• Is there some property like 'visible columns' in advance data grid flex

  Hi friends, I want to some how control the visibility of some columns in my advance data grid. I have a data provider with 115 coumns out of which I want to hide few columns. I know the column index and header field of these columns. Is there some property in Advance data grid where I can specify this directly? Thanks in advance.

• Simple iOS Get Request Not Pulling in Data

  I have a very simple get request that doesn't return data on my script. The script is fine when viewed in the web browser but the app does not pull in the data. Any other script works with this code in the app. I'm unsure of what to do because there shouldn't be a reason for this to not work. Please let me know if you need more information. • Should I use AJAX or get every data beforehand

  I have a web app where I need to change a drop down list dynamically depending on another drop down list. I have two options: Get all the data beforehand with PHP and "manage" it later with Javascript. Or get the data the user wants through AJAX. The thing is, that the page loads with all the data by default and the user can later select a sub category to narrow the drop downs. Which of the two options are better (faster, less resource intensive)?

• WD MBWE II (White Strip Light) 2TB - unable to access data

  I have a WD MBWE II (White Strip Light) 2TB - (WD20000H2NC-00) Was working fine until a few days ago. I guess there was a power failure and after that I am unable to access the 'Public' or the 'Download' folder anymore. I have been searching for answers everywhere but came up empty handed. Web GUI still works, SSH works. I hooked up both the drives on my PC and UFS Explorer sees the drive. But so far I am unable to retrieve any of my data. I do not remember what RAID setting I used when I first got the drive. I can see from GUI that it is set as "Stripe". The drive contains 10 years of family pictures which I really do not want to loose. Sadly and stupidly, I didn't even keep a backup of this drive. Can somebody please help or point me in the right direction. Thank you in advance for your help. Disk Utility on Ubuntu reports 1405 bad sectors on one drive. How can I retrieve my data? Please help.   Hi, I tried to move my mysql data dir from one disk to another, I modified the datadir parameter in my.cnf, but when XAMPP, and more precisely, MySQL starts, this error is displayed and MySQL doesn't run.   I am running Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition R2 x64 and I installed SQL Server 2008 Developer Edition. All of the preliminary checks run fine (Apart from a warning about Windows Firewall and opening ports which is unrelated to this and shouldn't be an issue - I can open those ports). Half way through the actual installation, I get a popup with this error: Could not continue scan with NOLOCK due to data movement. The installation still runs to completion when I press ok. However, at the end, it states that the following services "failed": database engine services sql server replication full-text search reporting services How do I know if this actually means that anything from my installation (which is on a clean Windows Server setup - nothing else on there, no previous SQL Servers, no upgrades, etc) is missing? I know from my programming experience that locks are for concurrency control and the Microsoft help on this issue points to changing my query's lock/transactions in a certain way to fix the issue. But I am not touching any queries? Also, now that I have installed the app, when I login, I keep getting this message: TITLE: Connect to Server ------------------------------ Cannot connect to MSSQLSERVER. ------------------------------ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections.   I'm trying to back up some data on an external hard drive and am finding the transfer rate to be unbearably slow. My environment is as follows: Macbook Pro Unibody (late 2008) Windows 7 RC, 64-bit Lacie, rugged 500GB portable hard drive I have tried using a number of methods including simple copying in Explorer, Teracopy, Crashplan, and Windows backup. I am averaging around 1MB/s which seems terribly slow. How do I identify what is the cause of this slow file transfer, and then how do I go about addressing the issue.

  Are there any good tools to migrate existing firebird databases to PostgreSQL for Linux systems? I've looked at: FBexport which can be used to dump the data as insert statements, but it's mainly written to export/import from one firebird db to another, not as a migration tool. There's also: Firebird to PostgreSQL Win32 tool, but it's only for win32 systems. Is there any good tool to do this? Or should I just roll my own?

  I am trying to capture multicast traffic via Wireshark (actually TShark), however the switch has IGMP snooping enabled and will only send Multicast traffic on the ports that have an active IGMP subscription. I am currently getting around this by having a separate application hold the groups open I wish to record, but I am trying to set up a system to start/stop recording data dynamically and this extra complexity is painful. Is there a way to force Wireshark to send out IGMP Subscriptions for multicast groups it is recording?

• Rsyslog stops sending data to remote server after log rotation

  In my configuration, I have rsyslog who is in charge of following changes of /home/user/my_app/shared/log/unicorn.stderr.log using imfile. The content is sent to another remote logging server using TCP. When the log file rotates, rsyslog stops sending data to the remote server. I tried reloading rsyslog, sending a HUP signal and restarting it altogether, but nothing worked. The only ways I could find that actually worked were dirty: stop the service, delete the rsyslog stat files and start rsyslog again. All that in a postrotate hook in my logrotate file. kill -9 rsyslog and start it over. Is there a proper way for me to do this without touching rsyslog internals? • Encrypted off-site data storage

  My business has a rather unique problem. We work in China and we want to implement a file server paradigm which does not store any files locally, but rather in a server overseas. Applications would be saved onto our local machines, but data would be loaded directly into memory from the cloud, e.g. I load a docx into word at the beginning of the day, saving periodically to the cloud as I work on it, and turn off my computer at night, with nothing saved locally. Considering recent events, we worry about being raided by the Chinese authorities, and although all our data is encrypted, it would not be hard for the authorities to force us to give up the keys. So the goal is not to have anything compromising physically in China. We have about 20 computers, and we need an authenticated, encrypted connection with this overseas file server. A system with Active-Directory-like permissions would be best, so that only management can read or write to certain files, or workers can only access files that relate to their projects, and to which all access can be cut off should the need arise. The file server itself would also need to be encrypted. And for convenience, it would be nice if this system was integrated with each computer's file explorer (like skydrive or dropbox does, but, again, without saving a copy locally), rather than through a browser. I can't find any solution online. Does anyone know of a service that does this? Otherwise I'll have to do it myself (which kinda sounds fun, but I don't really have the time), and I'm not sure where to start. Amazon maybe. But the protocols that offices would use on their intranet typically aren't encrypted; we need all traffic securely tunneled out of the country. Each computer already has a VPN to a server in California, but I'm unsure whether it would be efficient to pipe file transfers through it. Let me know if anyone has any ideas. And this is my first post; feel free say whether this question is inappropriate/needs to be posted elsewhere.

  I have a java code that reads an excel file and writes it to a text file. When i get the output text file, I can see only symbols like this in the notepad. "????????????????????????????" But if i open the text file in wordpad or ms-word, the data is correctly displayed. What could be the error?
