• Remove mailmerge data source via OpenXML

  I have some code that uses OpenXML to open up a docx file, find all mailmerge fields, and replace them with data (ignoring the datasource that may have been provided). I initially tested this against a document created in Office 2007 and it seemed to work great. We then created one in 2003 based off an Excel spreadsheet data source and saved it to 2007 docx format. When we open the file produced by my code, Word warns the user that it is going to execute some SQL, specifically "SELECT * from 'Sheet1$'". It has options of Yes/No. Selecting Yes requires I find the data source. Selecting No brings me to the document, which appears to be correct. I'm not sure why I'm now seeing this pop up. Perhaps it's due to a different data source for the 2003 document? My hope was that there was a way to delete all references to any datasources and that the pop-up wouldn't show. I found this, but it doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions?

• How does Visual Studio's source control integration work with Perforce?

  We're using Perforce and Visual Studio. Whenever we create a branch, some projects will not be bound to source control unless we use "Open from Source Control", but other projects work regardless. From my investigations, I know some of the things involved: In our .csproj files, there are these settings: <SccProjectName <SccLocalPath <SccAuxPath <SccProvider Sometimes they are all set to "SAK", sometimes not. It seems things are more likely to work if these say "SAK". In our .sln file, there are settings for many of the projects: SccLocalPath# SccProjectFilePathRelativizedFromConnection# SccProjectUniqueName# (The # is a number that identifies each project.) SccLocalPath is a path relative to the solution file. Often it is ".", sometimes it is the folder that the project is in, and sometimes it is ".." or "..\..", and it seems to be bad for it to point to a folder above the solution folder. The relativized one is a path from that folder to the project file. It will be missing entirely if SccLocalPath points to the project's folder. If the SccLocalPath has ".." in it, this path might include folder names that are not the same between branches, which I think causes problems. So, to finally get to the specifics I'd like to know: What happens when you do "Change source control" and bind projects? How does Visual Studio decide what to put in the project and solution files? What happens when you do "Open from source control"? What's this "connection" folder that SccLocalPath and SccProjectFilePathRelativizedFromConnection refer to? How does Visual Studio/Perforce pick it? Is there some recommended way to make the source control bindings continue to work even when you create a new branch of the solution?

  Hi All, I have a small excel program that is use to upload data to an SQL server. This has been working well for a while. My problem now is that I would like to offer to users a function to update an existing record in SQL. As each row on this table has a unique id columne. There is a column call UID which is the primary key. • Ruby rail debug output

  Hi all: I am just starting to write ruby rails. I wrote a controller but is getting wrong number of "arguments (1 for 0)" error, I can't understand why. It has no information on where the error occurred? It has a full list of stack traces but my controller file is not in there! In my controller I have just two methods, that I was going to test out activemq. But after I put the controller out, I got the above error, so I commented out all the code, but I still get the same error. I can't figure out why. I searched google for ruby debug, I have not found anything helpful.   When opening a connection to SQL Server 2005 from our web app, we occasionally see this error: "Impersonate Session Security Context" cannot be called in this batch because a simultaneous batch has called it. We use MARS and connection pooling. Yet how can this be if the connection has only just been opened? Could this be something to do with connection pooling interacting strangely with MARS? UPDATE: For the short-term we have implemented a workaround by clearing out the connection pool whenever this happens, to get rid of the bad connection, as it otherwise keeps getting handed back to various users. (Not too bad as this only happens a couple of times a day.) But if anyone has any further ideas, we are still looking out for a real solution...

• Why is my Android app camera preview running out of memory on my AVD?

  I have yet to try this on an actual device, but expect similar results. Anyway, long story short, whenever I run my app on the emulator, it crashes due to an out of memory exception. My code really is essentially the same as the camera preview API demo from google, which runs perfectly fine.   I am using scala 2.7.7, and wanted to parse CSV file and store the data in SQLite database. I ended up using OpenCSV java library to parse the CSV file, and using sqlitejdbc library.   I have one OPC ( OLE for Process control ) server project which is developed into visual studio 2005. I want to run it in visual studio 2008. The coding for the OPC server project is done in VC++. I want to connect my OPC client to this OPC server. When I was opened the OPC server project which was build into visual studio 2005 into visual studio 2008 first time it was asking for conversion wizard. I gone through that wizard & successfully finished that wizard. But when I build ( by right clicking on the project & choosing build solution ) it is giving lots of error near about 64 errors. Most of the errors are like - fetal error C1083:Can not open type library file:'msxml4.dll':No such file or directory, fetal error LINK1181:can not open input file 'rpcndr.lib' , error C2051:case expression not constant. only these 3 types of errors in am getting. All these 3 errors are repeated in Error list & becoming bunch of 64 errors. Please provide me the solution for the above issue. Can you provide me any suusgestion or link or any way through whcih I can resolve the above issue?

  How can I use two cursors in the same routine? If I remove the second cursor declaration and fetch loop everthing works fine. • Import Excel 2007 into SQL 2000 using Classic ASP and ADO

  I have the following code from a legacy app which currently reads from an excel 2003 spreadsheet on a server, but I need this to run from my machine which uses excel 2007. When I debug on my machine ADO does not seem to be reading the spreadsheet. I have checked all file paths etc. and location of spreadsheet that is all fine. I've heard that you cannot use the jet db engine for excel 2007 anymore? Can someone confirm this? What do I need to do to get this to work?   so I'm trying to store values in an array of Lists in C# winForms. • Getting gridview column value as parameter for javascript function

The web service is running on Glassfish and is soap 1.1, I've tried using all the packaged wcf bindings but have not been able to get them to work. I started down the path of using a MessageInspector, and wrote one but then realized there must be a better way, surely WCF provides some way to insert saml 2.0 assertions. I've made the most progress writing a custom binding - i've been able to get the timestamp and signature nodes in the soap header, but cannot for the life of me figure out the saml assertion.   Hello! I'm developing a project that produces SVG files with custom embed fonts. SVG font definition I compose as SVG font tag with help of http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fontface/generator or Batik SVG Toolkit. The resulted SVG file I try to open in following applications: Adobe Illustrator CS4 - text has default font and message noticed about font not found in system CorelDRAW X5 - text has default font and any messages don't noticed Batik SVG Browser (Squiggle) - renders text correctly The problem is all modern typographies use CorelDRAW and Abode Illustrator for print vector graphic and them render not correctly SVG. Solution As for me, I see follow solutions: Save the text with custom font as SVG path. This will work but, I can't find any solution that can convert text + TTF to SVG path data; Use other vector format, f.e. AI, EPS or CDR. This solution is difficult for me, because I use SVG paths as part of input data; Recommend our users to use Batik SVG Browser (Squiggle) or any other application which are based on Batik SVG Toolkit library. Batik SVG Toolkit requires Java runtime :( If anyone know some knowledge to open SVG embed fonts in Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW please share them. I would be grateful for any help. • MAPI_E_NOT_FOUND on OpenMsgStore

  Hi, I'm trying to open the MessageStore of a user using MAPI. The weird thing is, when I run this a console application, while I'm logged with the user, everything works fine. But when I run this as a Windows Service I get MAPI_E_NOT_FOUND when trying to open the MessageStore. I already configured the service to run as the user. MapiLogonEx seems to work fine and GetMsgStoreTables also gives me the correct results (I verfied that the EntryID of the MessageStore is correct). • Jasper Reports and iReport issue

  I am having an issue with JasperReports I can not solve. I am using Eclipse, OpenReports 3.2 and IReport 3.7 The issue I am having is that the report does nothing. When I preview the report in IReport I can at least get a "Document has no pages" message but when I try to open it using OpenReports it doesn't do anything. I get the open reports header and the copyright message but nothing between them. I was able to track it down to line 150 in ReportRunAction.java in OpenReports. That line is: jasperPrint = jasperEngine.fillReport(reportInput); At least that is the line the page dies on. I can't swear that the issue isn't that parameter. Through looking around all I have been able to find is something about how the report needs to be compiled with the same version of the jasperreports.jar that OpenReports uses. I have no idea how to tell if/what version of jasper reports is being bundled into the .jasper file though. Is that my problem? If so how do I tell/set the version of the jar that gets bundled? If not; help!

• How Can I Prevent Memory Leaks in IE Mobile?

  Hi All, I've written an application for use offline (with Google Gears) on devices using IE Mobile. The devices are experiencing memory leaks at such a rate that the device becomes unusable over time. The problem page fetches entries from the local Gears database and renders a table of each entry with a link in the last column of each row to open the entry ( the link is just onclick="open('myID')" ). When they've done with the entry they return to the table, which is RE-rendered. It's the repeated building of this table that appears to be the problem. Mainly the onclick events. The table is generated in essence like this: var tmp=""; for (var i=0; i<100; i++){ tmp+="<tr><td>row "+i+"</td><td><a href=\"#\" id=\"LINK-"+i+"\""+ " onclick=\"afunction();return false;\">link</a></td></tr>"; } document.getElementById('view').innerHTML = "<table>"+tmp+"</table>"; I've read up on common causes of memory leaks and tried setting the onclick event for each link to "null" before re-rendering the table but it still seems to leak. Anybody got any ideas? I ended up getting it working pretty well but then I noticed my server's CPU usage spiked up over 100% when I had it running in the background.   The computer is connected to measuring device via a physical COM1. I have simple form where I open a serial port, tell the device that I'm alive and occasionally the device sends data.   Right I'm trying to send an Email form an excel spreadsheet though lotus notes, it has an attachment and the body needs to be in HTML. I've got some code that from all I've read should allow me to do this however it doesn't. Without the HTML body the attachment will send, when I impliment a HTML body the Email still sends but the attachment dissapears, I've tried rearanging the order of the code cutting out bits that might not be needed but all is invain. In the manifest I have these settings on it <activity android:name=".Toggle" android:exported="true" android:theme="@android:style/Theme.Translucent.NoTitleBar"> As it is now I can create a shortcut on the home screen then press it. The first time I press it it starts the Toggle activity and completes it fine, but it also opens up the TimeClock activity on the screen. If I then hit the back button I go back to the home. I can now press this shortcut and it will start the Toggle activity and not change the screen. Before I added: shortcutIntent.addFlags(Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_CLEAR_TOP); It would open up the TimeClock activity every time. Now it is just the first time. But I want it to never show anything on the screen when the Toggle shortcut is pressed. Does anyone have any idea of how to get rid of that?
