I am trying to link my php form and my sql but having difficulties

I am not sure what I am doing wrong as far as my php goes but I can't get my form to link with my sql. Ruby gem installation error after OSX Yosemite and Xcode 6 installation

How do I use C# and ADO.NET to query an Oracle table with a spatial column of type SDO_GEOMETRY?

My development machine is running Windows 7 Enterprise, 64-bit version. I am using Visual Studio 2010 Release Candidate. I am connecting to an Oracle 11g Enterprise server version 11.1.0.7.0. I had a difficult time locating Oracle client software that is made for 64-bit Windows systems and eventually landed here to download what I assume is the proper client connectivity software. I added a reference to "Oracle.DataAccess" which is version 2.111.6.0 (Runtime Version is v2.0.50727). I am targeting .NET CLR version 4.0 since all properties of my VS Solution are defaults and this is 2010 RC. I was then able to write a console application in C# that established connectivity, executed a SELECT statement, and properly returned data when the table in question does NOT contain a spatial column. My problem is that this no longer works when the table I query has a column of type SDO_GEOMETRY in it. Below is the simple console application I am trying to run that reproduces the problem. I don't know if there is some configuration on my machine or the Oracle machine that needs to be done, or if the Oracle client software I have installed is wrong, or old and needs to be updated. WCF Contract Name 'IMyService' could not be found?

The contract name 'IMyService' could not be found in the list of contracts implemented by the service 'MyService'.. --- System.InvalidOperationException: The contract name 'IMyService' could not be found in the list of contracts implemented by the service 'MyService'. This is driving me crazy. I have a WCF web service that works on my dev machine, but when I copy it to a Virtual Machine that I am using for testing, I get the error that seems to indicate that I am not implementing the interface, but it does not make sense because the service does work on my windows xp IIS. the Virtual machine uses Windows Server 2003 IIS. Any ideas? One thing to note here is that I get this error on my VM even while just trying to access the service in a web browser as the client. Note: I am using principalPermissionMode="UseWindowsGroups", but that is not a problem on my local machine. I just add myself to the appropriate windows group. Audio Recording with Appcelerator on Android

I would like to record audio and then send the file to a webserver. I am using Titanium 1.8.2 on Win7. The application I am woring on is both for Android and iphone and I do realise that Titanium.Media.AudioRecorder and Titanium.Media.AudioPlayer are for these purpose. Let's concentrate on android for a while. On that platform you can achieve audio recording by creating an intent and then you handle the file in your application. See more here. This implementation has a couple of drawbacks: You cannot stay in your application (as a native audio recorder will start up) You only get back an uri from the recorder and not the actual file. Another implementation is done by Codeboxed. This module is for recording an audio without using intents. The only problem that I could not get this working (along with other people) and the codeboxed team does not respond to anyone since last year. So my question is: Do you know how to record audio on android without using an intent? Thanks in advance. Edit: My problem with codeboxed's module: I downloaded the module from here. I copied the zip file into my project directory. Ivy resolve not working with dynamic artifact

I've been using Ivy a bit but I seem to still have a lot to learn. I have two projects. One is a web app and the other is a library upon which the web app depends. The set up is that the library project is compiled to a jar file and published using Ivy to a directory within the project. In the web app build file, I have an ant target that calls the Ivy resolve ant task. What I'd like to do is have the web app using the dynamic resolve mode during development (on developer's local machines) and default resolve mode for test and production builds. Previously I was appending a time stamp to the library archive file so that Ivy would notice changes in file when the web app tried to resolve its dependency on it. Within Eclipse this is cumbersome because, in the web app, the project had to be refreshed and the build path tweaked every time a new library jar was published. Publishing a similarly named jar file every time would, I figure, only require developers to refresh the project. The problem is that the web app is unable to retrieve the dynamic jar file. Configuring Cruise Control Net with sourcesafe - Unable to load array item 'executable'

Hi all, I'm trying to create a continuous integration environment. To do so, I've used a guide that can be found at http://www.15seconds.com/issue/040621.htm. In this step by step, the goal is to create a CI with CCNet, NAnt, NUni, NDoc, FxCop and source safe. I've been able to create my build by using the command prompt (despite the the different versions issues). The problem has come with the configuration of ccnet.config I've made some changes because of the new versions, but I'm still getting errors when starting the CCNet server. rails: "unknown action" message when action is clearly specified

hi, I had hard time to figure out why I've been getting "unknown action" error message when I was do some editing: Unknown action No action responded to 11. Currently sites which reference this library reference it directly by the project(csproj) on the developer's computer - not a built version of the library so that changes and source code case easily be viewed when dealing code from this library. This works quite well and would prefer to not have to switch to binary references (but will if this is the only solution). The problem I have is that because of some of the functionality that was added onto the MVC1 based library (view engines, model binders etc) several of the sites reliant on these libraries need to stay on MVC1 until we have full evaluated and tested them on MVC2. I would prefer to not have to fork or have two copies on each dev machine. Maven not setting classpath for dependencies properly

If I move the "mysql-connector-java-5.1.14.jar" file that maven downloaded into my $JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/ext/ folder, everything is fine when I run the jar. I think I should be able to just specify the dependency in the pom.xml file and maven should take care of setting the classpath for the dependency jars automatically. Is this incorrect? Passing a list of files to javac

How can I get the javac task to use an existing fileset? In my build.xml I have created several filesets to be used in multiple places throughout build file. And do so without having to specify the files every time. The only problem with this is that javac does not support filelist. It also does not support fileset, path or pathset. I've tried using but it treats the list as a single file name. Another thing I tried is sending the reference directly (not using toString) and using but include does not have a ref attribute. SO THE QUESTION IS: How do you get the javac task to use a reference to a fileset that was defined in another part of the build file? I'm not interested in solutions that cause me to have multiple javac tasks. Completely re-writting the macro is acceptable. Changes to the targets are also acceptable provided redundant code between targets is kept to a minimum. p.s. Another problem is that fileset wants a comma separated list. I've only done a brief search for a way to convert semi-colons to commas and haven't found a way to do that. p.p.s. I'm trying to create a debug build with a corresponding debug installer for our product. I'm new to Wix so please forgive any naivety contained herein. The debug Dlls in my project are dependent on both the VS2008 and the VS2008SP1 debug runtimes. Everythings works correct, but i have some memory LEAKS in the process of c++ program... We have this dynamic uploader which creates a new instance of swfupload. I'm a little bit confused with the outputs produced by firefox and ie. Firefox have the same output as chrome, safari and opera. Whenever I clicked a button for adding a new instance, the previous instances of swfupload in firefox refresh while IE don't. Maven does not resolve a local Grails plug-in

My goal is to take a Grails web application and build it into a Web ARchive (WAR file) using Maven, and the key is that it must populate the "plugins" folder without live access to the internet. An "out of the box" Grails webapp will already have the plugins folder populated with JAR files, but the maven build script should take care of populating it, just like it does for any traditional WAR projects (such as WEB-INF/lib/ if it's empty) This is an error when executing mvn grails:run-app with Grails 1.1 using Maven 2.0.10 and org.grails:grails-maven-plugin:1.0. I've tried installing the plugin manually to my local repository and making it an explicit dependency in POM.xml, but it's still not being recognized. Maybe you can't pull down grails plugins like you would a standard maven reference? mvn install:install-file -DgroupId=org.grails -DartifactId=grails-hibernate -Dversion=1.1 -Dpackaging=zip -Dfile=%GRAILS_HOME%/plugins/grails-hibernate-1.1.zip I can manually setup the Grails webapp from the command-line, which creates that local ./plugins folder properly. Unable to install Xdebug

I've registered xdebug in php.ini (as per http://xdebug.org/docs/install) but it's not showing up when i run "php -m" or when i get a test page to run "phpinfo()". I've just installed the latest version of XAMPP. Can anyone provide any suggestions in getting xdebug to show up? Would you like to run XP Mode, but prefer Sun’s VirtualBox for virtualization? Thanks to the free VMLite plugin, you can quickly and easily run XP Mode in or alongside VirtualBox. Yesterday we showed you one method to install XP Mode in VirtualBox, unfortunately in that situation you lose XP’s activation, and it isn’t possible to reactivate it. Today we show you a tried and true method for running XP mode in VirtualBox and integrating it seamlessly with Windows 7. Note: You need to have Windows 7 Professional or above to use XP Mode in this manner. Install XP Mode Make sure you’re logged in with Administrator rights for the entire process. The first thing you’ll want to do is install XP Mode on your system (link below). You don’t need to install Windows Virtual PC. Go through and install XP Mode using the defaults. Install VirtualBox Next you’ll need to install VirtualBox 3.1.2 or higher if it isn’t installed already. If you have an older version of VirtualBox installed, make sure to update it. During setup you’re notified that your network connection will be reset. Check the box next to Always trust software from “Sun Microsystems, Inc.” then click Install. Setup only takes a couple of minutes, and does not require a reboot…which is always nice. Install VMLite XP Mode Plugin The next thing we’ll need to install is the VMLite XP Mode Plugin. Again Installation is simple following the install wizard. During the install like with VirtualBox you’ll be asked to install the device software. After it’s installed go to the Start menu and run VMLite Wizard as Administrator. Select the location of the XP Mode Package which by default should be in C:\Program Files\Windows XP Mode. Accept the EULA…and notice that it’s meant for Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate editions. Next, name the machine, choose the install folder, and type in a password. Select if you want Automatic Updates turned on or not. Wait while the process completes then click Finish. The VMLite XP Mode will set up to run the first time. That is all there is to this section. You can run XP Mode from within the VMLite Workstation right away. XP Mode is fully activated already, and the Guest Additions are already installed, so there’s nothing else you need to do! XP Mode is the whole way ready to use. Integration with VirtualBox Since we installed the VMLite Plugin, when you open VirtualBox you’ll see it listed as one of your machines and you can start it up from here. Here we see VMLite XP Mode running in Sun VirtualBox. Integrate with Windows 7 To integrate it with Windows 7 click on Machine \ Seamless Mode… Here you can see the XP menu and Taskbar will be placed on top of Windows 7. From here you can access what you need from XP Mode. Here we see XP running on Virtual Box in Seamless Mode. We have the old XP WordPad sitting next to the new Windows 7 version of WordPad. This works so seamlessly you forget if your working in XP or Windows 7. In this example we have Windows Home Server Console running in Windows 7, while installing MSE from IE 6 in XP Mode. At the top of the screen you will still have access to the VMs controls. You can click the button to exit Seamless Mode, or simply hit the right “CTRL+L” Conclusion This is a very slick way to run XP Mode in VirtualBox on any machine that doesn’t have Hardware Virtualization. This method also doesn’t lose the XP Mode activation and is actually extremely easy to set up. Where is my app.config for SSIS?

Sometimes when working with SSIS you need to add or change settings in the .NET application configuration file, which can be a bit confusing when you are building a SSIS package not an application. First of all lets review a couple of examples where you may need to do this. You are using referencing an assembly in a Script Task that uses Enterprise Library (aka EntLib), so you need to add the relevant configuration sections and settings, perhaps for the logging application block. You are using using Enterprise Library in a custom task or component, and again you need to add the relevant configuration sections and settings. You are using a web service with Microsoft Web Services Enhancements (WSE) 3.0 and hosting the proxy in SSIS, in an assembly used by your package, and need to add the configuration sections and settings. You need to change behaviours of the .NET framework which can be influenced by a configuration file, such as the System.Net.Mail default SMTP settings. Perhaps you wish to configure System.Net and the httpWebRequest header for parsing unsafe header (useUnsafeHeaderParsing), which will change the way the HTTP Connection manager behaves. You are consuming a WCF service and wish to specify the endpoint in configuration. There are no doubt plenty more examples but each of these requires us to identify the correct configuration file and and make the relevant changes. There are actually several configuration files, each used by a different execution host depending on how you are working with the SSIS package. The folders we need to look in will actually vary depending on the version of SQL Server as well as the processor architecture, but most are all what we can call the Binn folder. The SQL Server 2005 Binn folder is at C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\Binn\, compared to C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\DTS\Binn\ for SQL Server 2008. If you are on a 64-bit machine then you will see C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\Binn\ for the 32-bit executables and C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\Binn\ for 64-bit, so be sure to check all relevant locations. Of course SQL Server 2008 may have a C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\DTS\Binn\ on a 64-bit machine too. To recap, the version of SQL Server determines if you look in the 90 or 100 sub-folder under SQL Server in Program Files (C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\nn\) . If you are running a 64-bit operating system then you will have two instances program files, C:\Program Files (x86)\ for 32-bit and C:\Program Files\ for 64-bit. You may wish to check both depending on what you are doing, but this is covered more under each section below. There are a total of five specific configuration files that you may need to change, each one is detailed below: DTExec.exe.config DTExec.exe is the standalone command line tool used for executing SSIS packages, and therefore it is an execution host with an app.config file. e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\Binn\DTExec.exe.config The file can be found in both the 32-bit and 64-bit Binn folders. DtsDebugHost.exe.config DtsDebugHost.exe is the execution host used by Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) / Visual Studio when executing a package from the designer in debug mode, which is the default behaviour. e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\Binn\DtsDebugHost.exe.config The file can be found in both the 32-bit and 64-bit Binn folders. This may surprise some people as Visual Studio is only 32-bit, but thankfully the debugger supports both. This can be set in the project properties, see the Run64BitRuntime property (true or false) in the Debugging pane of the Project Properties. dtshost.exe.config dtshost.exe is the execution host used by what I think of as the built-in features of SQL Server such as SQL Server Agent e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\Binn\dtshost.exe.config This file can be found in both the 32-bit and 64-bit Binn folders devenv.exe.config Something slightly different is devenv.exe which is Visual Studio. This configuration file may also need changing if you need a feature at design-time such as in a Task Editor or Connection Manager editor. Visual Studio 2005 for SQL Server 2005 - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe.config Visual Studio 2008 for SQL Server 2008 - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe.config Visual Studio is only available for 32-bit so on a 64-bit machine you will have to look in C:\Program Files (x86)\ only. DTExecUI.exe.config The DTExec UI tool can also have a configuration file and these cab be found under the Tools folders for SQL Sever as shown below. C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Tools\Binn\VSShell\Common7\IDE\DTExecUI.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Binn\VSShell\Common7\IDE\DTExecUI.exe A configuration file may not exist, but if you can find the matching executable you know you are in the right place so can go ahead and add a new file yourself. In summary we have covered the assembly configuration files for all of the standard methods of building and running a SSIS package, but obviously if you are working programmatically you will need to make the relevant modifications to your program’s app.config as well.

How To Configure Remote Desktop To Hyper-V Guest Virtual Machines

Configuring Remote Desktop (RDP) from a host Hyper-V machine to a guest virtual machine can be tricky, so this post is dedicated to the issues and resolution steps I went through to allow RDP. Cutting to the point, below are the things to look for followed by some explanation about my scenario if you care to read. This is not an exhaustive list of what is required, just the items that were causing problems for my particular scenario. Requirements Allow Remote Desktop Connections in guest OS. The network adapter type must allow communication with host machine (e.g. use an “Internal” virtual adapter.) If running Server 2008 R2 on guest, network discovery mode must be turned on. If running Server 2008 R2 on guest, the services supporting network discovery mode must be running: - DNS Client - Function Discovery Resource Publication - SSDP Discovery - UPnP Device Host My Environment A quick word about my environment. I am running Windows Server 2008 R2 with Hyper V on my laptop and numerous guest VMs running Windows Server 2003 R2 or Windows Server 2008 R2. I run a domain controller VM and then 1 or 2 SharePoint servers depending on my work needs. I’ve found this setup to work well except when it comes to the display window for my VMs. The Issue Ever since I began running Hyper-V I haven’t been able to RDP to my guest VMs which means the resolution for my connection windows ha been limited to what the native Hyper-V connections allow. During personal use I can put the resolution up to 1152 x 864, but during presentations I am usually limited to a measly 800 x 600. That is until today when I decided to fully investigate why I couldn’t connect via RDP. First a thank you to John Ross (@johnrossjr), Christina Wheeler (@cwheeler76) and Clayton Cobb (@warrtalon) for various suggestions while I was researching tonight. As it turns out I had not 1, not 2, but 3 items preventing me from using RDP. Let’s dig into the requirements above. Allow RDP Connection This item I had previously taken care of, but it bears repeating because by default Windows Server 2008 R2 does not allow RDP connections. Change the setting from “Don’t allow…” to whichever “Allow connections…” setting suits your needs. I chose the less secure option as this is just my dev laptop. Network Adapter Type When I originally configured my VMs I configured each to use 2 network adapters: one using the physical ethernet adapter for internet use and a virtual private adapter for communication between the VMs. The connection for the ethernet adapter is an "”External” adapter and thus doesn’t connect between the host and guest. The virtual private adapter allowed communication ONLY between the VMs and not to my host. There is a third option “Internal” which allows communication between VMs as well as to the host. After finding out this distinction I promptly created an Internal network adapter and assigned that to my VMs. Turn On Network Discovery Seems like a pretty common sense thing, but in order to allow remote desktop connections the target computer must able to be found by the source computer (explained here.) One of the settings that controls if a computer can be found on the network is aptly named Network Discovery. By default Windows Server 2008 R2 turns Network Discovery off for security purposes. To enable it open up the Network and Sharing Center. Click “Change Advanced Sharing Settings” on the left. On the following screen select “Turn on network discovery” for the currently used profile and click Save Settings. You may notice though that your selection to turn on network discovery doesn’t save. If this is the case then you most likely don’t have the supporting services running (as was my case.) Network Discovery Supporting Services There are a total of 4 services (listed again below) that need to be running before you can turn on network discovery (explained here.) The below images highlight these services. In my guest VM I found that I had DNS Client already running while the other 3 were disabled. I set them all to enabled and started the ones that were stopped. After this change I returned to the Sharing settings screen and found that Network Discovery was turned on. I’m not sure whether this was picking up my attempt to turn it on previously or if starting those services turned it on. Either way the end result was a success. - DNS Client - Function Discovery Resource Publication - SSDP Discovery - UPnP Device Host Before and After Results The first image is the smaller square shaped viewing window used by the Hyper-V native connection. The second is the full-screen RDP connection in all its widescreen glory. Conclusion Over the past few months I’ve found Hyper-V to be very useful for virtualizing my development environments, but I’ve also had a steep learning curve to get various items configured just right. Allowing RDP connections to guest VMs was one area that I hadn’t been able to get right for the longest time. Now that I resolved these issues I hope that others can avoid the pitfalls that I ran into.
