  • showing errors from actions in table-based views

"Disable" : "Enable" %>" /> <% } %> </td> <!-- more tds with similar action forms here, a few per table row --> </tr> <% } %> In my ThingController, I have functions similar to the following: public ActionResult Manage() { return View(ThingService.GetThings()); } [HttpPost] public ActionResult SetEnabled(string x, bool enable) { try { ThingService.SetEnabled(x, enable); } catch (Exception ex) { ModelState.AddModelError("", ex.Message); // I know this is wrong... } return RedirectToAction("Manage"); } In the most part, this is working fine. The problem is that if ThingService.SetEnabled throws an error, I want to be able to display the error at the top of the table. I've tried a few things with Html.ValidationSummary() in the page but I can't get it to work. Note that I don't want to send the user to a separate page to do this, and I'm trying to do it without using any javascript. Am I going about displaying my table in the best way? How do I get the errors displayed in the way I want them to? I will end up with perhaps 40 small forms on the page. This approach comes largely from this article, but it doesn't handle the errors in the way I need to. Any takers?

You can make the factory to retry connecting a certain number of times but... is it possible to make some actions each time that a reconnection retrial is neccesary?     i'm trying to get the c++ client for mongodb working in visual studio 2008. i can reference the includes, but whenever i tell the linker about the mongodb .lib file i get the following error: "fatal error LNK1257: code generation failed". if visual studio can't find the .lib, then i get a bunch of unresolved externals errors. i'm really pretty lost at this point.

But on top of my php code file I have error_reporting(E_ALL); ini_set('display_errors', '1'); But still, if there is an error, e.g. missing a ")", the page is blank. It is so painful to debug without error message. Why were the errors not shown?

    Magento Production version 1.2.1 store running on linux centos. I want to hide all error messages generating from Magento, or if error occurred then I want user to send to custom error page. I tried some solutions like putting Mage::setIsDeveloperMode(true); in index.php but it is not working properly, I even tried to set ini_set('display_errors', 0); but it is still not working. Magento still giving errors like "undefined index"

So on the compile phase I'm getting org.apache.maven.plugin.MojoExecutionException: Error compiling! with no information on where (on what source file) the error happens and what is nature of the compile error.     i'm often getting multiple errors showing up for an individual property, when I'd like them to be prioritized, as in, if Required is satisfied, check StringLength, but if Required fails, show that message only.
