  • WP7/silverlight Images does not stay within a grid/stackpanel when using the toolkit to provide gesture support

    I have few buttons and below that I am displaying an image and have used the WP7/Silverlight toolkit to provide support for Gestures. Everything works fine, until i do gestures like pinch and then moving it up/down. Both these gestures work fine but they do not seem to respect the stackpanel/grid the image is present in and they go over that and on top of the buttons. Do u know how to restrict these?     Hi there, I have two PHP arrays like so: Array of X records containing the ID of Wordpress posts (in a particular order) Array of Wordpress posts The two arrays look something like this: Array One (Sorted Custom Array of Wordpress Post IDs) Array ( [0] => 54 [1] => 10 [2] => 4 ) Array Two (Wordpress Post Array) Array ( [0] => stdClass Object ( [ID] => 4 [post_author] => 1 ) [1] => stdClass Object ( [ID] => 54 [post_author] => 1 ) [2] => stdClass Object ( [ID] => 10 [post_author] => 1 ) ) I would like to sort the array of wordpress posts with the order of the ID's in the first array. This function is called whenever JavaScript tries to execute an undefined method of an Object. I would like to set a callback function to an Object that will be called whenever an undefined property in the Object is accessed or assigned to. I haven't found a noSuchProperty function implemented for JavaScript Objects and I am curios if there is any workaround that will achieve the same result. Consider the following code: var a = {}; a.__defineGetter__("bla", function(){alert(1);return 2;}); alert(a.bla); It is equivalent to [alert(1);alert(2)] - even though a.bla is undefined. I would like to achieve the same result but to unknown properties (i.e. without knowing in advance that a."bla" will be the property accessed)

  • What is the best way to maintain an entity's original properties when they are not included in MVC binding from edit page?

    I have an ASP.NET MVC view for editing a model object. The edit page includes most of the properties of my object but not all of them -- specifically it does not include CreatedOn and CreatedBy fields since those are set upon creation (in my service layer) and shouldn't change in the future. Unless I include these properties as hidden fields they will not be picked up during Binding and are unavailable when I save the modified object in my EF 4 DB Context. In actuality, upon save the original values would be overwritten by nulls (or some type-specific default). I don't want to drop these in as hidden fields because it is a waste of bytes and I don't want those values exposed to potential manipulation. Is there a "first class" way to handle this situation? Is it possible to specify a EF Model property is to be ignored unless explicitly set?

    I have this swf (flash) file that provides the json that needs to be sent to the server. I wrote a very simple jQuery: function submitForm(swf_json) { $('#swfjson').val(swf_json); #swfjson is an input of type hidden $('#titleForm').submit(); } and the swf will call the submitForm above and I receive the request.POST in django as usual. But, django is interpreting the swf_json as a string "Object object" >>>type(request.POST['swfjson']) <type 'unicode'> Of course I can pass the json as a string to the view function. Doesn't seem good to me. Any other way of passing the json object to the django view?

    I have the following ColdFusion 9 code: <cfloop from="1" to="#arrayLen(tagArray)#" index="i"> <cfquery name="qryGetSPFAQs" datasource="#application.datasource#"> EXEC searchFAQ '#tagArray[i]#' </cfquery> </cfloop> The EXEC executes a stored procedure on the database server, which returns rows of data, depending on what the parameter is. What I am trying to do is combine the queries into one query object. In other words, if it loops 3 times and each loop returns 4 rows, I want a query object that has all 12 rows in one object. How do I acheive this?

  • Django design question: extending User to make users that can't log in

    The site I'm working on involves teachers creating student objects. The teacher can choose to make it possible for a student to log into the site (to check calendars, etc) OR the teacher can choose to use the student object only for record keeping and not allow the student to log in. In the student creation form, if the teacher supplies a username and a password, it should create an object of the first kind - one that can log in, i.e. a regular User object. If the teacher does not supply a username/password, it should create the second type. The other requirement is that the teacher should be able to go in later and change a non-logging-in student to the other kind. What's the best way to design for this scenario? Subclass User and make username and password not required? What else would this affect?

  • c#: sms appears to have been sent, but stuck in phone outbox

  • Stopping looping thread in Java

    I'm using a thread that is continuously reading from a queue. Something like: public void run() { Object obj; while(true) { synchronized(objectsQueue) { if(objectesQueue.isEmpty()) { try { objectesQueue.wait(); } catch (InterruptedException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } obj = objectesQueue.poll(); } } // Do something with the Object obj } } What is the best way to stop this thread? I see two options: 1 - Since Thread.stop() is deprecated, I can implement a stopThisThread() method that uses a n atomic check-condition variable. 2 - Send a Death Event object or something like that to the queue. When the thread fetches a death event it exists. I prefer the 1st way, however, I don't know when to call the stopThisThread() method, as something might be on it's way to the queue and the stop signal can arrive first (not desirable). Any suggestions?

    Is there anyway to change the coordinates of some of the points within a GraphicsPath object while leaving the other points where they are? The GraphicsPath object that gets passed into my method will contain a mixture of polygons and lines. My method would want to look something like: void UpdateGraphicsPath(GraphicsPath gPath, RectangleF regionToBeChanged, PointF delta) { // Find the points in gPath that are inside regionToBeChanged // and move them by delta. // gPath.PathPoints[i].X += delta.X; // Compiles but doesn't work } GraphicsPath.PathPoints seems to be readonly, so does GraphicsPath.PathData.Points. So I am wondering if this is even possible. Perhaps generating a new GraphicsPath object with an updated set of points? How can I know if a point is part of a line or a polygon? If anyone has any suggestions then I would be grateful.

I have one file needsOptimization.cpp where I would like to override the -O1 with -O2 instead.     My application has to do the following: - if the user enters a query that matches exactly an object in my database, a Activity that shows this object should appear; - if the query doesn't match an exact object, a ArrayList with related objects will be returned and an Activity will display this list. So, as I'm using a SearchView on my ActionBar, I want to know how to open the right Activity based on the result of the query, something like this: if(objectFound) openActivityThatShowsThisObject(); else openActivityWithRelatedResults(); I saw in other question that I could use a facade Activity, but I don't know if that is a good approach.     hi there, I bumped into a case where I need a big (=huge) python dictionary, which turned to be quite memory-consuming. However, since all of the values are of a single type (long) - as well as the keys, I figured I can use python (or numpy, doesn't really matter) array for the values ; and wrap the needed interface (in: x ; out: d[x]) with an object which actually uses these arrays for the keys and values storage. I can use a index-conversion object (input -- index, of 1..n, where n is the different-values counter), and return array[index]. I can elaborate on some techniques of how to implement such an indexing-methods with reasonable memory requirement, it works and even pretty good. However, I wonder if there is such a data-structure-object already exists (in python, or wrapped to python from C/++), in any package (I checked collections, and some Google searches). Any comment will be welcome, thanks.

    Hi. I have a TCP Server application that serves each client in a new thread using POSIX Threads and C++. The server calls "listen" on its socket and when a client connects, it makes a new object of class Client. The new object runs in its own thread and processes the client's requests. When a client disconnects, i want some way to tell my main() thread that this thread is done, and main() can delete this object and log something like "Client disconnected". My question is, how do i tell to the main thread, that a thread is done ?

    I've got a simple class that gets most of its arguments via init, which also runs a variety of private methods that do most of the work. Output is available either through access to object variables or public methods. Here's the problem - I'd like my unittest framework to directly call the private methods called by init with different data - without going through init. What's the best way to do this? So far, I've been refactoring these classes so that init does less and data is passed in separately. This makes testing easy, but I think the usability of the class suffers a little.     Hi, I'd like to write a method that can accept a type param (or whatever the method can figure out the type from) and return a value of this type so I don't have to cast the return type. Here is a method: public Object doIt(Object param){ if(param instanceof String){ return "string"; }else if(param instanceof Integer){ return 1; }else{ return null; } } When I call this method, and pass in it a String, even if I know the return type will be a String I have to cast the return Object. This is similar to the int param. How shall I write this method to accept a type param, and return this type?

    This is my first attempt to write shorthand if statements however am befuddled by why the expanded versions don't work quite the way I imagined they would. Code 1 - Does not work if(document.getElementById == true) { alert("The document object model is supported by: " + navigator.appName); } Code 2 - Does work if(document.getElementById != false) { alert("The document object model is supported by: " + navigator.appName); } Code 3 - The shorthand that does work if(document.getElementById) { alert("The document object model is supported by: " + navigator.appName); } Why is that if I expand the shorthand in 3 to the first code sample not work and why does it work if I have it equal to != false?
