Why does ruby-debug say 'Saved frames may be incomplete'

From time-to-time I get this when a breakpoint is triggered. It looks like stack frames aren't getting saved so I can't step back through the call stack - a real pain. I am confused why in the code below I need to decrement the stack pointer and store the return address again. If I don't do that... then PCSpim keeps on looping.. XAML to HTML Conversion - WPF RichTextBox

I have the problem where i have a WPF RichTextBox, and i'm extracting its XAML code and saving it to a txt file. When i copy paste the XAML code generated to a XAMLtoHTML converter like this http://blogs.msdn.com/wpfsdk/archive/2006/05/25/606317.aspx , some error must be occuring as i'm always getting a blank result! RhinoMocks Testing callback method

Hi All I have a service proxy class that makes asyn call to service operation. I use a callback method to pass results back to my view model. Doing functional testing of view model, I can mock service proxy to ensure methods are called on the proxy, but how can I ensure that callback method is called as well? With RhinoMocks I can test that events are handled and event raise events on the mocked object, but how can I test callbacks? C# Working with Locking and Threads

Work on this small test application to learn threading/locking. I have the following code, I would think that the line should only write to console once. However it doesn't seem to be working as expected. Any thoughts on why? What I'm trying to do is add this Lot object to a List, then if any other threads try and hit that list, it would block. Hi, I am trying to develop a JAX WS web service with WS-Security features in WebLogic 10.3. I have used the ant tasks WSDLC, JWSC and ClientGen to generate skeleton/stub for this web service. I have two keystores namely WSIdentity.jks and WSTrust.jks which contains the keys and certificates. One of the alias of WSIdentity.jks is "ws02p". TDD - testing business rules/validation in ASP.NET MVC

Hi, I am using the sharp architecture so I can easily use mocks etc. in my unit tests and/or during TDD. I have quite complicated business rules and would like to test them at the controller level. I am just wondering how other people do this? For me validation tests business rules at three levels: (1) Property level (e.g. property is required) (2) Intra property level (e.g. start date < end date) (3) Persistence level (e.g. name is unique, parent cannot be child of child) My validation framework also assigns errors to properties. I am just wondering what other people do? Do you write a test for each business rule and check whether the correct error message is assigned to the correct property (i.e. looking at the ASP.MVC ModelState)? I hope my question makes sense. Indy IdSMTP and attachments in Thunderbird

Hello! Using the latest snapshot of Indy tiburon on D2010. A very simple project like: var stream: TFileStream; (s is TidSMTP and m is TidMessage) begin s.Connect; Stream := TFileStream.Create('c:\Test.zip', fmOpenRead or fmShareExclusive); try with TIdAttachmentMemory.Create(m.MessageParts, Stream) do begin ContentType := 'application/x-zip-compressed'; Name := ExtractFilePath('C:\'); //' FileName := 'Test.zip'; end; finally FreeAndNil(Stream); end; s.Send(m); s.Disconnect(); end; Everything works Ok in Outlook, The bat!, OE, yahoo, etc... but in Thunderbird the attachment is not shown. Looking at the source of the message in Thunderbird, the attachment is there. The only difference I can find between messages send by indy and other clients is that Indy messages have this order: Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="Z\=_7oeC98yIhktvxiwiDTVyhv9R9gwkwT1" MIME-Version: 1.0 while any other clients have the order: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="Z\=_7oeC98yIhktvxiwiDTVyhv9R9gwkwT1" Don't know if THAT is the source of the problem, but if so: is this a bug on Thunderbird or is this a problem with indy which "malforms" the headers of the messages? Is this order a problem? Does that matter anyway?

Regression Testing and Deployment Strategy

I'd like some advice on a deployment strategy. If a development team creates an extensive framework, and many (20-30) applications consume it, and the business would like application updates at least every 30 days, what is the best deployment strategy? The reason I ask is that there seems to be a lot of waste (and risk) in using an agile approach of deploying changes monthly, if 90% of the applications don't change. What I mean by this is that the framework can change during the month, and so can a few applications. Because the framework changed, all applications should be regression-tested. If, say, 10 of the applications don't change at all during the year, then those 10 applications are regression-tested EVERY MONTH, when they didn't have any feature changes or hot fixes. They had to be tested simply because the business is rolling updates every month. And the risk that is involved... if a mission-critical application is deployed, that takes a few weeks, and multiple departments, to test, is it realistic to expect to have to constantly regression-test this application? One option is to make any framework updates backward-compatible. While this would mean that applications don't need to change their code, they would still need to be tested because the underlying framework changed. And the risk involved is great; a constantly changing framework (and deploying this framework) means the mission-critical app can never just enjoy the same code base for a long time. These applications share the same database, hence the need for the constant testing. I'm aware of TDD and automated tests, but that doesn't exist at the moment. Any advice?

Converting PDF to images using ImageMagick.NET - how to set the DPI

Hi, I'm trying to convert pdf files to images. ImageMagick is a great tool, and using the command line tool gets me desired result. but i need to do this in my code, So added a reference to http://imagemagick.codeplex.com/ And the following code sample renders each page of the pdf as an image: MagickNet.InitializeMagick(); using (ImageList im = new ImageList()) { im.ReadImages(@"E:\Test\" + fileName + ".pdf"); int count = 0; foreach (Image image in im) { image.Quality = 100; image.CompressType = mageMagickNET.CompressionType.LosslessJPEGCompression; image.Write(@"E:\Test\" + fileName + "-" + count.ToString() + ".jpg"); ++count; } } The problem: IT LOOKS LIKE CRAP the rendered image is hardly readable. the problem i realized is it uses the default 72 DPI of ImageMagick. and i can't find a way to set it(96dpi or 120dpi gives good results) via the .Net wrapper. Am I missing something , or there is really no way to set it via this wrapper? Thanks

Creating a WCF ServiceHost object takes three to four minutes on some PCs

Hello, I have created a WCF service which does not use the app.config to configure itself. However, it takes three to four minutes on some PCs to construct the ServiceHost object. Thinking there was something wrong with my service, I constructed a simple Hello, World service and tried it with that. I have the same issue. According to the profiler, all this time is spent reading in configuration for the service. So I have two questions really. Is it possible to disable reading config from the XML? More importantly, does anyone have any idea why this might be taking such an inordinate amount of time? PHP SoapClient() function returning a single XML string

I am having difficulty with the PHP SoapClient() function. The SOAP request is successful, but the response is returned as an object containing a single XML string with the key "any". For example: <?php $params = array('strUsername' => 'Test', 'strPassword' => 'Test'); $client=new SoapClient('http://www.example.com/webservice.asmx?wsdl', array('features' => SOAP_SINGLE_ELEMENT_ARRAYS)); $result = $client->strExampleCall($params); print_r($result); ?> This outputs the following: stdClass Object ( [strExampleCallResult] => stdClass Object ( [any] => <Response xmlns="" release="1.0.0" environment="Production" lang="en-GB"><ApplicationArea><Sender><SenderId>0</SenderId><ReferenceId>0</ReferenceId></Sender><Destination><DestinationId>1</DestinationId></Destination></ApplicationArea><DataArea><Result>1</Result></DataArea></Response> ) ) Subsequently, I cannot access properties of the object as I'd expect to: echo $result->strExampleCallResult->Response->DataArea->Result; Why isn't PHP parsing the SOAP response into properties of the returned object? I am using PHP 5.3.0 and believe the SOAP server is running .NET. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

iPhone SDK 3.2 Universal App issue with .xib files

Hello! So I am finding this process of universalizing my iPhone app to be a big headache! Am I alone in this? I sure hope not. Anyway, my question is regarding the .xib files for my universal application. I had my iPhone OS 3.1 running app all ready to make the universal switch. I went up to Project/Upgrade Current Target for iPad/Universal Application and it supposedly made my app have all the necessary iPad settings... So when I went to test it in 3.2 SDk, the screen was big, meaning the toolbar was sized correctly for the iPad, but the image that was being displayed was for the OS 3.1, meaning it was way small. So I then went to the iPad Source folder, changed the name of my MainViewController.xib file to MainViewController-iPad.xib, and inserted the bigger image I had prepared for the iPad, and it still didn't work correctly. Then, I went into my MainViewController.m file and changed the nib reference from MainViewController to MainViewController-iPad, and it worked! My only concern is that being that I had to "hard-code" it in, or force it to read from my -iPad file, is that going to present issues for the OS3.1 version? I can't go back and test the 3.1 version now for some reason, the option was removed from the Active SDK menu... If there is anyone out there that has experienced this, or has insight into what I am doing wrong, your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

LookAhead Regex in .Net - unexpected result

Hello, I am a bit puzzled with my Regex results (and still trying to get my head around the syntax). I have been using http://regexpal.com/ to test out my expression, and its works as intended there, however in C# its not as expected. Here is a test - an expression of the following: (?=<open>).*?(?=</open>) on an input string of: <open>Text 1 </open>Text 2 <open>Text 3 </open>Text 4 <open>Text 5 </open> I would expect a result back of <open>Text1 <open>Text 2 <open>Text 3... etc However when I do this in C# it only returns the first match of <open>Text1 How do I get all five 'results' back from the Regex? XSL apply templates not working...could be XPath error

I have converted mny stylesheet to use apply templates instead of call templates and it worked fine for my other styesheet, which was more complicated, but this one doesn't seem to work even thought it is a much simpler template. All that it outputs is the sex node and the userlevel node. I think it has to do with my Xpath. SoundManager2 has irregular latency

I'm playing some notes at regular intervals. Each one is delayed by a random number of milliseconds, creating a jarring irregular effect. How do I fix it? Note: I'm OK with some latency, just as long as it's consistent. Answers of the type "implement your own small SoundManager2 replacement, optimized for timing-sensitive playback" are OK, if you know how to do that :) but I'm trying to avoid rewriting my whole app in flash for now. DB2 with mod_perl not working, works fine in CGI

Hi, I'm having issues with getting DBI's IBM DB2 driver to work with mod_perl. I get this error in apache's error log: DBD::DB2::dr connect warning: [unixODBC][Driver Manager]Data source name not found, and no default driver specified at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/Apache/DBI.pm line 190. DBI connect('SAMPLE','username',...) failed: [unixODBC][Driver Manager]Data source name not found, and no default driver specified at /data/www/perl/test.pl line 15 First of all, why is it using ODBC? The native DB2 driver is installed (hence it works as CGI). Running Apache 2.2.3, mod_perl 2.0.4 under RHEL5. This guy had the same problem as me: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg22909.html But I have no idea how he fixed it. What does mod_php4 have to do with mod_perl? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm having no luck with google.
