    hi GridView.DataKeynames stores the names of the primary key fields for the items displayed in a GridView control. 1) Even though I’ve set DataKeyNames, GridView still doesn’t store record’s primary key value(s) in DataKey object: protected void SqlDataSource1_Selected(object sender, SqlDataSourceStatusEventArgs e) { Label2.Text = GridView2.DataKeys[0].Value.ToString();//exception } Why not? 2) I assume when DataKeyNames is set, DataKey object stores both original and new values of a primary key ( assuming we issued an update command ) and when the update is finished, DataKey object discards the original value(s)? I cannot find any overload to DrawString or Font that would allow me to do so. g.DrawString("MyString", new Font("Courier", 44, GraphicsUnit.Pixel), Brushes.Black, new PointF(262, 638)); By letter spacing I mean the distance between letters. With spacing MyString could look like M y S t r i n g if I added enough space.

  • How can I force a tree itemrenderer to redraw during a drag and drop operation?

    I have a tree control with a custom item renderer. The item renderer has different states that should be set while an item is being dragged over the item renderer. I understand from reading this post http://forums.adobe.com/message/2091088 that the 'right way' to do this is to override the 'getCurrentState' method and append some text. I do that. Now in my tree control I handle the drag over event and get a reference to the itemrenderer that is being dragged over and I set the boolean 'dragOver' property to true. Now I just need to force my itemRenderer to redraw. I can't figure that out. A workaround, is to just set the currentState of the itemRenderer. My question then, how can I force my itemRenderer to refresh?   • Reset VS2010 Project Templates?

    I installed Blend 4 RC recently but strangely it deleted some of my VS2010 projects templates, including the most important ones being Silverlight User Control and Silverlight Application. Does anybody know how to get back these templates or tell VS2010 to reset all templates? A bit frustrating, I'm having to create projects on my laptop then copy them to my desktop manually :(

  • MapItemsControls not updating Silverlight Bing Map

    I'm using a MapItemsControl to control my Pushpin items within my Bing silverlight map. Right on the page load, I add a new pin programatically, and the pin shows up on the map. However I've now taken it further and I'm adding pins to my datasource via a click on the map. The new pins add to my datasource, but do not show up on the map. Do I need to rebind my datasource to my map control or somehow refresh the datasource?   • Best programming aids for a quadriplegic programmer

    Before you jump to conclusions, yes, this is programming related. It covers a situation that comes under the heading of, "There, but for the grace of God, go you or I." This is brand new territory for me so I'm asking for some serious help here. A young man, Honza Ripa, in a nearby town did the classic Dumb Thing two weeks after graduating from High School -- he dove into shallow water in the Russian River and had a C-4/C-5 break, sometimes called a Swimming Pool break. In a matter of seconds he went from an exceptional golfer and wrestler to a quadriplegic. (Read the story ... all of us should have been so lucky as to have a girlfriend like Brianna.) That was 10 months ago and he has regained only tiny amounts of control of his right index finger and a couple of other hand/foot motions, none of them fine-grained. His total control of his computer (currently running Win7, but we can change that as needed) is via voice command. Honza's not dumb. He had a 3.7 GPA with AP math and physics. The Problems: Since all of his input is via voice command, he is concerned that the predominance of special characters in programming will require vast amount of verbose commands. Does anyone know of any well done voice input system specifically designed for programmers? I'm thinking about something that might be modal--e.g. you say "Python input" and it goes into a macro mode for doing class definitions, etc. Given all of the RSI in programmer-land there's got to be something out there. What OS(es) does it run on? I am planning on teaching him Python, which is my preferred language for programming and teaching. Are there any applications / whatevers that are written in Python and would be a particularly good match for engaging him mentally while supporting his disability? One of his expressed interests is in stock investing, but that not might be a good starting point for a brand-new programmer. There are a lot of environments (Flash, JavaScript, etc) that are not particularly friendly to people with accessibility challenges. I vaguely remember (but cannot find) a research project that basically created an overlay system on top of a screen environment and then allowed macro command construction on top of the screen image. If we can get/train this system, we may be able to remove many hurdles to using the net. I am particularly interested in finding open source Python-based robotics and robotic prostheses projects so that he can simultaneously learn advanced programming concepts while learning to solve some of his own immediate problems. I've done a ton of googling on this, but I know there things I'm missing. I'm asking the SO community to step up to the plate here. I know this group has the answers, so let me hear them! Overwhelm me with the opportunities that any of us might have/need to still program after such a life-changing event.

    OK have just started getting this error and I'm not sure why. I have a hosting page which has listview and a panel with a usercontrol. The listview loads up records with a linkbutton. You click the link button to edit that particular record - which gets loaded up in the formview (within the usercontrol) which goes to edit mode. After an update occurs in the formview I'm triggering an event which my hosting page is listening for. The hosting page then rebinds the listview to show the updated data.     I have a WindowsXP configured as a build machine. The build process runs under an account which isn't an administrator. Some projects register as a last step an ocx control with something like regsvr32 /s /c ".\debug\myocx.ocx" This step fails and I assume that this has something to do with rights because doing the same under an admin account works fine. What rights/permissions/policies do I need to give the build account and where do I do it? (Browsing Local Users and Groups and Local Security Settings haven't helped me)

    If I add this to the ASPX page: <input id="Text1" type="text" value="Text1Value" /> I would expect to see "Text1" in the list of Request Form keys even WITHOUT setting the runat=Server property. ? request.Form.AllKeys I realize that if I do set that propery, then I will have a server-sided HTML control that I can reference using the name "Text1," but shouldn't I be able to access the text in the text box using the following VB.NET syntax? request.Form("Text1")

  • Jquery 'permission denied' error for JSON call between HTTP and HTTPS

    Hi, I have a login control on my homepage (http://www.xyz.com) which makes a JSON login request over HTTPS (https://www.xyz.com/json.ashx). This seems to work fine in Firefox and IE7. But IE8 gives a 'permission denied' error for jquery.min.js I have verified that this call works fine if its solely over http or https. Is the call considered 'cross-domain' if it is between the http and https sections of the site? How can I resolve this problem? Thanks, Murali
