  • FCKEditor doesn't set Value property on postback!

    I'm using FCKEditor on my asp.net web page. It appears beautifully, and the editor looks really good on the front end. Only problem is, the .Value property is not being set on the postback. No matter what changes the user makes to the value of the control on the page, when I click "Submit", the .Value property remains blank. I have Googled for other solutions, and most of them are of the variety where there's some conflict with Ajax, such as this and this. My problem is not solved by these solutions; it's much more fundamental than that. I'm not doing anything to do with Ajax; I'm just a simple asp.net newbie with a simple web form, and the value property is not being set on postback, not in IE and not in FF. It appears that at least one other person has had this problem, but no solution yet. Any ideas? Thanks! New information: I tried this out on a "hello world" test web site - and the test web site works 100%. There is obviously a problem on my page, but I have no idea where to begin tracking this down.   • Why are all objects in this extension of usercontrol null at runtime?

Why am I losing the fucntionality of the original base class at this level? Is it incorrect to add the element (button1) to the maskcontainer inside of the main.xaml? My end goal is to create a container that is reusable, but inherits all properties/methods that I've specified throughout the chain. Any help is appreciated.

    I'm having some trouble running a groovy servlet (groovlet) in tomcat that imports a library class. When I don't import anything the groovlet works correctly, but if I do import something that I expect to be on the classpath (I can import the same class successfully in a regular servlet), I see the following error: groovy.util.ScriptException: Could not parse scriptName: /MyGroovlet.groovy java.lang.RuntimeException: groovy.util.ScriptException: Could not parse scriptName: /MyGroovlet.groovy at groovy.servlet.GroovyServlet$1.call(GroovyServlet.java:123) ... Caused by: org.codehaus.groovy.control.MultipleCompilationErrorsException: startup failed, /MyGroovlet.groovy: 1: unable to resolve class com.mycompany.mypackage.MyLibraryClass @ line 1, column 1. The jar containing MyLibraryClass is in shared/lib, which is loaded by tomcat by the following in catalina.properties: shared.loader=...,${catalina.base}/shared/lib/*.jar,...   • convert string to date and write back into NSMutableArray

    I have a NSMutableArray I get by loading a plist into it. The date field comes in as a string and i want to change it into a nsdate. I can change an nsstring into an nsdate. My array is an array of objects like the one below; { Date = "1/1/2009" Description = "Have you ever looked at a badger and thought i wonder how far you could fire that out of a cannon? Well this talk is for you"; File = "http://www.badgerCannon.org.uk/mp3/070310pm.mp3"; Series = "The Badger planet"; Speaker = "Will Ferell"; Title = "Is it a bird, is it a plane? no its a badger"; } I loop through and pull out the date and convert it from a NSString to a NSDate. I try writing it back in using the code; [[self.MediaDataArray objectAtIndex:i] replaceObjectAtIndex:0 withObject:Date]; but it errors and i am pretty sure it is because i am not putting it back into the array in the same format, ie just as a date not as date = "date". But lets face it i don't really know! Am i barking up the wrong tree? Please help, i have got the coding equivalent of writters block, or alternatively am just being really stupid! thanks in advance

    I've been looking at different tutorials and I know I'm close but I'm getting lost in implementation details because some of them are a little bit dated and a few things have changed since Firefox 3. I have already written the javascript for the firefox extension, now I need to make it into an XPCOM component. This is the functionality that I need: My Javascript file is simple, I have two functions startServer() and stopServer.   • DDMS plugin not loading GPX files

    I am unable to load a GPX file in the DDMS eclipse plugin. When specifying a GPX file, no points are added to the emulator control list. I have tried adding KML files as well, generated in Google earth. Is there a way to get these files to work?     Hi, So i use PopupControlExtender (to edit some of the fields) inside ListViewControl which itself is embeded inside an UpdatePanel. The problem is as follows whenever you cause partail postback the popup panels are created client side outside the updatepanel. And you get more clientside controls with the same clientside ID. When you postback with popup panel the server side control eg.     Hi, this is a pretty basic question but I'm not entirely clear how to do this. I am trying to use a third-party service that has web-based service. The service is called Postful. But I'm not clear what exactly to do? I've looked at ActiveResource (http://api.rubyonrails.org/classes/ActiveResource/Base.html) and rest-client, but I'm still not clear exactly what steps, code, and files to create. Anyway, things are great up until the time when I initiate a DH key exchange. I've compared the traffic when I establish a ssh connection (from openssh client to openssh server), to the traffic when my client connects to the same openssh server. OpenSSH client - OpenSSH server (S for server, C for client): S: SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_5.1p1 Debian-6ubuntu2\r (saying hello) C: SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_5.2\r (introducing myself) C: Key Exchange Init (0x14 = 20) S: Key Exchange Init C: Diffie-Hellman GEX Request (0x22 = 34) (with DH GEX min, number of bits and max) S: Diffie-Hellman Key Exchange Reply (with P, G, etc.) C: Diffie-Hellman GEX Init S: Diffie-Hellman GEX Reply My client - OpenSSH server: S: SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_5.1p1 Debian-6ubuntu2\r (saying hello) C: SSH-2.0-Some_Name\r (introducing myself) C: Key Exchange Init (0x14 = 20) S: Key Exchange Init C: Diffie-Hellman GEX Request (0x22 = 34) (with DH GEX min, number of bits and max) and then a bogus TCP packet as reply (probably the server connection has been terminated after/upon GEX Request. I have yet to use AES128 (which I think is the encryption chosen, but I'm not sure how to verify this...), and I'm still sending in a non-compressed format, looking to get the P, G etc. values to make the DH calculations. So where I'm stranded is: RFC 4419 page 3 http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc4419.txt I've send SSH_MSG_KEY_DH_GEX_REQUEST, but the server does not respond SSH_MSG_KEX_DH_GEX_GROUP. Can anyone give me a little advice on what I'm not understanding here? Does the server not understand my GEX request (due to it expecting encryption, or?)?   • Firefox: Can I use a relative path in the BASE tag?

    I have a little web project where I have many pages and an index/ToC file. The toc file is at the root of my project in toc.html. The pages are spread over a couple of subdirectories and include the toc with an iframe. The project doesn't need a web server, so I can create the HTML in a directory and browse it in my browser. The problem is that I'm running into XSS issues when JavaScript from the toc.html wants to call a function in a page (violation of the same origin policy). So I added base tags in the header with a relative URL to the directory in which toc.html. This works for Konqueror but in Firefox, I have to use absolute paths or the toc won't even display :( Here is an example: <?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8' ?> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <base href="../" target="_top" /> <title>Project 1</title> </head> <body> <iframe class="toc" frameborder="0" src="toc.html"> </iframe> </body> </html> This is file is in a subdirectory page. Firefox won't even load it, saying that it can't find page/toc.html. Is there a workaround? I would really like to avoid absolute paths in my export to keep it the same everywhere (locally and when I upload it on the web server later).

  • Linux: How to find all serial devices (ttyS, ttyUSB and others)?

    What is the proper way to get a list of all available serial ports/devices on a Linux system? In other words, when I iterate over all devices in /dev/, how do I tell which ones are serial ports in the classic way, i.e. those usually supporting baud rates and RTS/CTS flow control? The solution would be coded in C. I ask because I am using a 3rd party library that does this clearly wrong: It appears to only iterate over /dev/ttyS*. The problem is that there are, for instance, serial ports over USB (provided by USB-RS232 adapters), and those are listed under /dev/ttyUSB*. And reading the Serial-HOWTO at Linux.org, I get the idea that there'll be other name spaces as well, as time comes. So I need to find the official way to detect serial devices. Problem is that there appears none documented, or I can't find it. I imagine one way would be to open all files from /dev/tty* and call a specific ioctl() on them that is only available on serial devices. Would that be a good solution, though?

  • html5 vs flash - full comparison chart anywhere?

    So since Steve Jobs said Flash sucks and implied that HTML5 can do everything Flash can without the need for a Plugin, I keep hearing those exact words from a lot of People. I would really like to have a Chart somewhere (similar to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_layout_engines_%28HTML5%29#Form_elements_and_attributes ) that I can just show to those people. Showing all the little things that Flash can do right now, that HTML5/Ajax/CSS is not yet even thinking about. But of course also the things that HTML5 does better. I would like to see details compared like audio playback, realtime audio processing, byte level access, bitmap data manipulation, webcam access, binary sockets, stuff in the works such as P2P technology (adobe stratus) and all the stuff I don't know about myself. Ideally with examples of what can be accomplished with, lets say Binary Sockets (such as a POP3 client) because otherwise it won't mean a lot to non-programmers since they will just say "well we can do without Binary Sockets". And ideally with some current benchmarks and some examples of websites that use this technology. I've searched the web and am surprised not to find anything. So is there such a comparison somewhere? Or does anybody want to create this and post it to Wikipedia? ;-)

I want skills that will enable me to write apps for <--insert hottest web trend here-- (Facebook & iphone apps for example) This is one of my goals as far as Tech. is concerned. I'd also like to have a brod knowledge of different areas of IT. I'm looking into majoring in "Computing & Security Technology". The program is offered by Drexel in conjunction with my CC. It's a 4 year degree. Can someone take a look @ the pdf below. Is the issue related to the custom method I have used? If so, I don't really see the need to include the xml part as the namespace is in the div tag. Is there a way to ensure that this extra stuff gets left out as I asked it to?

    I'm running dozens of map reduce jobs for a number of different purposes using disco. My data has grown enormous and I thought I would try using DDFS for a change rather than standard txt files. I've followed the DISCO map/reduce example Counting Words as a map/reduce job, without to much difficulty and with the help of others, Reading JSON specific data into DISCO I've gotten past one of my latest problems. I'm trying to read data in/out of ddfs to better chunk and distribute it but am having a bit of trouble.     Hi there, I'm trying to put the top of my page (which is all html) in a seperate file so I only need to change things once like the menu bar etc. So I googled some and found a solution on this website as well, but it doesn't work and I don't know why. So I have a page like article.html and on the top I have this: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html lang="en"> <head> <?php include("/pages/header.php"); ?> <!-- rest of the html code --> In the header.php I have the html that should be on the top of each page and it starts with: <?php /** * @author name * website header */ ?> <!-- html code --> So what's wrong with this. When I open the page article.html and right click on it to view the source, I can see the php from above calling the header.php file. Thanks!

    Hi, When I use overflow:hidden for div which is positioned absolute (for menu), other div overlaps. Here is the code. It works fine in FF3. Any help appreciated. Please note that html should be as it is. Also if you can provide solution, just by changing styles of menu div (the div which contains menu text) it is more helpful for me.     I need to add a comment to an HSSF Cell in Excel. Everything works fine the very first time but if I open the same file and run the code again it corrupts the file. I've also noticed that I need to create a Drawing object on a Sheet only once: _sheet.createDrawingPatriarch(); If the line above gets executed more than once comments will not work. So has anyone tried adding comments to Cells, closing the file, opening the file again and trying to add more comments to different cells? The below code works but if I open the file again then comments are not added, plus the file gets corrupted!!! Is there a way to get the existing Drawing object from a Sheet? Any ideas appreciated.   • Spring - How do you set Enum keys in a Map with annotations

    Hi all, I've an Enum class public enum MyEnum{ ABC; } than my 'Mick' class has this property private Map<MyEnum, OtherObj> myMap; I've this spring xml configuration. <util:map id="myMap"> <entry key="ABC" value-ref="myObj" /> </util:map> <bean id="mick" class="com.x.Mick"> <property name="myMap" ref="myMap" /> </bean> and this is fine. I'd like to replace this xml configuration with Spring annotations. Do you have any idea on how to autowire the map? The problem here is that if I switch from xml config to the @Autowired annotation (on the myMap attribute of the Mick class) Spring is throwing this exception nested exception is org.springframework.beans.FatalBeanException: Key type [class com.MyEnum] of map [java.util.Map] must be assignable to [java.lang.String] Spring is no more able to recognize the string ABC as a MyEnum.ABC object. Any idea? Thanks
