    Hi all I am using a POCO class name "Company" generate from the T4 POCO code generator to create a derived class - name "CompanyBO" by "public class CompanyBO:Company", but when i call addObject method: public void Delete(T entity) { CustomerWebPortalEntities entities = new CustomerWebPortalEntities(); entities.AddObject(entity.GetType().BaseType.Name, entity); entities.DeleteObject(entity); SaveChanges(); } it compliant this: The EntitySet name 'CustomerWebPortalEntities.Company' could not be found. System.Data.Objects.ObjectContext.GetEntitySet(String entitySetName, String entityContainerName) at System.Data.Objects.ObjectContext.GetEntitySetFromName(String entitySetName) Could you please tell me whats going wrong here?   • Business entity: private instance VS single instance

    Suppose my WinForms application has a business entity Order, the entity is used in multiple views, each view handles a different domain or use-case in the application. As an example, one managing orders, the other one digging into one order and displaying additional data. If I'd use nHibernate (or any other ORM) and use one session/dataContext per view (or per db action), I'd end up getting two different instances for the same Order (let's say orderId = 1). Although functionally the same entity, they are technically two different instances. Yes, I could implement Equals/GetHashcode to make them "seem" the same. Why would you go for a single instance per entity vs private instances per view or per use-case? Having single instances has the advantage of sharing INotifyPropertyChanged events, and sharing additional (non-persistent) data. Having a private instance in each view would give you the flexibility of the undo functionality on a view level. In the example above, I'd allow the user to change order details, and give them the flexibility to not save the change. Here, synchronisation between the view/use-case happens on a data persistence level. What would your argument be?

    I've to build a 3D user experience with HTML5 and any required JS library which provides such functionality. 3D scene consists of a cylindrical pipe and surface. It has 360 degree rotation and can zoom in and out. As user selects a parameter, specific value of that parameter at various depth of pipe in surface should display. I've searched for HTML5 3d and JS libraries and found three.js could help for this.Also found this useful presentation on HTML 3d engine: http://projects.mariusgundersen.net/OnGameStart/#1 .But as this is my first time with HTML5 3d modeling, how should I initiate to build ? What parameters should be considered ? Which tools and libraries would best fit for such requirements ? I would like to create a 3d model using HTML5 and JS 3d engine as shown in the 1st image.

  • is there a way to create an item template (t4) installer like the POCO generator?

    Subject says it all. I want to modify the POCO generation adapter (http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/EFPocoAdapter) to generate my own code. I have the .tt adapters done, but I want to be able to distribute this to coworkers, so they right-click on the model, choose "Generate Code", and my t4 templates appear in the options along with the other choices. Is there an easy way to do this? I found some articles at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/tsyyf0yh(VS.80).aspx but it was focused on generic templates, and I'm looking for specifically model templates.

  • How can I simply change the Timezone Offset with Zend_Date?

    I'm using Zend_Date to manage dates/times in a scheduling app. The only way I'm able to determine the user's Timezone is via Javascript which only gives a Timezone Offset. Zend_Date only seems to take Timezones in the 'America/New_York' format. Is there a way to get the users timezone in this format or set the Timezone Offset with Zend_Date? Thanks!

    I have a bunch of int key fields in my index and trying to do a simple range search like this: `gender:1 AND height:[120 TO 180]` This should give me male in the height range 120 to 180. But for some reason i get this exception: `At least one range query boundary term must be non-empty term` How would i debug this? Is it just Zend_Search_Lucene being buggy?

    I am pretty sure this is some problem with the Apache configuration because it used to work on the previous hosting provider with the same PHP/MySQL configuration. In my application, users are able to delete photos by going to URIs like this: http://example.com/my-account/remove-media/id/9/ret/my-account%252Fedit-album%252Fid%252F1 The paramater id is an id of a photo to be removed, the parameter ret is a relative URL where user should be redirected after the removal of the photo but after clicking on a link like that I get 404 Not Found error with the text: Not Found The requested URL /public/my-account/remove-media/id/9/ret/my-account/edit-album/id/1 was not found on this server. Though it used to work on my previous hosting provider so I guess it is just some easy Apache configuration issue?   • If I select from an IQueryable then the Include is lost

    The include does not work after I perform a select on the IQueryable query. Is there a way arround this? However the related include data does not seem to get transferred into the new Contacts collection that is created from this IQueryable using the Select New {} code above. Is there a way to preserve this Include data when it gets passed into a new object?

  • Combo box in a scrollable panel causing problems

    I have a panel with AutoScroll set to true. In it, I am programmatically adding ComboBox controls. If I add enough controls to exceed the viewable size of the panel a scroll bar appears (so far so good). However, if I open one of the combo boxes near the bottom of the viewable area the combo list isn't properly displayed and the scrollable area seems to be expanded. This results in all of the controls being "pulled" to the new bottom of the panel with some new blank space at the top. If I continue to tap on the drop down at the bottom of the panel the scrollable area will continue to expand indefinitely. I'm anchoring the controls to the left, right and top so I don't think anchoring is involved. Is there something obvious that could be causing this? Update: It looks like the problem lies with anchoring the controls to the right. If I don't anchor to the right then I don't get the strange behavior. However, without right anchoring the control gets cut off by the scroll bar. Here's a simplified test case I built that shows the issue: public Form1() { InitializeComponent(); Panel panel = new Panel(); panel.Size = new Size(80, 200); panel.AutoScroll = true; for (int i = 0; i < 10; ++i) { ComboBox cb = new ComboBox(); cb.Anchor = AnchorStyles.Left | AnchorStyles.Right | AnchorStyles.Top; cb.Items.Add("Option 1"); cb.Items.Add("Option 2"); cb.Items.Add("Option 3"); cb.Items.Add("Option 4"); cb.Location = new Point(0, i * 24); panel.Controls.Add(cb); } Controls.Add(panel); } If you scroll the bottom of the panel and tap on the combo boxes near the bottom you'll notice the strange behavior.

    Hi, I don't know how to perform this query using Linq and the EF. Imagine I have three tables A, B and C. A and B have a many-to-many relationship. B and C have a 1-to-many relationship. I want to obtain records from B including C but filtering from A's Id. I can get easily the records from B: var b = Context.A.Where(x => x.Id.Equals(aId)).SelectMany(x => x.B); but when I try to include C I don't know how to do it: //This doesn't work var b = Context.A.Where(x => x.Id.Equals(aId)).SelectMany(x => x.B.Include("C")); Also I've tried this with no luck (it is equivalent to the above): //Not working var b = (from a in Context.A.Where(x => x.Id.Equals(aId)) from b in a.B.Include("C") select b); Thanks for your help.

  • Magento Set Grid to Filter Automatically by Current Day using Existing Datetime Column in Grid

    In Magento I'm creating a custom module and would love to be able to filter automatically by the datetime column so that the intial grid listing shows only entities related to "todays" date. Here is my datetime column: $this->addColumn('ts', array( 'header' => $hlp->__('Activated'), 'align' => 'left', 'index' => 'ts', 'type' => 'datetime', 'width' => '160px', )); I'm think there should be a way for me to just add a filter to the collection like so: $now = Mage::getModel('core/date')->timestamp(time()); $dateTime = date('m/d/y h:i:s', $now); $collection = Mage::getModel('mymodule/items')->getCollection() ->addFieldToFilter('ts', $dateTime); But this doesn't work? Am I using the wrong filter? My "ts" field in the database is a "datetime" field, but the default magento "From: " - "To:" date range selectors don't use hours, minutes, seconds. Any ideas?   • EF Code First Detached Entity not updating object reference

    I'm posting the exact entity: public class Person : ContactableEntity { public Plan Plan { get; set; } public int Record { get; set; } public int PersonTypeValue { get; set; } } I'm using the following code to update in a disconected context fashion: public void Update(DbSet MySet, object Obj) { MySet.Attach(Obj); var Entry = this.Entry(Obj); Entry.State = EntityState.Modified; this.SaveChanges(); } This is a method exposed by my dbContext Called this way: PersistentManager.Update(PersistentManager.Personas,UpdatedPersona); The problem is, EF will update any property but the referenced Plan object. Can someone tell me where is the mistake? In advance : the entity reaches the point of update with all the properties correctly set. EF just fails to update the FK in the Database (no exception though)

  • GUI-Library for microcontroller

    I want to create a GUI driven application for a micro-controller (Atmel XMEGA) that is connected to a 128x64 dots graphics LCD (EA DOGL128-6) and 4 buttons for navigation. Controlling the display itself (e.g. drawing pixels and characters) is no problem but in order to prevent me from reinventing the wheel I was googling for a GUI-Library/-Toolkit that is written in c, includes its source code, will run on a 32 MHz 8-bit micro-controller and provides at least the following controls: panel (to group elements) menu (scrollable) icon label button line-graph (optional) But I didn't find any thing useful. Does anyone know (or better uses) such a library(preferably for free)?

  • magento, making a grouped product show on sale based on product children prices

    Hi, Question regarding Magento and sale items. So I have to use grouped items to link multiple items which are the same style but different colors, these are the items I have showing on my search results/category pages. - I am trying to figure out how I can make the master sku, show as on sale, when the children items are marked on sale. I am able to make it show up on the product page, but anytime I have tried calling any of the getchildren methods outside of grouped.phtml, I have failed, horribly. I think I worked on that method for probably 36 hours unsuccessfully calling it from any other page. So, I thought I would ask here. Does anyone know how I could call the getchildskus or whatever it is method, from the category page, so that I can do something like, for each child product, compare sale price with active price, if there is a difference, calculate the percentage off, and display the largest difference as "ON SALE, UP TO 30% OFF!", or whatever it may be? Any help would be much appreciated. (oh, and I cant set a price on the main group sku, I sell sunglasses and watches mainly and many times a different color will differ in price quite significantly.)

    Hi everybody, I'm working on a simple application that draws an alpha-blended picture on the screen's Device Context every 2 secs, I want to refresh the screen contents before the drawing operation (To erase the drawn pic), I have used many many trick but unfortunately, the screen won't refresh correctly, some regions still keep portions of the drawn pic I'm really frustrated from this issue :( These are the sources codes I have used, I'm using C# SendMessage(HWND_BROADCAST, WM_SYSCOLORCHANGE, IntPtr.Zero, IntPtr.Zero); // wasted time in the refreshing process is enough to keep this. UpdateWindow(HWND_BROADCAST);// does not work at all! InvalidateRect(IntPtr.Zero,IntPtr.Zero,true); // the same goes here. SendMessage(HWND_BROADCAST, WM_PAINT, IntPtr.Zero, IntPtr.Zero); // pfffff ! SendMessage(HWND_BROADCAST, WM_SETTINGCHANGE, new IntPtr(SPI_SETNONCLIENTMETRICS), IntPtr.Zero); // trying to refresh the explorer, no resutl I used also EnumWindows and call back , very slow and does not fit my case.
