  • Dynamic website SEO development

    I made a website which stayed online for 6 months. During that period the search results for the site were not at all good. Even typing the domain name yielded just two or three category result. Now, I have taken the site down for total redevelopment and redesign. The aim of this question is to know the basics for SEO to be done while redesigning the site. My site will be in ASP.NET MVC 3 and will have main categories, sub categories and sub-sub if any. Then there will be products in those categories. All the data will come from MSSQL DB. Please tell me just the basics required for a dynamic website during development. I want to ensure that google and other engines index all the pages of my site including products or whatever.

  • Hosting a website from a dynamic IP

    I recently upgraded my internet to the point that it is much faster and more reliable than my current webhost. I would like to move my current domain to be hosted at home, but my IP address is dynamic. As far as I know, I only get a new IP when I restart my modem and or router (which is almost never) or when cable one (my ISP) pushes out a firmware update (rarely). There are a few ways I can see doing this 1) convince my ISP to give me a static IP 2) assign my router my current IP to force a static IP (which might work?) 3) set my dns record to my current IP address and update it on the rare occasions that it changes. Obviously I'm hoping that the first one works, but I don't want to pay a lot of extra money (if that's what it takes) to get a static IP address. Has anyone had any luck with something like that?

  • Selecting Dynamic ID JQuery [migrated]

    I need to select dynamic id using JQuery, and once I select it then I need to do some action on it. This is the HTML that I have: <input id="content_photos_attributes_1355755712119_image" name="content[photos_attributes][1355755712119][image]" size="30" type="file"> Please note the id value, text is always the same however the number changes (I do not have control over that change). What I need to do is to create on click for that element. This is what I got so far, and it is not working. <script type="text/javascript"> jQuery.noConflict(); jQuery("input[id *= 'content_photos_attributes_']").click(function() { alert("Image deletion is clicked"); }); </script> It really makes no difference whether I select that element by ID or by its name.

    What is the best way to allow for dynamic fields/database columns? For example, let's say we have a payroll system that allows a user to create unique salary structures for each employee. How could/should one handle this scenario? I thought of using a "salary" table that hold the salary component fields and joining these columns to a "salary_values" table that hold the actual values. Does this make sense? Example Salary Structures: Notice how the components of the salary can be shared or unique. -- Jon's Salary -- Basic 100 Annual Bonus 25 Tel.     I wondered if there is a programming language which compiles to machine code/binary (not bytecode then executed by a VM, that's something completely different when considering typing) that features dynamic and/or weak typing, e.g: Think of a compiled language where: Variables don't need to be declared Variables can be created doing runtime Functions can return values of different types Questions: Is there such a programming language? (Why) not? I think that a dynamically yet strong typed, compiled language would really sense, but is it possible?

  • Don't display dynamic query in result

    Hi all, Is it possible to hide a dynamic query from the result sets provided from a Stored Procedure? I am using the @@rowcount of the dynamic query to set a variable that is used to determine whether another query runs or not. The other query is used by code that I cannot change - hence why I am changing the Stored Procedure. The dynamic query returns as the first result set from the Stored Procedure is now the result of the dynamic query which currently is "breaking" the calling code. Thanks in advance

I am saying this because when I talked with my teacher, he said that major sites use many languages combined. And he said that a site shouldn't be designed only in PHP. So is it possible to create a good website, not e-commerce, with only html,css, and php?

Now, whenever I open a List or Details view of one of these entities, the cell phone number displays for a moment then disappears. Anyone have any ideas as to the cause of this mysterious behavior?

The concept is this: You have a table in a database and the table has a specified number of columns. However, it has been asked of me by previous clients that there also be a set of dynamic user defined columns that can be added on the fly.   • Exporting Reports from SSRS Report Manager

    I have several SSRS reports which have a textbox at the bottom with a link to a privacy notice page. Some of my users will export these reports to an Excel workbook or a Word document. When the users export the reports, the reporting engine does not include the link in the office documents. When exported as as PDF or HTML, the link to the notice is also exported as expected. Is there a way for me to configure or force the office documents to include the link to the notice and ensure that it is also exported?
