• ComboBox's Selected Value Changed On Lost Focus in VB.NET

  I have a datagridview(dgv) with a DataGridViewComboBoxColumn(colLocation) colLocation.AutoComplete = False colLocation.HeaderText = "Stored to" colLocation.DataSource = DB.getLocation() colLocation.DisplayMember = "description" colLocation.ValueMember = "id" I added the colLocation to dgv. "descirption" contains Unicode characters. I can see the comboBox correctly and choose the item. The problem is when the comboBox lost the focus, the value is changed to first item of the comboBox. Any suggestion? Updated: I found out that the ComboBox doesn't change the data when the DisplayMember is in English characters. It changes only when the DisplayMember is in Unicode chracter.   I'm trying to setup a User - UserProfile relationship, display the form and save the data. When submitted, the data is saved, except the password field doesn't get hashed. Additionally, how can I remove the help_text from the username and password (inherited from the User model)? Full code is below, excuse me if it's too long.   Hi all: I have a php script that updates a database via an api. This script works on one server but not on another. Both servers have curl enabled and they have php 5.2.6 or above. The error happens in the do_put() method. The rest of the script seems to be fine.   PHPThumb provides two great variables setting the output maximum width and height BUT "This is always overridden by ?w=_ GETstring parameter" $PHPTHUMB_CONFIG['output_maxwidth'] = 720; $PHPTHUMB_CONFIG['output_maxheight'] = 720; You can also set defaults, and for landscape/portrait: $PHPTHUMB_DEFAULTS['w'] = 720; $PHPTHUMB_DEFAULTS['h'] = 720; $PHPTHUMB_DEFAULTS['hp'] = 720; $PHPTHUMB_DEFAULTS['wl'] = 720; You can set the getsringoverride to enforce the default width/height but then you can't have width/height smaller than the default. $PHPTHUMB_DEFAULTS_GETSTRINGOVERRIDE = false; There doesn't seem to be a way to allow the get paramaters to be used but if entering a value higher than the output_maxwidth/height it outputs that size, not the maximum. How can the output be explicitly restricted to a maximum size, hence protecting the source images?

• ASP.Net Session data lost between pages

  Hi, i came across a weird behavior today w/ my web application. When I navigate from a page to another, I lose one particular session variable data. I'm able to launch the app in firefox and able to see that the session data is not lost. I use Response.Redirect(page2, false) to redirect to another page.   I'm trying to make a simple post request via the requests library of Python and I get a bad request error (400) while my url is supposedly correct since I can use it to perform a get. I'm very new in REST requests, I read many tutorials and documentation but I guess there are still things I don't get so my error could be basic. Maybe a lack of understanding on the type of url I'm supposed to send via POST. • Mouse interaction in ListBoxItem children (WPF)

  I have a ListBox with an ItemTemplate that contains a control that interacts with the mouse. This interfers with the selection functionality of the ListBox, i.e. clicking a control does not select the item. This is because ListBoxItem sets the Handled property of the mouse event to true in OnMouseLeftButtonDown. I tried the following protected override void OnMouseLeftButtonDown(MouseButtonEventArgs e) { base.OnMouseLeftButtonDown(e); e.Handled = false; } but the ListBoxItem “takes over” the mouse and prevents the control from doing its own interaction. Then I had another idea protected override void OnMouseLeftButtonDown(MouseButtonEventArgs e) { base.OnMouseLeftButtonDown(e); ((ListBoxItem)VisualTreeHelper.GetParent(VisualTreeHelper.GetParent(VisualTreeHelper.GetParent(this)))).IsSelected = true; } which actually works, but feels more like an ugly kludge than an elegant solution. Are there any better solutions that don't rely on the exact contents of the visual tree?

• How to hide the vertical scroll bar in a .NET ListView Control in Details mode

  I've got a ListView control in Details mode with a single column. It's on a form that is meant to only be used with the keyboard, mostly with the up/down arrows for scrolling and enter to select. So I don't really need to have the scroll bars and would just like them to not show for a cleaner look. However, when I set the ListView.Scrollable property to false, I can still move the selected item up and down, but as soon as it moves to an item not currently in view, the list won't move to show that item. I've tried using EnsureVisible to programmatically scroll the list, but it does nothing when in this mode. Is there any way to manually move the list up and down to scroll, but without having the scrollbar present?

  Given: Start Month & Start Day End Month & End Day Any Year What SQL statement results in TRUE if a date lands between the Start and End days? 1st example: Start Date = 11-22 End Date = 01-17 Year = 2009 Specific Date = 2010-01-14 TRUE 2nd example: Start Date = 11-22 End Date = 11-16 Year = 2009 Specific Date = 2010-11-20 FALSE 3rd example: Start Date = 02-25 End Date = 03-19 Year = 2004 Specific Date = 2004-02-29 TRUE I was thinking of using the MySQL functions datediff and sign plus a CASE condition to determine whether the year wraps, but it seems rather expensive. Am looking for a simple, efficient calculation. Update The problem is the end date cannot simply use the year. The year must be increased if the end month/day combination happens before the start date. The start date is easy: Start Date = date( concat_ws( '-', year, Start Month, Start Day ) The end date is not so simple. Thank you!

• JsonResult shows up a file download in browser

  I'm trying to use jquery.Ajax to post data to an ASP.NET MVC2 action method that returns a JsonResult. Everything works great except when the response gets back to the browser it is treated as a file download instead of being passed into the success handler.   Been sitting here for hours now trying to figure this out, so a bit sympathy for this large question. :) The Goal: I simply want to divide my done code into MVC (Model View Controller) parts. I have the game logics done and text based - the code works fine. The Problem: Well, I want to implement this code into MVC, but where do explain for the MODEL that it should use text-based? Because the VIEW is only for the layout (graphically) correct? I am having a REALLY hard time figuring out where to begin at all. Any pointers would be so nice! • Basecamp API Rails

  Hi Everyone, I was wondering if someone could do me massive favour.. I really don't understand how to make use of API's - so I was wondering if, using Basecamp as an example, someone could talk me though the basics. So far I have an application with a dashboard controller/view, I have put basecamp.rb into my /lib directory, added the following to my application_controller: def basecamp_connect Basecamp.establish_connection!('XXXXXX.basecamphq.com', 'USER', 'PASS', false) @basecamp = Basecamp.new end Obviously changing the required parts to my credentials. Next up I have added the following to my dashboard_controller: def index Basecamp::TodoList.find(:all) end Next I presume I have to somehow list the Todo's on the dashboard using some sort of loop. Am I doing the right thing, if so - how on earth do I display all the todo items and if not - what am I doing wrong/missing. It doesn't have to be todo's, anything from basecamp or any other popular API service would be a good start. It's just that I happen to have a basecamp account! Thanks, Danny

• Batch scripting for directories or better method

  Hi Everyone, Looking at creating a simple batch file for my app. My app needs some directories to be in place as it runs. The first method I thought was just make a batch script: @ECHO OFF IF NOT EXIST C:\App GOTO :CREATE ELSE GOTO :DONTCREATE :CREATE MKDIR C:\App\Code ECHO DIRECTORY CREATED :DONTCREATE ECHO IT WAS ALREADY THERE 1) This doesn't run as I would expect. Both :CREATE and :DONTCREATE seem to run regardless? How do I do an If properly then? Output: A subdirectory or file C:\App\Code already exists. DIRECTORY CREATED IT WAS ALREADY THERE So it enters both true and false statements? 2) The app is a C# WPF app. For what I am trying to do here (create a couple of directories if they don't already exist) - should I do it some other way? Perhaps in the application as it runs?

• Zend_Form -> Nicely change setRequired() validate message

  Say I create a text element like this: $firstName = new Zend_Form_Element_Text('firstName'); $firstName->setRequired(true); Whats the best way to change the default error message from: Value is empty, but a non-empty value is required to a custom message? I read somewhere that to replace the message, just use addValidator(..., instead (NO setRequired), like this: $firstName = new Zend_Form_Element_Text('firstName'); $firstName->addValidator('NotEmpty', false, array('messages'=>'Cannot be empty')); but in my testing, this doesn't work - it doesn't validate at all - it will pass with an empty text field. Using both (addValidator('NotEmp.. + setRequired(true)) at the same time doesn't work either - it double validates, giving two error messages. Any ideas? Thanks!
