  • Rebuilding website from Django 0.96 to Django 1.2

    I've got a website done in Django 0.96 (done in 2007), and now we are thinking about rebuilding it (not just migrating) for Django 1.2 . Can anyone point me to the new (and worth the while) widgets, plugins and other stuff for Django 1.2 (released in april 2010). I've heard of "South" and of a widget for debugging (can't remember the name), but I'm a little lost here.

    After watching in horror as the .net framework 3.5 SP1 bloated to whopping 231 MB I was amazed to see that .NET Framework 4 Full (x86) is only 35 MB and client profile just 29 MB... My question is if .NET Framework 4 is in any way dependent on previous versions of the framework(s) being installed on the client machine or if my users will have to download only 29 (or 35) MB if I develop a Winforms or WPF desktop application in VS 2010 targeting the .NET Framework 4?

    I have to fetch all the files from a folder and i am using the function GetFiles() like string[] dirImages = Directory.GetFiles(strPathYearImages + intYear , "*.png"); where strPathYearImages="Images\Holiday\2010\" but when i write the whole path like string[] dirImages = Directory.GetFiles(@"E:\IWP\Images\Holiday\"+ intYear , "*.png"); i get the required result.     I'm using the fullcalendar jquery plugin, and would like to display 2009 and 2011 in the nextYear and prevYear buttons. For exmaple: 2009 May 2010 2011 I know I can put static text on the buttons like this: buttonText: { prevYear: '2009', nextYear: '2011' }, But I would like those years to change, depending on the year that the calendar is currently viewing. There's documentation about 'year' here: http://arshaw.com/fullcalendar/docs/current_date/ but I don't know how to get that 'year' property. Any examples would be appreciated, Thanks, --Nate

  • Why isnt sql management studio integrated in visual studio?

    I have both SQL Server 2005 and Visual Studio 2008 installed and think it would be really nice to have SQL Management Studio integrated directly within Visual Studio. Is there a way to make that happen? What about in VS 2010 with SQL Server 2008? I find the Visual Studio Server Explorer window to be much slower too than the Object Browser in SQL Server's Management Studio... it would be nice to never really need to use the Server Explorer.

    I have a .net 4 application that uses a Com Dll to send SMS messages. I used TlbImp to create the interop assembly and that is what is referenced in the application. When I try to create an instance of this class, it takes a really long time (2-5 seconds). I ran performance profile in VS 2010 and the call that takes the longest by far is System.Activator.CreateInstance(). I am looking for tips on how to debug or gotchas with using Com Interop.

    Hi, I just upgraded to VS 2010 and MVC 2.0 and I noticed the web.config has two additional files attached to it? Are thee files used to specify debug and release specific settings, so you don't clutter up the main web.config? Does it even make sense to place a connection string in the root web.config file if I have have a local and remote one in the debug and release web.configs respectively. Thanks!

  • Firebug is throwing a ' $( ' error?

    I am getting a strange error in Firebug, that I am not getting in Webkit. The error comes up as ' $( ' in firebug. Here's the code that is supposedly causing it to flip: $.getScript("http://kylehotchkiss.com/min/?g=packageHome", function() { $(".countdown").countdown({ until: new Date(2010, 6 - 1, 5), layout:'{dn} {dl}' }); }); The error isn't specific to the countdown script, it's just giving me an error trying to call any plugin I just loaded in firefox. Any ideas?
