  • How to jar java source files from different (sub-)directories?

    Consider the following directory structure: ./source/com/mypackage/../A.java ./extensions/extension1/source/com/mypackage/../T.java ./extensions/extension2/source/com/mypackage/../U.java ... ./extensions/extensionN/source/com/mypackage/../Z.java I want to produce a source jar with the following contents: com/mypackage/../A.java com/mypackage/../T.java com/mypackage/../U.java ... com/mypackage/../Z.java I know I could use a fileset for each source directory. But is there an easy solution using ANT without having to refer to all extensions explicitly?

  • How can I merge CSS definitions in files into inline style attributes, using Perl?

    Many email clients don't like linked CSS stylesheets, or even the embedded <style> tag, but rather want the CSS to appear inline as style attributes on all your markup. BAD: <link rel=stylesheet type="text/css" href="/style.css"> BAD: <style type="text/css">...</style> WORKS: <h1 style="margin: 0">...</h1> However this inline style attribute approach is a right pain to manage. I've found tools for Ruby and PHP that will take a CSS file and some separate markup as input and return you the merged result - a single file of markup with all the CSS converted to style attributes. I'm looking for a Perl solution to this problem, but I've not found one on CPAN or by searching Google. Any pointers?   • Breaking dependencies when you can't make changes to other files?

    I'm doing some stealth agile development on a project. The lead programmer sees unit testing, refactoring, etc as a waste of resources and there is no way to convince him otherwise. His philosophy is "If it ain't broke don't fix it" and I understand his point of view. He's been working on the project for over a decade and knows the code inside and out. I'm not looking to debate development practices. I'm new to the project and I've been tasked with adding a new feature. I've worked on legacy projects before and used agile development practices with good result but those teams were more receptive to the idea and weren't afraid of making changes to code. I've been told I can use whatever development methodology I want but I have to limit my changes to only those necessary to add the feature. I'm using tdd for the new classes I'm writing but I keep running into road blocks caused by the liberal use of global variables and the high coupling in the classes I need to interact with. Normally I'd start extracting interfaces for these classes and make their dependence on the global variables explicit by injecting them as constructor arguments or public properties. I could argue that the changes are necessary but considering the lead never had to make them I doubt he would see it my way. What techniques can I use to break these dependencies without ruffling the lead developer's feathers? I've made some headway using: Extract Interface (for the new classes I'm creating) Extend and override the wayward classes with test stubs. (luckily most methods are public virtual) But these two can only get me so far.

  • How do I view Visual Studio BuildLog.htm files without cutting and pasting into an external browser

    This may or may not be specific to VS2005 (as that is the version I'm referring to for this question). I find often the case is that I see this in the Output panel inside Visual Studio 2>Build log was saved at "file://c:\\vsdll_example\MyExecRefsDll\Debug\BuildLog.htm" Now, since that looks and smells like a URL, I would have thought that I could simply left mouse click on it, or left mouse double-click on it, and a browser window of some sort would be displayed. No, that doesn't work. So, to view it, I have to cut and paste the "file://bla/bla/bla" part into an external window. Is there a way to set up Visual Studio to allow me to browse to that file directly, or view it inside Visual Studio IDE, or something to that effect, without the extra fiddling with cutting and pasting? Or is there some type of keybinding I'm not aware of? Thanks, bg

  • FlexBuilder 3 Linked folders not picking up as files.

    I am using Flex Builder 3 to write a flex component. I have created a real folder path \common. Under common I create a Linked Folder to Session. Session points to a shared source folder with a item with a namespace of common\Session\ClassName. When I go to compile the project FlexBuilder warns that it was unable to find the type. if I stop using Linked folders and create a physical \common\Session\ in my project and place SessionInfo.as in the folder then it works. just in case my textual explanation is a bit obscure here is the layout. \src\common\Session\SessionInfo.as namespace of SessionInfo is common.Session. If you need any further info just let me know.

  • How do I secure a folder used to let users upload files?

    I have a folder in my web server used for the users to upload photos using an ASP page. Is it safe enough to give IUSR write permissions to the folder? Must I secure something else? I am afraid of hackers bypassing the ASP page and uploading content directly to the folder. I'm using ASP classic and IIS6 on Windows 2003 Server. The upload is through HTTP, not FTP.     I have a CSV file that contains extra newlines in some fields, e.g.: A, B, C, D, E, F 123, 456, tree , very, bla, indigo I tried the following: import csv catalog = csv.reader(open('test.csv', 'rU'), delimiter=",", dialect=csv.excel_tab) for row in catalog: print "Length: ", len(row), row and the result I got was this: Length: 6 ['A', ' B', ' C', ' D', ' E', ' F'] Length: 3 ['123', ' 456', ' tree'] Length: 4 [' ', ' very', ' bla', ' indigo'] Does anyone have any idea how I can quickly remove extraneous newlines?   • Subversion freaking out on me!

    I have two copies of a site, one is the production copy, and the other is the development copy. I recently added everything in the production to a subversion repository hosted on our linux backup server. I created a tag of the current version and I was done. I then copied the development copy overtop of the production copy (on my local machine where I have everything checked out). There are only 10-20 files changed, however, when I use tortoise SVN to do a commit, it says every file has changed. The diff file generated shows subversion removing everything, and replacing it with the new version (which is the exact same). What is going on? How do I fix it?
