  Let's say I have a collection of PDF files with the following paths: /some/path/pdfs/birds/duck.pdf /some/path/pdfs/birds/goose.pdf /some/path/pdfs/insects/fly.pdf /some/path/pdfs/insects/mosquito.pdf What I'd like to do is generate thumbnails for each PDF that respect the relative path structure, and output to another location, i.e.: /another/path/thumbnails/birds/duck.png /another/path/thumbnails/birds/goose.png /another/path/thumbnails/insects/fly.png /another/path/thumbnails/insects/mosquito.png I'd like this to be done in Ant. I think I can make something work using the <for> task, <fileset>s and <mapper>s, but I am having trouble putting it all together.   I need to take an array of three lines in a text file and sort them base on the first line in Java. I also need to manipulate this as well and then print to screen. I have a test file that is formatted like this: 10 Michael Jackson 12 Richard Woolsey I need to input this from a text file and then rearrange it based on the number associated with the name. At that point, I need to use a random number generator and assign a variable based on the random number to each name. Then I need to print to screen the variable I added and the name in a different format. Here is an example of the output: 12: Woolsey, Richard Variable assigned 10: Jackson, Michael Other variable assigned I highly appreciate any help. I ask because I do not really know how to input the three lines as one variable and then manipulate later on in the program. Thanks, Cory

The functions of the program itself are unimportant as they worked fine before the interrupt so I left them all out. I should be able to input any number of days in the above query using bind variable. So I tried the following and does not seem to work: select * from table1 where time_stamp sysdate - INTERVAL :days day; I tried entering the numeric input both as 10 and '10',for eg. You get ORA-00933 error on 10g.

  Hello, I am trying to use JTidy (jtidy-r938.jar) to sanitize an input HTML string, but I seem to have problems getting the default settings right. Often strings such as "hello world" end up as "helloworld" after tidying. I wanted to show what I'm doing here, and any pointers would be really appreciated: Assume that rawHtml is the String containing the input (real world) HTML.   Hi friends, I have got little tricky issue i.e I am using API of a product which has few methods for uploading image. The UI part of the product has one file upload control which takes files and convert that into binary and save it to database. In the coding part they are using one method where they send this fileupload.postedfile as one of the input parameter to the method. Now my requirement is, I have a directory where there are hundred of files which i have to send each file one by after another to this method as a input. Now i wish to know how to pass a file name as "HttpPostedFile" to that method as a parameter. I have no other option other than using that API (our clients requirement). Thanks

  Consider the following problem: A multi-line string $junk contains some lines which are encoded in UTF-8 and some in ISO-8859-1. I don't know a priori which lines are in which encoding, so heuristics will be needed. I want to turn $junk into pure UTF-8 with proper re-encoding of the ISO-8859-1 lines. Also, in the event of errors in the processing I want to provide a "best effort result" rather than throwing an error. records... i am not able to find any solution /control using which i an do it easily. coz my field's value is in attribute named "Value" when in the examples i saw its between opening and closing tag.. i have 2 methods to do so. 1 . i make one page to edit a single record and pass id of record to that page on editing. open the page in iframe on same page to edit and in page_load get data from database for id passed and fill it in control. 2 . i store xml on server as physical file and use it in page i opened in iframe to edit the record. so i am confused... can anybody please guide me that what shpould i do to let user provide interface to edit this xml data/user profile ?

• Best programming aids for a quadriplegic programmer

  Before you jump to conclusions, yes, this is programming related. It covers a situation that comes under the heading of, "There, but for the grace of God, go you or I." This is brand new territory for me so I'm asking for some serious help here. A young man, Honza Ripa, in a nearby town did the classic Dumb Thing two weeks after graduating from High School -- he dove into shallow water in the Russian River and had a C-4/C-5 break, sometimes called a Swimming Pool break. In a matter of seconds he went from an exceptional golfer and wrestler to a quadriplegic. (Read the story ... all of us should have been so lucky as to have a girlfriend like Brianna.) That was 10 months ago and he has regained only tiny amounts of control of his right index finger and a couple of other hand/foot motions, none of them fine-grained. His total control of his computer (currently running Win7, but we can change that as needed) is via voice command. Honza's not dumb. He had a 3.7 GPA with AP math and physics. The Problems: Since all of his input is via voice command, he is concerned that the predominance of special characters in programming will require vast amount of verbose commands. Does anyone know of any well done voice input system specifically designed for programmers? I'm thinking about something that might be modal--e.g. you say "Python input" and it goes into a macro mode for doing class definitions, etc. Given all of the RSI in programmer-land there's got to be something out there. What OS(es) does it run on? I am planning on teaching him Python, which is my preferred language for programming and teaching. Are there any applications / whatevers that are written in Python and would be a particularly good match for engaging him mentally while supporting his disability? One of his expressed interests is in stock investing, but that not might be a good starting point for a brand-new programmer. There are a lot of environments (Flash, JavaScript, etc) that are not particularly friendly to people with accessibility challenges. I vaguely remember (but cannot find) a research project that basically created an overlay system on top of a screen environment and then allowed macro command construction on top of the screen image. If we can get/train this system, we may be able to remove many hurdles to using the net. I am particularly interested in finding open source Python-based robotics and robotic prostheses projects so that he can simultaneously learn advanced programming concepts while learning to solve some of his own immediate problems. I've done a ton of googling on this, but I know there things I'm missing. I'm asking the SO community to step up to the plate here. I know this group has the answers, so let me hear them! Overwhelm me with the opportunities that any of us might have/need to still program after such a life-changing event.

  So right now I'm bashing my head - at the moment we use an element for a button to give it our own custom font, fine - this works, but as we're using Cufon on the rest of the site, we're wondering if it's possible to get Cufon working on a button. So far I've changed the button to an and using standard css styles on an 'input' or 'input[type="submit"]' element work fine - but I've tried both of these in cufon to no avail. This is a button - so as Cufon generates images, this should work, but maybe I'm doing it wrong - can anyone help?

  Hi, I've been building a simple ticket system and it's all done and working except for when it receives PDF files via email that have been sent using quoted-printable encoding. I've tried using quoted_printable_decode(), the quoted-printable.decode stream filter, the later just created an empty file. • DataAnnotations Automatic Handling of int is Causing a Roadblock

  Summary: DataAnnotation's automatic handling of an "int?" is making me rethink using them at all. Maybe I'm missing something and an easy fix but I can't get DataAnnotations to cooperate. I have a public property with my own custom validation attribute: [MustBeNumeric(ErrorMessage = "Must be a number")] public int? Weight { get; set; } The point of the custom validation attribute is do a quick check to see if the input is numeric and display an appropriate error message. The problem is that when DataAnnotations tries to bind a string to the int? is automatically doesn't validate and displays a "The value 'asdf' is not valid for Weight." For the life of me I can't get DataAnnotations to stop handling that so I can take care of it in my custom attribute. This seems like it would be a popular scenario (to validate that the input in numeric) and I'm guessing there's an easy solution but I didn't find it anywhere.

• hide keyboard in iphone safari webapp

  I'm creating a webapp for the iPhone, based in HTML/CSS/JS. I'm using forms to receive input and pass data to the script, but a problem I'm encountering is that the keyboard won't disappear. The user will enter the information, hit submit, and since it's JavaScript the page doesn't reload. The keyboard remains in place, which is a nuisance and adds another step for users (having to close it). Is there any way to force the keyboard in Safari to go away? Essentially, I have a feeling this question is equivalent to asking how I can force an input box to lose focus or to blur. Looking online, I find plenty of examples to detect the blur event, but none to force this event to occur.

• jquery set focus on dynamic content?

  In jquery I've appended a <li> element to an unordered list. How do I focus on the newly created <li> ? If I do the following: $("ul").append('<li><input type="text">hi!</input></li>'); $("li:last").focus(); //doesn't work because new <li> isn't in dom yet the focus doesn't work, as noted above. I know jquery 1.4.2 has a live() event handler which allows you load event handlers to dynamically added elements, but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong: $(document).ready(function () { $('li').live('load', function () { alert("hi!"); $("li:last").focus(); }); });
