  • Saving owned/child objects in Hibernate

    - by maxdj
    I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the way hibernate objects work. Here's a little chunk of what my model looks like: JobOpening: @ManyToMany(fetch=FetchType.EAGER,cascade=CascadeType.ALL) @JoinTable( name="jobOpening_questionSet", joinColumns=@JoinColumn(name="jobOpenings_id"), inverseJoinColumns=@JoinColumn(name="questionSets_id") ) @IndexColumn(name="question_sets_idx",base=0,nullable=false) public List<QuestionSet> getQuestionSets() { return questionSets; } QuestionSet: @ManyToMany(mappedBy="questionSets",fetch=FetchType.EAGER) public Set<JobOpening> getJobOpenings() { return jobOpenings; } @OneToMany(cascade=CascadeType.ALL,fetch=FetchType.EAGER) @IndexColumn(name="questions_idx",base=0) @JoinColumn(name="questionset_id",nullable=false) public List<FormQuestion> getQuestions() { return questions; } FormQuestion: @ManyToOne @JoinColumn(name="questionset_id", insertable=false, updatable=false, nullable=false) @OnDelete(action=OnDeleteAction.CASCADE) public QuestionSet getQuestionSet() { return questionSet; } Now how would I go about, say, modifying a question in the question set, or changing which jobs a questionset is associated with? For example, to edit a question in a questionset, I imagine I should be able to just get the question via its id, change some values, and merge() it back in, but this doesn't work. I'm using Hibernate from Spring (appfuse), usually as detached objects.

  • Prevent TEXTAREAs scroll by themselves on IE8

    - by Justin Grant
    IE8 has a known bug (per connect.microsoft.com) where typing or pasting text into a TEXTAREA element will cause the textarea to scroll by itself. This is hugely annoying and shows up in many community sites, including Wikipedia. The repro is this: open the HTML below with IE8 (or use any long page on wikipedia which will exhibit the same problem until they fix it) size the browser full-screen paste a few pages of text into the TEXTAREA move the scrollbar to the middle position now type one character into the textarea Expected: nothing happens Actual: scrossing happens on its own, and the insertion point ends up near the bottom of the textarea! Below is repro HTML (can also see this live on the web here: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Text_box&action=edit) <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" > <body> <div style="width: 80%"> <textarea rows="20" cols="80" style="width:100%;" ></textarea> </div> </body> </html>

  • Rails3 renders a js.erb template with a text/html content-type instead of text/javascript

    - by Yannis
    Hi, I'm building a new app with 3.0.0.beta3. I simply try to render a js.erb template to an Ajax request for the following action (in publications_controller.rb): def get_pubmed_data entry = Bio::PubMed.query(params[:pmid])# searches PubMed and get entry @publication = Bio::MEDLINE.new(entry) # creates Bio::MEDLINE object from entry text flash[:warning] = "No publication found."if @publication.title.blank? and @publication.authors.blank? and @publication.journal.blank? respond_to do |format| format.js end end Currently, my get_pubmed_data.js.erb template is simply alert('<%= @publication.title %>') The server is responding with the following alert('Evidence for a herpes simplex virus-specific factor controlling the transcription of deoxypyrimidine kinase.') which is perfectly fine except that nothing happen in the browser, probably because the content-type of the response is 'text/html' instead of 'text/javascript' as shown by the response header partially reproduced here: Status 200 Keep-Alive timeout=5, max=100 Connection Keep-Alive Transfer-Encoding chunked Content-Type text/html; charset=utf-8 Is this a bug or am I missing something? Thanks for your help!

  • Need help to make link active with change background-position onClick

    - by Erik
    I can't figure out how to make my image links change background-position onClick on ACTIVE. Nothing works: .active { background-position-y: -96px 0px; } <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { //Default Action $(".tab_content").hide(); //Hide all content $("ul.tabs li:first").addClass("active").show(); //Activate first tab $(".tab_content:first").show(); //Show first tab content //On Click Event $("ul.tabs li").click(function() { $("ul.tabs li").removeClass("active"); $(this).addClass("active"); $(".tab_content").hide(); var activeTab = $(this).find("a").attr("href"); $(activeTab).fadeIn(); return false; }); }); </script> <ul class="tabs"> <li><a class="a1" href="#tab1"></a></li> <li><a class="a22" href="#tab22"></a></li> <li><a class="a23" href="#tab23"></a></li> <li><a class="a24" href="#tab24"></a></li> <li><a class="a25" href="#tab25"></a></li> <li><a class="a26" href="#tab26"></a></li> </ul>

  • How can I force a jQuery faded-in user control to remain after click events?

    - by David
    I have a basic page to which I'm adding an uploader control based on Bulk Uploader at c-sharpcorner.com and the control is in a jQuery-faded div based on yesdegisn The Bulk Uploader has two server side event handlers for two buttons--Add and Remove. After clicking these buttons, the fade disappears and you're back to the basic page--if the user needs to add more files, this is not desirable. The ArrayList of files added to a ListBox is maintained, but I have to click the "fade-in" link (LinkButton id="lnkDocumentUpload") to display this window again. I also need the control to POST to UploadPost.aspx, and it doesn't work either. Clicking the upload button(<asp:Button ID="btnUpload" runat="server" />) has the same behavior described above--fade disappears, data is retained, and no POST. I've surrounded the control with <form id="frmUpload" action="~/UploadPost.aspx"> ... <asp:Button ID="btnUpload" runat="server" Text="Upload"/> </form> A LinkButton activates the fade in jQuery via $("#lnkDocumentUpload").click(function() { centerPopup(); loadPopup(); });

  • How to bind an ADF Table on button click

    - by Juan Manuel Formoso
    Coming from ASP.NET I'm having a hard time with basic ADF concepts. I need to bind a table on a button click, and for some reason I don't understand (I'm leaning towards page life cycle, which I guess is different from ASP.NET) it's not working. This is my ADF code: <af:commandButton text="#{viewcontrollerBundle.CMD_SEARCH}" id="cmdSearch" action="#{backingBeanScope.indexBean.cmdSearch_click}" partialSubmit="true"/> <af:table var="row" rowBandingInterval="0" id="t1" value="#{backingBeanScope.indexBean.transactionList}" partialTriggers="::cmdSearch" binding="#{backingBeanScope.indexBean.table}"> <af:column sortable="false" headerText="idTransaction" id="c2"> <af:outputText value="#{row.idTransaction}" id="ot4"/> </af:column> <af:column sortable="false" headerText="referenceCode" id="c5"> <af:outputText value="#{row.referenceCode}" id="ot7"/> </af:column> </af:table> This is cmdSearch_click: public String cmdSearch_click() { List l = new ArrayList(); Transaction t = new Transaction(); t.setIdTransaction(BigDecimal.valueOf(1)); t.setReferenceCode("AAA"); l.add(t); t = new Transaction(); t.setIdTransaction(BigDecimal.valueOf(2)); t.setReferenceCode("BBB"); l.add(t); setTransactionList(l); // AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(table); return null; } The commented line also doesn't work. If I populate the list on my Bean's constructor, the table renders ok. Any ideas?

  • Visual Studio identical token highlighting

    - by dsteinweg
    I coded a Mancala game in Java for a college class this past spring, and I used the Eclipse IDE to write it. One of the great (and fairly simple) visual aids in Eclipse is if you select a particular token, say a declared variable, then the IDE will automatically highlight all other references to that token on your screen. Notepad++, my preferred Notepad replacement, also does this. Another neat and similar feature in Eclipse was the vertical "error bar" to the right of your code (not sure what to call it). It display little red boxes for all of the syntax errors in your document, yellow boxes for warnings like "variable declared but not used", and if you select a word, boxes appear in the bar for each occurance of the word in the document. A screenshot of these features in action: After a half hour of searching, I've determined that Visual Studio cannot do this on its own, so my question is: does anyone know of any add-ins for 2005 or 2008 that can provide either one of the aforementioned features? Being able to highlight the current line your cursor is on would be nice too. I believe the add-in ReSharper can do this, but I'd prefer to use a free add-in rather than purchase one.

  • UINaviagtionBar not displaying?

    - by Rajendra Bhole
    Hi, I developing an application in which initially choose UINavigationController based application. • MVC: Submit one form from a page with multiple forms

    - by Rob
    I'm working in an ASP.NET 3.5 MVC application where i've got a view with multiple forms in it. Form 1 contains information about products and will form a shoppingcart with a remove button. Form 2 is as below and is to be used to get the information from the shoppingcart and create an order of it. <% using (Html.BeginForm()) { %> <%=Html.Hidden(Order.ProductId", "E63EF586-F625-4C8D-B82E-E63A6FA4A63C")%> <%=Html.Hidden(Order.Amount", 1)%> <input type="submit" value="Pay" /> <%} % The first form contains a similar beginform with a foreach loop to get the information about the products from the model. When i use the submit button on the second form everything seems to be submitted and the action in the controller for the first form is trying to handle the request. That is where the error occurce because the information in the viewmodel isn't corresponding to what is being expected. The controller which is trying to handle the request: [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult ShowShoppingcartForm([Bind(Prefix = "Order")] MyViewmodel viewModel) { //.. } The controller which is expected to handle the request: [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult SaveOrder([Bind(Prefix = "Order")] MyViewmodel viewModel) { throw new NotImplementedException(); }

  • Why doesn't IB see my IBAction?

    - by Dan Ray
    I've been staring at this for way too long. There's nothing fancy happening here, and I've done this dozens of times, yet Interface Builder steadfastly refuses to provide me an action target for -(IBAction)slideDirections. I'm at the point where I'm willing to post publicly and feel stupid. So let 'er rip. Here's my .h: #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import <MapKit/MapKit.h> @interface PulseDetailController : UIViewController { NSDictionary *pulse; IBOutlet MKMapView *map; IBOutlet UIWebView *directions; IBOutlet UIView *directionsSlider; BOOL directionsExtended; IBOutlet UILabel *vendor; IBOutlet UILabel *offer; IBOutlet UILabel *offerText; IBOutlet UILabel *hours; IBOutlet UILabel *minutes; IBOutlet UILabel *seconds; IBOutlet UILabel *distance } @property (nonatomic, retain) NSDictionary *pulse; @property (nonatomic, retain) MKMapView *map; @property (nonatomic, retain) UIWebView *directions; @property (nonatomic, retain) UIView *directionsSlider; @property (nonatomic) BOOL directionsExtended; @property (nonatomic, retain) UILabel *vendor; @property (nonatomic, retain) UILabel *offer; @property (nonatomic, retain) UILabel *offerText; @property (nonatomic, retain) UILabel *hours; @property (nonatomic, retain) UILabel *minutes; @property (nonatomic, retain) UILabel *seconds; @property (nonatomic, retain) UILabel *distance; -(IBAction)slideDirections; @end

  • Help a Beginner with a PHP based Login System

    - by Brian Lang
    I'm a bit embarrassed to say, but I've run into issue with creating a PHP based login system. I'm using a site template to handle the looks of the the login process, so I will spare you the code. Here is my thought process on how to handle the login: Create a simple login.php file. On there will be a form whose action is set to itself. It will check to see if the submit has been clicked, and if so validate to make sure the user entered a valid password / username. If they do, set a session variable save some login info (username, NOT password), and redirect them to a restricted area. If the login info isn't valid, save an error message in a session variable, display error message giving further instruction, and wait for the user to resubmit. Here is a chunk of what I have - hopefully one of you experts can see where I've gone wrong, and give me some insight: if(isset($_POST['submit'])) { if(!empty($_POST['username']) AND !empty(!$_POST['password'])) { header("Location: http://www.google.com"); } else { $err = 'All the fields must be filled in!'; } } if($err) { $_SESSION['msg']['login-err'] = $err; } ? Now the above is just an example - the intent of the above code is to process user input, with the script validating simply that the user has given input for username and password. If they have, I would like them, in this case, to be redirected to google.com (for the sake of this example). If not, save an error message. Given my current code, the error message will display perfectly, however if the user submits and has something entered for the username and password, the page simply doesn't redirect. I'm sure this is a silly question, but I am a beginner, and well, to be honest, a bit buzzed right now. Thanks so much!

  • Cast object to interface when created via reflection

    - by Al
    I'm trying some stuff out in Android and I'm stuck at when trying to cast a class in another .apk to my interface. I have the interface and various classes in other .apks that implement that interface. I find the other classes using PackageManager's query methods and use Application#createPackageContext() to get the classloader for that context. I then load the class, create a new instance and try to cast it to my interface, which I know it definitely implements. When I try to cast, it throws a class cast exception. I tried various things like loading the interface first, using Class#asSubclass, etc, none of which work. Class#getInterfaces() shows the interface is implemented. My code is below: PackageManager pm = getPackageManager(); List<ResolveInfo> lr = pm.queryIntentServices(new Intent("com.example.some.action"), 0); ArrayList<MyInterface> list = new ArrayList<MyInterface>(); for (ResolveInfo r : lr) { try { Context c = getApplication().createPackageContext(r.serviceInfo.packageName, Context.CONTEXT_IGNORE_SECURITY | Context.CONTEXT_INCLUDE_CODE); ClassLoader cl = c.getClassLoader(); String className = r.serviceInfo.name; if (className != null) { try { Class<?> cls = cl.loadClass(className); Object o = cls.newInstance(); if (o instanceof MyInterface) { //fails list.add((MyInterface) o); } } catch (ClassNotFoundException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); } // some exceptions removed for readability } } catch (NameNotFoundException e1) { e1.printStackTrace(); }

  • Display pdf file inline in Rails app

    - by Martas
    Hi, I have a pdf file attachment saved in the cloud. The file is attached using attachment_fu. All I do to display it in the view is: <%= image_tag @model.pdf_attachment.public_filename %> When I load the page with this code in the browser, it does what I want: it displays the attached pdf file. But only on Mac. On Windows, browsers will display a broken image placeholder. Chrome's Developer Tools report: "Resource interpreted as image but transferred with MIME type application/pdf." I also tried sending the file from controller: in PdfAttachmentController: def send_pdf_attachment pdf_attachment = PdfAttachment.find params[:id] send_file pdf_attachment.public_filename, :type => pdf_attachment.content_type, :file_name => pdf_attachment.filename, :disposition => 'inline' end in routes.rb: map.send_pdf_attachment '/pdf_attachments/send_pdf_attachment/:id', :controller => 'pdf_attachments', :action => 'send_pdf_attachment' and in the view: <%= send_pdf_attachment_path @model.pdf_attachment %> or <%= image_tag( send_pdf_attachment_path @model.pdf_attachment ) %> And that doesn't display the file on Mac (I didn't try on Windows), it displays the path: pdf_attachments/send_pdf_attachment/35 So, my question is: what do I do to properly display a pdf file inline? Thanks martin

  • Javascript algorithm to find elements in array that are not in another array

    - by Tauren
    I'm looking for a good algorithm to get all the elements in one array that are not elements in another array. So given these arrays: var x = ["a","b","c","t"]; var ?????????y = [???????"d","a","t","e","g"]; I want to end up with this array: var z = ["d","e","g"]; I'm using jquery, so I can take advantage of $.each() and $.inArray(). Here's the solution I've come up with, but it seems like there should be a better way. // goal is to get rid of values in y if they exist in x var x = ["a","b","c","t"]; var y = ["d","a","t","e","g"]; var z = []; $.each(y, function(idx, value){ if ($.inArray(value,x) == -1) { z.push(value); } }); ?alert(z); // should be ["d","e","g"] Here is the code in action. Any ideas?

  • Rails nested models and data separation by scope

    - by jobrahms
    I have Teacher, Student, and Parent models that all belong to User. This is so that a Teacher can create Students and Parents that can or cannot log into the app depending on the teacher's preference. Student and Parent both accept nested attributes for User so a Student and User object can be created in the same form. All four models also belong to Studio so I can do data separation by scope. The current studio is set in application_controller.rb by looking up the current subdomain. In my students controller (all of my controllers, actually) I'm using @studio.students.new instead of Student.new, etc, to scope the new student to the correct studio, and therefore the correct subdomain. However, the nested User does not pick up the studio from its parent - it gets set to nil. I was thinking that I could do something like params[:student][:user_attributes][:studio_id] = @student.studio.id in the controller, but that would require doing attr_accessible :studio_id in User, which would be bad. How can I make sure that the nested User picks up the same scope that the Student model gets when it's created? student.rb class Student < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :studio belongs_to :user, :dependent => :destroy attr_accessible :user_attributes accepts_nested_attributes_for :user, :reject_if => :all_blank end students_controller.rb def create @student = @studio.students.new @student.attributes = params[:student] if @student.save redirect_to @student, :notice => "Successfully created student." else render :action => 'new' end end user.rb class User < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :studio accepts_nested_attributes_for :studio attr_accessible :email, :password, :password_confirmation, :remember_me, :studio_attributes devise :invitable, :database_authenticatable, :recoverable, :rememberable, :trackable end

  • Why does this test fail?

    - by Tomas Lycken
    I'm trying to test/spec the following action method public virtual ActionResult ChangePassword(ChangePasswordModel model) { if (ModelState.IsValid) { if (MembershipService.ChangePassword(User.Identity.Name, model.OldPassword, model.NewPassword)) { return RedirectToAction(MVC.Account.Actions.ChangePasswordSuccess); } else { ModelState.AddModelError("", "The current password is incorrect or the new password is invalid."); } } // If we got this far, something failed, redisplay form return RedirectToAction(MVC.Account.Actions.ChangePassword); } with the following MSpec specification: public class When_a_change_password_request_is_successful : with_a_change_password_input_model { Establish context = () => { membershipService.Setup(s => s.ChangePassword(Param.IsAny<string>(), Param.IsAny<string>(), Param.IsAny<string>())).Returns(true); controller.SetFakeControllerContext("POST"); }; Because of = () => controller.ChangePassword(inputModel); ThenIt should_be_a_redirect_result = () => result.ShouldBeARedirectToRoute(); ThenIt should_redirect_to_success_page = () => result.ShouldBeARedirectToRoute().And().ShouldRedirectToAction<AccountController>(c => c.ChangePasswordSuccess()); } where with_a_change_password_input_model is a base class that instantiates the input model, sets up a mock for the IMembershipService etc. The test fails on the first ThenIt (which is just an alias I'm using to avoid conflict with Moq...) with the following error description: Machine.Specifications.SpecificationException: Should be of type System.RuntimeType but is [null] But I am returning something - in fact, a RedirectToRouteResult - in each way the method can terminate! Why does MSpec believe the result to be null?

  • selecting a row by means of a button ... using didSelectRowAtIndexPath

    - by John Smith
    hey people , I have a question concerning a button I would like to create which selects my previous selected row. This is what I came up so far but since I'm new with the functionality and such I could definately use some pointers I created a toolbar with a button and behind this button is the following action. -(void)clickRow { selectedRow = [self.tableView indexPathForSelectedRow]; [self.tableView:[self tableView] didSelectRowAtIndexPath:selectedRow]; } in my didSelectRowAtIndexPath there is a rootViewController being pushed rvController = [RootViewController alloc] ...etc So what I would like is my function clickRow to select the row and push the new rootviewcontroller (which has the right info since I'm using a tree ). I tried something like this as well -(void)clickRow { NSDictionary *dictionary = [self.tableDataSource objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; NSArray *Children = [dictionary objectForKey:@"Children"]; rvController = [[RootViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"RootViewController" bundle:[NSBundle mainBundle]]; rvController.CurrentLevel += 1; rvController.CurrentTitle = [dictionary objectForKey:@"Title"]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:rvController animated:YES]; rvController.tableDataSource = Children; [rvController release]; } The last function works a little but a little is not enough;) For instance if I press the middle row or any other it constantly selects the toprow. thnx all for those of you reading and trying to help

  • JSF how to temporary disable validators to save draft

    - by Swiety
    I have a pretty complex form with lots of inputs and validators. For the user it takes pretty long time (even over an hour) to complete that, so they would like to be able to save the draft data, even if it violates rules like mandatory fields being not typed in. I believe this problem is common to many web applications, but can't find any well recognised pattern how this should be implemented. Can you please advise how to achieve that? For now I can see the following options: use of immediate=true on "Save draft" button doesn't work, as the UI data would not be stored on the bean, so I wouldn't be able to access it. Technically I could find the data in UI component tree, but traversing that doesn't seem to be a good idea. remove all the fields validation from the page and validate the data programmaticaly in the action listener defined for the form. Again, not a good idea, form is really complex, there are plenty of fields so validation implemented this way would be very messy. implement my own validators, that would be controlled by some request attribute, which would be set for standard form submission (with full validation expected) and would be unset for "save as draft" submission (when validation should be skipped). Again, not a good solution, I would need to provide my own wrappers for all validators I am using. But as you see no one is really reasonable. Is there really no simple solution to the problem?

  • ASP.Net MVC: Showing the same data using different layouts...

    - by vdh_ant
    Hi guys I'm wanting to create a page that allows the users to select how they would like to view their data - i.e. summary (which supports grouping), grid (which supports grouping), table (which supports grouping), map, time line, xml, json etc. Now each layout would probably have different use a different view model, which inherit from a common base class/view model. The reason being that each layout needs the object structure that it deals with to be different (some need hierarchical others a flatter structure). Each layout would call the same repository method and each layout would support the same functionality, i.e. searching and filtering (hence these controls would be shared between layouts). The main exception to this would be sorting which only grid and table views would need to support. Now my question is given this what do people think is the best approach. Using DisplayFor to handle the rendering of the different types? Also how do I work this with the actions... I would imagine that I would use the one action, and pass in the layout types, but then how does this support the grouping required for the summary, grid and table views. Do i treat each grouping as just a layout type Also how would this work from a URL point of view - what do people think is the template to support this layout functionality Cheers Anthony

  • No expires header

My objectives are: Gravatar.ashx fetches image from Gravatar server Server caches result for 1 hour (similar to SO) Expires header is added so client doesn't keep fetching it from my server

  • Multiple errors while adding searching to app

    - by Thijs
    Hi, I'm fairly new at iOS programming, but I managed to make a (in my opinion quite nice) app for the app store. The main function for my next update will be a search option for the app. I followed a tutorial I found on the internet and adapted it to fit my app. I got back quite some errors, most of which I managed to fix. But now I'm completely stuck and don't know what to do next. I know it's a lot to ask, but if anyone could take a look at the code underneath, it would be greatly appreciated. • How to display a generic error page in Asp.Net MVC 2

    - by Picflight
    I have the following in my base controller: protected override void OnException(ExceptionContext filterContext) { if (filterContext == null) { throw new ArgumentNullException("filterContext"); } // If custom errors are disabled, we need to let the normal ASP.NET exception handler // execute so that the user can see useful debugging information. if (filterContext.ExceptionHandled || !filterContext.HttpContext.IsCustomErrorEnabled) { return; } Exception exception = filterContext.Exception; // If this is not an HTTP 500 (for example, if somebody throws an HTTP 404 from an action method), // ignore it. if (new HttpException(null, exception).GetHttpCode() != 500) { return; } // TODO: What is the namespace for ExceptionType? //if (!ExceptionType.IsInstanceOfType(exception)) //{ // return; //} // Send Email MailException(exception); // TODO: What does this line do? base.OnException(filterContext); filterContext.Result = new ViewResult { ViewName = "Error" }; filterContext.ExceptionHandled = true; filterContext.HttpContext.Response.Clear(); filterContext.HttpContext.Response.StatusCode = 500; } In my Shared folder, I have an Error.aspx View. Web.config <customErrors mode="On" /> I am still seeing the yellow screen when an exception occurs. What am I doing incorrectly?

  • How to tell which dataform button ended edit when using EventToCommand

    - by Rodd
    I'm new to SilverLight and Mvvm-Light. I have a DataForm on my view that displays/edits a SelectedPerson property (a Person object) of my view model. I want to execute a command on my viewmodel when the user clicks the Save button but don't want to take action if the user clicks cancel. I added the following to my ViewModel: public RelayCommand PersonEditEnded {get; set;} ... public void Initialize() { PersonEditEnded = new RelayCommand(DoSomething); ... } public void DoSomething() { } I added the following to my View: <toolkit:DataForm x:Name="PersonForm" ... CurrentItem="{Binding SelectedPerson, Mode=TwoWay}"> <i:Interaction.Triggers> <i:EventTrigger EventName="EditEnded"> <gs:EventToCommand Command="{Binding PersonEditEnded, Mode=OneWay}"/> </i:EventTrigger> </i:Interaction.Triggers> </toolkit:DataForm> This works and the DoSomething method is being called when the user presses Submit. However, DoSomething is also called when user presses Cancel. Is there a way to know which button was pressed or to supress the call when Cancel is pressed? Thanks for whatever help you can offer!

  • Redirecting users after destroy

    - by mathee
    I have 3 models: Questions, Answers, and Profiles (I know, it should be called "Users"). When you view a question Q, I query the database for the answers to Q. (They are linked by id.) In the view, the current user has the option to delete his answer by clicking on the destroy link displayed next to his answer: %table %tr %td Answers: - @answers.each do |a| %tr %td - @provider = Profile.find(a.provider) %i #{h @provider.username} said: %br #{h a.description} %td = link_to 'View full answer', a %td - if a.provider == @profile.id #{link_to 'Delete my answer', a, :confirm => 'Are you sure?', :method => :delete} The problem is that when the user clicks on the destroy link, it redirects to the /answers/index. I want it to redirect to /questions/Q. What's the best way to do this? I know that there's a redirect_to method, but I don't know how to implement it when I want to redirect to an action for a different controller. It also needs to remember the question from which the answer is being deleted. I tried passing something like :question_id in link_to as: #{link_to 'Delete my answer', a, :confirm => 'Are you sure?', :question_id => @question.id, :method => :delete} In AnswersController#destroy: def destroy @answer = Answer.find(params[:id]) @answer.destroy respond_to do |format| format.html { redirect_to(answers_url) } format.xml { head :ok } end @question = Question.find(params[:question_id]) redirect_to question_path(@question) end The :question_id information is not passed to the destroy method, so I get this error: Couldn't find Question without an ID To confirm, I added a puts call before Question.find, and it returned nil.
