    I have a local collection of recordId's (integers). I need to retrieve records that have every one of their child records' ids in that local collection. Here is my query: public List<int> OwnerIds { get; private set; } ... filteredPatches = from p in filteredPatches where OwnerIds.All(o => p.PatchesOwners.Select(x => x.OwnerId).Contains(o)) select p; I am getting this error: Local sequence cannot be used in Linq to SQL implementation of query operators except the Contains() operator. I get that .All() isn't supported by Linq to SQL, but is there a way to do what I am trying to do?

  • JQuery, ASCX and webmethods not seems to be working

    Hi all, I have a cascading dropdown (3 of them) Type, Categories and Sub Categories. Type loads first and upon selection of Type, Category load and selection of Category, Sub Category loads. Also i have 2 buttons, "Add Category" and "Add Sub Category" Upon clicking on these buttons, i call a JQuery Modal Form to add them. I use Webmethod in code behind to add them to database This works perfectly in ASPX page. Since I need use this in 3-4 pages, i thought of making the above as User control (ASCX). When i try to use this in a webpage, the webmethods in ASCX don't get called. Is my approach correct? what should be done for my scenario lOoking forward for your suggestions.   • Need to change the default browser for an MVC2 project

    I just created my first MVC2 project using the standard template. I need to be able to change the default browser for my project to test in IE (I use chrome as the default on my OS). Unfortunately, the "right click on default.aspx" suggestion which worked in MVC1 can't work with these new projects as they don't have that file. I'm sure I'm overlooking something simple... Thanks.

  • How to convert many-to-one XML data to DataSet?

    I have an XML document that has a collection of objects. Each object has a key/value pair of label and value. I am trying to convert this into a DataSet, but when I do ds.ReadXml(xmlFile), then it creates two columns: label and value.     I get an exception thrown when trying to use Fluent to configure my NHibernate connection to SQLite. The code I use to configure is as follows: var cfg = Fluently.Configure(). Database(SQLiteConfiguration.Standard.ShowSql().UsingFile("MyDb.db")). Mappings(m => m.FluentMappings.AddFromAssemblyOf<MappingsPersistenceModel>()); _sessionFactory = cfg.BuildSessionFactory(); A HibernateException is thrown when BuildSessionFactory() is called, saying: Could not create the driver from NHibernate.Driver.SQLite20Driver, NHibernate, Version=2.1.2.4000, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=aa95f207798dfdb4. It has an InnerException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. Which again has an InnerException: The IDbCommand and IDbConnection implementation in the assembly System.Data.SQLite could not be found. Ensure that the assembly System.Data.SQLite is located in the application directory or in the Global Assembly Cache. If the assembly is in the GAC, use element in the application configuration file to specify the full name of the assembly. Now - to me it sounds like it doesn't find System.Data.SQLite.dll, but I can't understand this. Everywhere this is referenced I have "Copy Local", and I have verified that it is in every build folder for projects using SQLite. I have also copied it manually to every Debug folder of the solution - without luck. What can be causing this? Any ideas? My suspicion is that it is related to .Net4 somehow. The reason is that it worked just fine when I used .Net3.5, and then I changed to .Net4, and the problem started. Am I missing something? How to change it (what is the alternative) in MVC2 ? p.s. Intellisense sees lb_text with no problem. I've tried with different controls with the same outcome.

    I've been playing around with Entity Framework v2 and added some code to insert new entity with many to many relationship , lets say this entity is called meeting. I add hours to meeting : meeting.Hours.Add(hour); and I get different errors on different occasions On Update : Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'Meetings_Id', table 'Plan.dbo.MeetingHour'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails. The statement has been terminated. On Inset : An item with the same key has already been added. But the tricky party is that if I add this manually trough SQL Server Management Studio , I can update the entity with the same value , clearing it first (meeting.Hour.Clear()) Can't see what could be the problem , maybe entity model isn't mapped correctly ?

    This is just another "working in dev server, why not working in IIS" type question. So, I created a nice DAL using NHibernate as described here. When creating an ISession, I hook up an event handler to the HttpApplication.EndRequest to take care of cleaning it up. However, I deployed my site to IIS and it says: Event handlers can only be bound to HttpApplication events during IHttpModule initialization. Since when? What for? Why? How can I bypass it?

Also, User.Identity.IsAuthenticated always returns false. But, all of these issue solved while navigating to another page. Why User.Identity.IsAuthenticated returns false, even user logged-in properly? And, is there any way to get user's profile information within LoggedIn event of Login control?
