app.Activity; import android.app.AlertDialog; import android.app.Dialog; import android.content.DialogInterface; import android.os.Bundle; public class CustomDialog extends Activity { /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); this.setTheme(R.style.CustomAlertDialog); AlertDialog.Builder builder = new AlertDialog.Builder(this); builder.setMessage("HELLO!"); builder .setCancelable(false) .setPositiveButton("Yes", new DialogInterface.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(DialogInterface dialog, int id) { //MyActivity.this.finish(); } }) .setNegativeButton("No", new DialogInterface.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(DialogInterface dialog, int id) { //dialog.cancel(); } }); AlertDialog alertdialog = builder.create(); alertdialog.show(); } } In order to apply the theme to an AlertDialog, I had to set the theme to the current context. However, I just can't seem to get the app to show customized AlertDialog. Can anyone help me out with this, and thank you very much in advance!

  • C# Java Objective-C need expert advices

    - by Kevino
    Which platform as the edge today in 2012 with the rise of cloud computing, mobile development and the revolution of HTML5/Javascript between J2EE, .Net framework and IOS Objective-C ??? I want to start learning 1 language between Java, C# and Objective-C and get back into programming after 14 years and I don't know which to choose I need expert advices... I already know a little C++ and I remember my concepts in example pointers arithmetic, class etc so I tend to prefer learning C# and Objective-C but I've been told by some experienced programmers that Windows 8 could flop and .Net could be going away slowly since C++ and Html5/Javascript could be king in mobile is that true ? and that C# is more advanced compared to Java with Linq/Lambda... but not truly as portable if we consider android, etc but Java as a lot going for him too Scala, Clojure, Groovy, JRuby, JPython etc etc so I am lost Please help me, and don't close this right away I really need help and expert advices thanks you very much ANSWER : ElYusubov : thanks for everything please continue with the answers/explanations I just did some native C++ in dos mode in 1998 before Cli and .Net I don't know the STL,Templates, Win32 or COM but I remember a little the concept of memory management and oop etc I already played around a little with C# 1.0 in 2002 but things changed a lot with linq and lambda... I am here because I talked with some experienced programmers and authors of some the best selling programming books like apress wrox and deitel and they told me a few things are likely to happen like .Net could be on his way out because of Html5/Javascript combo could kill xaml and C++ native apps on mobile dev will outperform them by a lot... Secondly ios and android are getting so popular that mobile dev is the future so Objective-C is very hard to ignore so why get tied down in Windows long term (.Net) compared to Java (android)... but again android is very fragmented, they also said Windows 8 RT will give you access to only a small part of the .Net framework... so that's what they think so I don't know which direction to choose I wanted to learn C# & .Net but what if it die off or Windows 8 flop Windows Phone marketshare really can't compare to ios... so I'll be stuck that's why I worry is Java safer long term or more versatile if you want 'cause of the support for android ??

  • Invoking JavaScript from Java

    - by Geertjan
    Here's an Action class defined in Java. The Action class executes a script via the JavaFX WebEngine: @NbBundle.Messages("CTL_AddBananasAction=Add Banana") private class AddBananasAction extends AbstractAction { public AddBananasAction() { super(Bundle.CTL_AddBananasAction()); } @Override public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { Platform.runLater(new Runnable() { @Override public void run() { webengine.executeScript("addBanana(' " + newBanana + " ') "); } }); } }How does the 'executescript' call know where to find the JavaScript file? Well, earlier in the code, the WebEngine loaded an HTML file, where the JavaScript file was registered: WebView view = new WebView(); view.setMinSize(widthDouble, heightDouble); view.setPrefSize(widthDouble, heightDouble); webengine = view.getEngine(); URL url = getClass().getResource("home.html"); webengine.load(url.toExternalForm()); Finally, here's a skeleton 'addBanana' method, which is invoked via the Action class shown above: function addBanana(user){ statustext.text(user); } By the way, if you have your JavaScript and CSS embedded within your HTML file, the code navigator combines all three into the same window, which is kind of cool:

  • How's ActionScript 3.0 supported on symbian,android,iphone and windowCE?

    - by user198729
    Anyone knows? To deal with all the things you can do with FMS3, you have two additional language Application Program Interfaces (APIs). Both APIs are extensions of ActionScript and are called Client-Side Media ActionScript and Server-Side Media ActionScript, or in this book, simply as CS ActionScript and SS ActionScript. With ActionScript 3.0, which is also used in this book, the client-side ActionScript has been fully integrated into the language.

  • Android: How to handle runtime exception on playing audio files?

    - by Maxood
    I have a button that plays an audio file on its click listener. If the button is clicked again and again while the audio file is being played then the app crashes. What's the solution? Here is some code for reference: private OnClickListener btnMercyListener = new OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { // Toast.makeText(getBaseContext(), // "Mercy audio file is being played", // Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show(); if (status==true) { mp.stop(); mp.release(); status = false; } else { mp = MediaPlayer.create(iMEvil.this,R.raw.mercy); //mp.start(); try{ mp.start(); status= true; //mp.release(); }catch(NullPointerException e) { Log.v("MP error",e.toString()); } } mp.setOnCompletionListener(new OnCompletionListener(){ // @Override public void onCompletion(MediaPlayer arg0) { mp.release(); status = false; } } ); } };

  • how subsonic SP should return a value

    - by android.sm
    Hi all, I'm very much new to SubSonic and need a little guidance. Here, I want to know how my SP should return a value. Currently, when I execute it I simply pass an Int and it returns me a string value. Here is code: SubSonic SP: public static StoredProcedure GetQuote(int? CategoryId) { StoredProcedure sp = new StoredProcedure("GetQuote", DataService.GetInstance("Quotes Provider"), "dbo"); sp.Command.AddParameter("@CategoryId", CategoryId, DbType.Int32, 0, 10); return sp; } My Code: public bool GetQuote(int category, out string quote) { bool val = false; quote = ""; try { StoredProcedure sp = SPs.GetQuote(category); if (sp != null) { sp.Execute(); val = true; } } catch (Exception err) { throw err; } return val; } Thanks all

  • cc1plus: error: include: Value too large for defined data type when compiling with g++

    - by Android
    I am making a project that should compile on Windows and Linux. I have made the project in Visual Studio and then made a makefile for linux. I created all the files in Windows with VS. It compiles and runs perfectly in VS but when I run the makefile and it runs g++ I get $ g++ -c -I include -o obj/Linux_x86/Server.obj src/Server.cpp cc1plus: error: include: Value too large for defined data type cc1plus: error: src/Server.cpp: Value too large for defined data type The code is nothing more than a Hello World atm. I just wanted to make sure that everything was working before I started development. I have tried searching but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Java equivalent of the VB Request.InputStream

    - by Android Addict
    I have a web service that I am re-writing from VB to a Java servlet. In the web service, I want to extract the body entity set on the client-side as such: StringEntity stringEntity = new StringEntity(xml, HTTP.UTF_8); stringEntity.setContentType("application/xml"); httppost.setEntity(stringEntity); In the VB web service, I get this data by using: Dim objReader As System.IO.StreamReader objReader = New System.IO.StreamReader(Request.InputStream) Dim strXML As String = objReader.ReadToEnd and this works great. But I am looking for the equivalent in Java. I have tried this: ServletInputStream dataStream = req.getInputStream(); byte[] data = new byte[dataStream.toString().length()]; dataStream.read(data); but all it gets me is an unintelligible string: data = [B@68514fec Please advise. Edit Per the answers, I have tried: ServletInputStream dataStream = req.getInputStream(); ByteArrayOutputStream buffer = new ByteArrayOutputStream(); int r; byte[] data = new byte[1024*1024]; while ((r = dataStream.read(data, 0, data.length)) != -1) { buffer.write(data, 0, r); } buffer.flush(); byte[] data2 = buffer.toByteArray(); System.out.println("DATA = "+Arrays.toString(data2)); whichs yields: DATA = [] and when I try: System.out.println("DATA = "+data2.toString()); I get: DATA = [B@15282c7f So what am I doing wrong? As stated earlier, the same call to my VB service gives me the xml that I pass in.

  • Linear Recurrence for very large n

    - by Android Decoded
    I was trying to solve this problem on SPOJ (http://www.spoj.pl/problems/REC/) F(n) = a*F(n-1) + b where we have to find F(n) Mod (m) where 0 <= a, b, n <= 10^100 1 <= M <= 100000 I am trying to solve it with BigInteger in JAVA but if I run a loop from 0 to n its getting TLE. How could I solve this problem? Can anyone give some hint? Don't post the solution. I want hint on how to solve it efficiently.
